Not a couple, just good friends. They both started singing in the sixties and have done other performances together. John has been married for many many many years to the same woman. He has never changed. He’s still a funny, down to earth guy. And now battling jaw cancer. Australia cried when we heard.
Not a couple, but very close friends throughout their careers since the late 1960s and early 70s. Over 50 years ago they were both crowned “King and Queen of Pop” in annual Australian music awards.
@@aussiekat6379 Technically I believe you’re right. QoP went to Debbie Byrne, Colleen Hewett and Marcia Hines through the early 70s, and Olivia got some other Best Performer award in the mid 70s. I stand corrected!😀
Olivia and John grew up together within the music industry they were in. Olivia had some massive hits and John did also, but he had a young family and wanted to be there for his wife and sons, so he decided not to tour to America on a big scale, although he did make himself known to the world, but he wasn’t known to the whole world like Olivia was. John is the ultimate Rock vocalist, and if you don’t believe my word, have a listen to his version of LedZepplin’s “Black Dog “ as he crushes the vocals. The best version ever… What a great singer John has always been ❤👏👏👏👏👏🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🦘🦘🦘🤭🥰❤
Two Australian legends one one stage demonstrating their extraordinary skills and friendship. RIP Olivia, you are missed. Please react a lot more to John Farnham, “angels” live 2000 is another great duet John Farnham sings with Lisa Edwards
Heartfelt reaction from yourself Maddy, I'm glad you enjoyed it! This was a brilliant series of concerts that sold out over 300,000 tickets around Australia and spawned a 5 x Platinum number one CD along with a number one Video Cassette and 4 x Platinum DVD of the show. We lost our beautiful Olivia at 73 years of age on 08/08/2023 after 30 years living with Breast Cancer and she leaves behind a massive catalogue of hits after selling over 100 million albums worldwide and her dedication to trying to find a cure for Cancer resulted in her raising over 100 million dollars and building The Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness & Research Centre in Melbourne, Australia. An iconic Australian (who was made a Dame in 2020 ) gone too soon. John Farnham is currently recovering, one year on, from major surgery for throat cancer and is a beloved performer in our country.
That was a superb performance. This is John's song but he has sung it in duet with others. This duet with Olivia is just perfection from both of them. Up until her death, John and Olivia were really good friends and did perform and record together. This concert was The Main Event in which John, Olivia and Anthony Warlow - an Australian light opera performer - sand in solo, duet or trio. It was totally brilliant and well worth a look. The reason you feel the lyrics when John sings is because that is the only way he knows how to sing songs whether ballad, pop, rock or any other genre. RIP Olivia.
John was the last phone call Livvie took before she passed away with her husband and daughter. Then his wife Jill had to put him back together again. You should know Olivia from the Movie Grease with John Travolta. This was the Main Event Concert that toured for 3 months with these two and Anthony Warlow. They were getting Anthony back out there after some tough cancer treatment and he is Classically trained but they are three very nice people. This concert is lovely and funny, John sings some Opera with Anthony. This whole concert is on RU-vid. John’s Documentary is being released in 12 days. He can basically sing any genre, our Chameleon. The song people listen to first so you get an idea of his power is Help with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra live. He is always best live. He had number one albums in 5 consecutive decades. When your number one fan is Celine Dion and another is Richard Marx who named John the best Voice alive anywhere you know he is something very special. We call him the Voice. When he sings Help at the concert above if you listen to it. Remember it is an encore after more than two hours of that voice. Thank you.
6 consecutive decades if you include the 2015 and 2016 number one albums recorded with Olivia. YWO strong Hearts and Freinds for Christmas . And 7 Decades of top 2 hits albums if you include the recently released Finding the Voice album. And extraordinary career.
@@carolynh8866, did you fail Maths at school? John is 74, that is 7 decades and 4 years. His career did not start when he was 4. He performed for just over 5 decades. Finding The Voice is wonderful but not a hit album.
Thank you for a Great reaction and appreciation of two of our most phenomenal Australian Legends, John Farnham and Olivia Newton-John! Both were amazing Talents and performers...the best! The GOATs! They were not a couple, but had a great friendship and respect for each other I believe. Please watch more of them sining together, e.g. Somewhere Over The Rainbow, and 'Dare to Dream' at the Sydney 2000 Olympics.
I went to this concert in the mid 90s...it was one of the best shows i have been to. Anthony Warlow was also brilliant too. Please review and react to "When Something Is Wrong With My Baby" John Farnham and Jimmy Barnes. Most of John's live performances are better...but if you do this...the video clip of this recording is better. Also "Help" by John Farnham also very good.
They are just friends , both carers started at the same time in Melbourne Australia within the late 60’s Olivia Newton John got lucky with a international success and relocated to the UK then onto the USA and become a superstar with smash hit musical Grease . John has been happy with more lower international profile he is considered a 1 hit wonder in UK and some European countries with the massive hit single You’re The Voice . John has well over 40 top 50 hits in Australia 4 singles made it to number 1 John debut single * Sadie The Cleaning Lady and corny novelty song 1967 * Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head cover of the BJ, Thomas song released the same year 1969/70 . It was 16 years until John got his next number 1 song with * You’re The Voice in 1986 . That revitalised John’s career beyond anyone’s imagination . * Age Of Reason 1988 was John’s last number 1 in Australia Age Of Reason is one John’s favourite songs . John has many number 1 albums 11 in total John is one of the only artists that has a number 1 either a single or album in every decade since the 60’s not even the Rolling Stones or The Beatles have achieved such a feat .
As has been mentioned, this came from a show called The Main Event, but there was a third singer, the incredible Anthony Warlow. (I actually saw Warlow when he sung as Phantom in Phantom Of The Opera). Do yourself a favour and check out John and Anthony sing Granada. You'll laugh and be blown away by the singing.
John & Liv had been friends for more than 50 years. There was never more than that in their relationship. Both are good actors as well as magnificent singers.
Beautiful performance . Please check out John's most famous song You're the Voice...choose the performance live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra ❤ You wont go wrong reacting to anything from John Farnham. He is australias most beloved entertainer ever. Just recently with the release of a documentary about his life, he had 12 of the top 20 albums in out charts again. He still has the highest selling album of all time by an Australian with his 1986 Whispering Jack Album. And still holds the record for the msot awarded Solo artist in the country❤
OMG, My eyes geared up as soon as I heard her, RIP sweet lady you were a beautiful soul! An absolutely beautiful song, beautifully sung! 😢 Liked your reaction to it 🥲 I feel that you also were affected by it 🌹🌹🌹
Watching your reaction, you didn't seem to recognise Olivia Newton John, stared alongside John Travolta in Grease. Well known throughout the world. John Farnham doesn't have the recognition he deserved, but was huge here in Australia, an amazing collection of songs to go with his world class voice
John was a heavy smoker all his life and shortly after Olivia's passing due to the return of breast cancer he was diagnosed with cancer of the jaw. HE is in recovery and is slowly coming good.
if you like our Aussie National Treasure John Farnham, then do yourself a favor and react to his cover of the Beatles song "Help" live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra - it is mind blowing !!!!!!! you won't regret it :)
No they are not a couple John is very much devoted to his wife Jillian of 50 years. John and Olivia are great friends have been for years this was from a concert they did back in 1998 with another great Australian singer Anthony Warlow The Main Event which is a great concert and you can check it out on RU-vid.. Please Don’t Ask Me is John song it was written for him and it’s one of my absolute favourites of him singing the emotion he puts into this song is amazing. you should check it out with him singing it with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra from the Classic Jack concert.. 1989 🧐😊🇦🇺
They aren't a couple but I think they were good friends over the years. John Farnham has an awesome voice and has tackled a number of different genres but contemporary (1960's thru noughties) is his primary field (my opinion only). Songs like "Help", (Beatles cover), or "Your the Voice" are outstanding and from left field, there is a recording only, (no video), of a sound check before a gig where he nails Led Zeppelin's "Black Dog". There is also a duet with another famous Aussie singer Jimmy Barnes, a blues track called "When something is wrong with my baby". I'm sure you are going to love the Aussie part of your journey. Cheers.
John could sing the phone book and it would be a hit record!! And Libby had hits with Physical in the 80’s and many others. She played Sandy in Grease with John Travolta and they too were great friends and she starred in a movie called Xanadu which I thought was ordinary but the songs were fantastic and she looked beautiful as always. John and Livvy( RIP) were fantastic in this concert.♥️
Suggestion another beautiful song by these amazing musicians. Olivia Newton-John and John Farnham - Dare To Dream. Sydney 2000 Olympics Opening Cerenomy.
Definitely not a couple, just a couple of amazing performers. They were friends for many decades - the performance ends after the kiss, and the friendship shows in the hug afterwards. John has been happily married for 50 years, and Olivia was also married. Highly recommend you listen to more of John, this is just the start of what he can do vocally and performance-wise. To get you started, I'd suggest his cover of Help! - there are many versions on RU-vid, the one with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra is best, so search for that. Also You're The Voice from the same concert with MSO. There are plenty more in all sorts of genres, but those are good to begin with. Also, always always listen to John live - he always gives studio-quality perfection when live, and his stage presence and charisma are a big part of what makes him such an amazing and beloved artist in Australia.
This performance was part of " The main event" concert. This whole concert is epic. John Farnham and Olivia Newton John are Aussie legends but it would be great if you could react to more John Farnham, especially his concert with the Melbourne symphony orchestra, another epic performance. John Farnham is Australia's best and he is know as the voice! You will find out why, if you react to more John Farnham 😁 Loved your reaction ❤️👍👍👍🇦🇺
If you want to know how John felt about Olivia read his public tribute to her when she died . He wrote amongst other things “I love you so much and we’ll be together again one day.”
Uh Oh.... You've just fallen down the Johnny Farnham rabbit hole... Olivia Newton John, a legend in her own right (RIP) ... Enjoy the Journey... But always remember... Watch the LIVE performances
They were never a couple because they both married different partners when they were very young and remained loyal. But they were close friends for decades. Yes much chemistry.
They have never been a couple. They are friends and were for many decades. They broke into the music industry around the same time and in the same town. They were both teenagers and thus virtually grew up in the business together. Until Olivia's passing, they remained close. John, like most Australians, remembers her fondly.
John has almost 60 years of hit singles and No 1 albums from 1967 to about 2016.......but he is best known and loved for his live performances over the last 40 + years....... still performing brilliantly at 71 yo until Covid and his cancer stopped him. Do yourself a favour and react to a lot more of John........Help, Long Way To The Top and The Voice ( again ) all with the MSO. Then Gethsemane from the 1990’s production of Jesus Christ Superstar, and Everything’s Alright by Kate, John and Jon Stevens.
Have you ever heard of 4th Impact. probably the greatest girl group of today that you have probably never heard of. In 2015 they auditioned for X FACTOR UK and that video has more than 190 million views on you tube. in feb 2023 they performed before 55,000 people in manila. if you love harmonies ......these ladies have the best i have ever heard. oh ..did I mention they are sisters. they have many covers and a few original songs on you tube. I hope you might find the time to react to them.
@@MaddyReactions Let's put The Bee Gees' "Too Much Heaven" ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-i6iBAuwBODA.html on your reaction list with a Ko-fi request! Watch for Corker X!
Nah not a couple just great mates. This was from The Main Event Concerts in the round that also featured Anthony Warlpw. I was at the Brisbane Concert and it was Amazing.
Absolutely nothing against the people in this reaction video, and I know it’s a matter of personal taste, but to me (and I live in Minnesota), Australias finest means THE CHURCH (start with “Under the Milky Way”) and MIDNIGHT OIL (start with “Beds Are Burning”).
Listen to Farnsey singing ‘Black Dog’ by Led Zeppelin just as a backstage warmup. He can sing around 20 genres. Has been in the Aussie charts for 5 decades. Any Aussie Musos are awesome.
