Agree. This should be our national Anthem. Instead of "girt by sea" young and free. 2019 Australia is not the country I was born and grew up in, with all the refugees it's no longer the happy go free safe lucky country.

Modern Renaissance Man You may have noticed the crowds in our awards ceremonies are a little more animated In the audience at video point 3:32 is Glenn Wheatley with his hand on his wife's shoulder/ Wheatley is Farnham's friend and manager. Wheatley had been the bass player in an earlier Aussie band; The Masters Apprentices. When he left that band he went into music management. John Farnham was a long-standing feature in the music industry here... known as Johnny Farnham. He and Wheatley became good mates. Farnham spent time as the frontman of The Little River Band before wanting to do his own thing. Wheatley financed the album - what would become "Whispering Jack" by putting his own house into hock. "Whispering Jack" - which features "You're the Voice" was a massive commercial success and he got repaid the money many times over. He had put his money up to back his mate and it paid off It would also be good if you could look at "Because I Love You" by The Masters Apprentices ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-oKE2hmgzUgo.html

A good friend of mine worked as a sound engineer for one of his more recent tours. During his vocal warmups he would show off his full range of vocals, and in an empty arena, with just him and his microphone, my friend said he's never heard a voice like it. So much range & so much control. And keep in mind he was well into his 60's at this point.

Jimmy McCallum I was 15 years old riding my horse, warming him up at the rodeo grounds in a little town in Tasmania (1996 or 97), when another horse and rider started riding beside me, this gentleman was very polite, we chatted about general things and just casually rode our horses in the arena for about 45mins. As we came out into the parking area with the horse floats, he let me tie my horse to his trailer as I didn’t have a trailer of my own. He had told me his name was John, it wasn’t till very late that day after he left, that I learned his full name was John Farnham. I was so shocked, I grew up on his songs, my dad was a fan, yet he was so down to earth and humble that I just didn’t recognise him.

To offer a little context to this clip, John Farnham is an Aussie music legend and this was the number 1 song from his 1986 album "Whispering Jack" and is an Aussie staple (you cannot help but sing along). He is performing here at The ARIA (Australian Recording Industry Association) Awards, so many of the crowd in the clip are Australian music identities. As a stagehand at the very first ARIA's I met him back stage and he is such a likable and humble person. I've also seen him live in concert several times and he truly loves and appreciates his audience (going so far as to have the houselights turned up so he can see the crowd singing along) He did a duet with Olivia Newton John at his "Main Event" concert and I would love to see your reaction to their song "Please Don't Ask Me" Once again, all the best MRM and keep those reaction clips coming!

He’s well loved here in Australia - his voice, humour and down to earth nature make him the star he is. It’s awesome to see your reaction to a song we take for granted ❤️❤️ a powerful message for today’s times as well.

There was a lot of aussie talent in that room which the camera went over. I reckon you will like Marcia Hines and her daughter Deni. Marcia was born in America but came here in her early teens and made her career here. Now considered one of our greatest aussie singers. Her rich deep voice is gorgeous to listen to.

If you want to see him interact with a crowd you need to look for the Concert he did for the troops at Dilli - it was in 1999 I think, they broadcast it and I remember watching it on TV

I remember the first time I heard this song. I was blown away. I lived on the Canadian border when it was released and only Canadian (Toronto area) radio stations seemed to play it - nothing from the Buffalo market. Heart did a fabulous cover of this.

One of the things that makes him such a great performer is the strength of his voice and his ability, in concert, to sing the last song with as much strength as the first.. an incredible voice ... wel done John Farnham!

You just heard the Aussie National anthem man. John Farnham is a living legend. He sang this song with Celine Dion a few years ago, and she surprised the audience by starting the song by herself, but a minute later out walks John and the crowd just erupted. That is the only time I've seen any singer outsing Celene Dion. All her band gave him a long standing ovation and Celene literally bowed down to him. It was incredible

Tim O Donnell I agree with you John Outsang Celine It wasnt by much But if you hear him when he went high and Sang down the Barrel of a Gun And Did that high note You cant hear Celines Voice only Johns and tbh that Proves his Talent to ousting a global icon Like Celine dion is No easy Task but John Did it She also Said that she has been a fan of His ever since You're the Voice has came out she has sung along to all of his songs on RU-vid And performing side by side with him was a Dream Come True She continues To Sing John Farnhams You're the Voice in The United States Whenever she does a concert....She sang it in Las Vegas , She Sang it on Her recent Tour To London and Both in The U.S. and In The UK The Crowds knew the Words And Were Singing along to the Song Lyric For lyric ....that also proves Johns Popularity In The U.S. Has INCREASED Alot And throughout many parts of the World Play You're the Voice on the Radio Even in the U.S. They Play it Every once in awhile In France its played in Italy its played South Africa its Popular and Especially in Canada Its A Staple on there Radios So Yeah that was a fun fact hope you Enjoyed this haha 🖖

Travis Carlson I found your info very interesting! I have seen him singing with Celine, & he was on fire! It’s such a shame John didn’t get the recognition worldwide, that he did in Australia. He’s the kind of man who really deserves it, but wouldn’t be concerned about it.
