"Four gold bars connected to the FBI search of Sen. Bob Menendez’s home have direct links to a New Jersey businessman now accused of bribing Menendez, the state’s senior senator, Bergen County prosecutor’s records from a 2013 robbery case show.
The businessman, Fred Daibes, reported to police that he was the victim of an armed robbery in 2013, and he asked police to recover the gold bars stolen from him. Daibes reported that $500,000 in cash and 22 gold bars were stolen, Edgewater, New Jersey, police records show. Police later caught four people with the stolen goods."

I feel like this kinda skews the story. Connor Lamb, Fetterman's Democratic primary opponent in PA, and an establishment Dem w history in the party, was openly courting groups like DMFI and AIPAC to spend in the 2022 prinary. Fetterman doing this handicapped his opponent and ensured his win. It's arguable that without this, Fetterman has a much harder time beating Lamb and/or Oz. It's ugly, yes, but there might not even be a Fetterman term to critique if he didn't take this path.

Yes, but then you can make any excuses to get elected because you’re the “better candidate” by definition, not based on policies. Sell out your voters on everything because you “know” you’re better, like Sinema. Serious question: how would having Conor Lamb instead of Fetterman made a difference? Has he made a key difference in progressive votes, sponsored progressive legislation? I don’t see how, given he’s still affected by his stroke. I just see him as betraying progressives and making himself a useful tool for the establishment to attack other progressives on Israel (“even Fetterman is anti-Hamas, the squad must be Nazis!”). His health is also a serious question.

He has some audacity, to say that anyone in Congress should go, after his whole stroke episode. You can clearly see the cognitive decline, since then, which compromises his competency. Do you know how many times, that man got stuck on stage, in mid-sentence? Then he starts breaking down, crying, whining about him being bullied for his stroke. That's the man y'all trust to govern, competently? 😂🤣 He's being bullied, because he's a politician, who chose to run. Therefore, he's open to just as much criticism, as anyone else, fair or otherwise. His prior stroke, compromises his ability to effectively govern. That's literally any stroke patient, Democrat or Republican. By reading this, you would think I had no sympathy for people who had strokes. But in reality, I have no sympathy for those so selfish, that they would compromise the security, of those they were elected by to govern. The man barely knows how to dress properly, even in the most public of forums and is a disgrace to his elected position.
