Sounds like the WSL has a communication issue when 2 of the best surfers ever are confused by the judging criteria and how judges value critical surfing. Authentic conversation really does expose how vanilla Turpel, Strider et al are. I still love watching comps but I’d just love to hear genuine conversation and debate from commentators rather than that awkward ‘we’re all winners’ corporate spin. So grateful we have these additional platforms to be more in the tent with the athletes.

John is the perfect guy to host a podcast as he is really good at listening but also has knowledge in so many different areas. Just perfect to listen to.

As a ex professional triathlete . We all talk the same about competition. At the end of the day even if you win you still have to deal with putting the trash out and cleaning the toilet. It's all about expectations meeting perspective. Jordi is such a special human.

Even if Jordy doesnt win a world title he is still one of my favorite surfers. But I am Not giving up on him yet.

I never watch videos all the way through, I always find myself skipping ahead, but I was bummed when this ended. It was good to hear real answers and an hoest talk about tour life and mindset from two guys that are at the forefront of surfing. We need more conversations like this and I would not be bummed if it was Jordy and JJ.......

I found this video amazing. By the way J.J's videos are amazing. Well...I'm from Brazil and I'm happy with this current moment, but I think you shouldn't worry so much about motivation. I know it's easy to say this from the outside, but just look at how the world is. You are certainly great surfers, perhaps the best at a lot. We Brazilians suffer when that battery comes. Damn it! It's JJ now. Damn it's Jordy now. Two guys we shake. I think life is like that. We have over 7 billion people in the world. Dude is a lot of people surfing. Think. You be the best in the world.
