That Final Jam in Chorzow is the reason why RHCP's will never be the same. As amazingly talented and as much of a brilliant guitarist Josh Klinghoffer is, that final jam shows how John Frusciante could never truly be replaced. It's the reason for all the misplaced hate towards Josh. John's passion is unparalleled.
just because he does electronic now means he's replaceable? naw dude. there's a reason the last few chili peppers albums have sucked xD (klinghoffer is great, they just don't work as well without john's input though)
I agree with you. Totally agree. John is unique, like Mozart, Hendrix, Lennon.. And I still found in his eletronic stuff full of beautiful. Try to find.
John Frusciante is fucking sick! He's not like other guitar players, I mean yeah, his attitude on music is so much more mature than other guitar players like Slash, Kirk Hammett etc. but he sounds different, he plays solo's different to normal guitar solo's, when he plays it sounds like his guitar is just dying in his hands of exhaustion and desperation and he's doing all he can to keep it alive but at the same time just fucking torturing it to its last breath. I love this man!
What I love about John is he's not all technical like so many present day guitarists. He just lets go in the moment and makes mistakes, beautiful ones at that
Wow. I watched an interview of this guy yrs ago, and he def changed things around. He's an amazing guitarist, and many may not think it, but a pretty intelligent individual too.
The best description ever dude!!!!! "when he plays it sounds like his guitar is just dying in his hands of exhaustion and desperation and he's doing all he can to keep it alive but at the same time just fucking torturing it to its last breath."
Hey thaks for all the comments really appreciate it !!! Sorry for some mistakes in the vid :P I going to make a new Frusciante solo video soon, to cause more addiction :D Thinking of some slane solos, Parallel Universe (Japan 2004) and this crazy Lyon solo from the b-side! Just love this one .... So keep tuned
After watching a few other vids i realized how fucking important Flea is and how they compliment each others playing the whole time! Fucking fantastic!!!
I really really miss the Don't Forget Me outro solo from the Reading and Leeds festival. That's definetly my number one. But you did a pretty good choice in this at all. Thx for sharing!
He may not have the fastest finger around or the fluidiest string sweep. But among guitarist, you can milk the most amount of honey from his finger. Long live frusciante. :)
Some of his best work there. He uses interesting musical ideas in the end solo like 6ths or 5ths on some of his two note phrases going up the neck. It's really cool
all around great player, and has written some great songs. search for john frusciante and omar lopez jamming together, they get into some pretty 'hard to play' riffing
Lol yep, that's me buddy! I've been playing since I was 5 and I've listened to and enjoy players in all kinds of genres - blues, jazz, rock, latin, metal, funk etc. etc. Hendrix was great - this guy is average at best and comparing them is pretty funny. But don't worry, that's just my opinion
I think one of my favourites would be his outro on dont forget me that he did, I know he did it at slane castle. Not extremely complex but so much emotion in it
Lo escucho desde que tengo 12 años, tengo 24, y la sensación que me despiertan los solos de Fruciante me mueven las entrañas. Cuando sea un puto anciano me sentiré orgulloso de haber escuchado estas maravillas!
even on this stupid website full of pointlessly rude and uneducated people, looking for a way to insult the general public in the most cowardly and easy way possible, i am yet to come across someone who does not love this man. he is clearly a genius, and i don't think it is possible to not recognize that, regardless of musical knowledge. Johns music inspires and flows like magic. this is done in a way i am yet to and probably never will see replicated.
Jorge Bartolencio i'm not sure if it's equally, I dindn't understand anything on the last olbum of him. he's not even playing guitar anymore in some songs
Yassine Naitaissi Yeah, I kinda got overwhelmed by his latest albums. He's tried to go so different and individual that he ended up producing really weird stuff. I enjoyed songs like Song To Sing When I'm Lonely (in which he applies some sort of electronic samples, but only the right amount) or The Days Have Turned. But I agree with you, the stuff he's been releasing lately is harsh to listen...
Exactly! Slane Castle is an Epic evening for John n them. Hendrix shit. Spirits...Thankx for this John...P.S release some music u and Rza might have recorded?
If you listen to the last solo which comes from pretty close to the end of johns career with the chilis you can A.) see how during the solo john is his own little world rather than engaging with flea and chad. This is indicative of the rift that was forming between john and the rest of RHCP. and B.) You can hear him toying around with riffs that would eventually expand and become parts of the solo for "Enough of Me," One of the best songs off of John's first solo release post-peppers IMHO.
Josh is an amazing guitarist and i like him in RHCP. It's not like he is a bad guitarist, John just set the bar really really high and I don't think that Josh will ever reach it. The Getaway is awesome and I know his work in the future will be even better.
Am I the only one who feels that if John did stay in the band their music today would be quite similar to what it is now? I mean with john heading in the direction of electronic/keyboard orientated music I recon it'd be similar to the getaway. Does that make any sense
Ethan Cowley yh, some songs would be similar for that reason, but if u listen to something like rain dance Maggie, or go robot, then maybe not, because josh sinks into the background sometimes whereas John didn't. still. meet me at the corner and sick love both sound very frusciante and there's more examples where josh and his style are incredibly similar
I more or less meant music off the latest album. I think Josh's style of playing, although heavily influenced by frusciante, is very unique. For example listen to the beginning of the longest wave. I think it's incredibly unique and beautiful
Ethan Cowley yh, they're both pretty unique so comparing them isnt really possible to be fair, but yh, the longest wave sounds really dreamy literally like it'll carry u off on a gentle wave
