Sammy made up the 'John wanted us to take the fall' story to save face. It's an obvious lie. It wouldn't have worked, anyway. The Gov would still go after John... even if Sammy was willing to say he did everything. It would not have changed a damn thing for John. .

Were they heart broken? saw it coming? Surprised? I mean after all they were brothers. Were there the arguments like Sammy said? Oranges? Sammy face to face with John after the tapes?

Im not here to stand up for sammy or john, but there's always 3 sides to the story. That being said i have watched the videos of sammy talking about how he loved john, I believe him when he said he got mad when some other inmate showed sammy a pic of john lookin all fucked up. And sammy said he didn't want to see john die like a dog. I also know that john gotti wouldn't have been "the Teflon don" without sammy the Bull. Sammy did a lot for john, and I can only imagine how hurt and betrayed he felt when he heard the tape of john talking all that shit about him. I can also imagine how betrayed john felt when sammy flipped. So Michael, i have a question for you. Up until before sammy flipped, would you agree that sammy was something special in cosa nostra? Still listening to interview, at point where lawyers says anyone would admire John's intellect etc. To stay neutral, or try too, let's assume all this lawyer say about John Gotti and Sammy Gravano are true. Just to work things out intellectually and to search for lessons to be learned in life. One lesson that would seem to be demonstrated is that even highly intelligent leaders (e.g. John Gotti) can make mistakes (e.g. choice of underboss in Sammy and not picking up quick enough on Sammy's betrayal towards--supposedly many).

The question that should be asked is when Sammy did his vary first interview in 1996 with Diane sawyer he never once mentioned he cooperated because John was going to throw him under the bus . If it was true for sure, he would have said it during that first interview. It was only when John was dead that he said John was going to throw me under the bus. That's why I cooperated

It seems like Mr. Cardinale said something contradictory about what John would of done about the case. First he said if there was a way for John Gotti to take the rap, he would of done that in a second so Franky and Sammy could go home. Then he said that John said that “we are all in this together” “if something helps me but hurts Franky don’t use it, and if something hurts me and helps Franky don’t use it.” “We are all in this together, either we all go down together or we all walk together.” Did anyone else catch that?

I use to dig these guys and the topics they would discuss but now it seems that all they care about is going after Gravano. Who the fuck cares?! Let Gravano tell his stories and Mikey should get back to telling his! And RJ continue being his #1 fanboy/hypeman!

I'm not a Gravano fan, but it's easy to see how Gotti lost with THIS guy. At 8 minutes in- "Uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh... uh...uh" LET THE CLUTCH OUT BUDDY! Did this guy have a stroke or something? Sammy snitched to save himself. End of story. I've been a street kid my whole entire life. I'm from Staten Island and I have numerous associates and members on both sides of my family from this era. I remember the pulse of the streets in the late 80s early 90s. I can tell you that cooperation was NOT tolerated by 99.9% of ppl. This was unheard of. Regular ppl, including parents didn't allow their children to tattle. There's no way anyone would say "You're the sacrificial lamb. Streets needs the boss. Its gotta be this way". No way! Not a chance!..if John or anyone were to take this position, and I mean if, they'd do it in a sneaky way through actions. John, or anyone else during that era would sooner throw up before those words come out of their mouth. Sammy is an interesting guy. He has charisma and captivates you with his first seasons of his podcast. Hes a former heavy weight and dangerous guy. However, he's lying about that situation.

Bottom line, John was on tapes talking about murders. That's a big, big rule to break. You never, never, never talk about work, under any circumstances. Sammy had already decided that was a big enough betrayal to flip. Can you blame him? All this talk about F. Lee Bailey is irrelevant. Sammy decided to flip when he heard John talking about murders on the tapes. He was sitting in his cell after hearing those tapes and wanted to kill John, I'm sure. So he flipped. It was his way of whacking John. All this talk from Sammy that John said this, John said that is bullshit. Sammy decided the second he heard those tapes to flip when he heard John talking about murders. End of story.

Given the way he murdered Castellano to save himself, are we to believe Gotti wasn't gonna do anything and everything to save his own ass this time around? Take into account too that any private discussions between Gotti, Sammy, and F. Lee Bailey would've been protected under attorney-client privilege. Therefore, Cardinale knew nothing of any discussions between the three. I guarantee F. Lee Bailey looked Gotti and Sammy squarely in the face and told them they were both going to prison for life. U.S. Attorneys had a slam-dunk case. Gotti, ever the schemer, most likely began scheming a way to beat the case. He entertained every single option and possibility. Are we to believe that one of those options wasn't to throw Frankie Lo and Sammy under the bus? Gotti was a cornered desperate animal and he knew it. I like this channel a lot, but the Sammy bashing is growing old. Tell us some compelling stories about crimes you committed. That's all we want in this genre. Most of our lives are average and boring. We come here to hear how men with balls beat the system and committed crimes, not for a history lesson. Love ya, Mikey. I saw some questionable comments about the validity of Cardinale's opinion of whether Sammy was lying, these lawyers Cardinale, Shargel, and Cultler, were a cut above, they weren't ambulance chasers, these men were at the top of their game, highly skilled litigators, that charged huge fee's for their service, I'm sure there are many stories where lawyers were held over a balcony of a 20 story building for bullshitting.

I’m almost embarrassed to admit this, but because he’s such a good storyteller when Sammy had originally discussed the reasoning behind why he became a rat, I just actually believed hm without putting any thought into how ridiculous and implausible the tale is. it was only when RJ was doing the introduction that I began thinking about Sammy’s claims. The more you think about, the stupider it sounds.

Mikey you should know that without a doubt Gotti is proud of you that you're being loyal to him by doing this. Yes you ratted and you have a hard time dealing with that but I believe Gotti would not only appreciate this but to a degree that you redeemed yourself in his eyes.

EVERY single story he tells about all his criminal acts, from robbing cars as a kid to murders he committed as a mafia member, Sammy ALWAYS makes himself out to be the good bad guy. You cannot convince me that that story happened. Never in a million years. John always knew he would die in jail. He had been going to jail since he was a kid. He wasn't afraid of it and he knew how to live there. Not only that, doing something like what Sammy describes Would have permanently damaged John's reputation which he would have never allowed. Also over the years, Sammy has gone from saying that he thought this was a potential strategy all the way to John told him to his face he was going to try and do it.
