JOHN ILLSLEY - Coming Up For Air - interview with Andy Rawll 

For a band that ceased operations over 25 years ago, Dire Straits' songs still permeate the airwaves and former members, both from the classic original four-piece line-up and subsequent arena-era add-on musos, continue to keep their estimable catalogue alive.
Andy Rawll met founder member John Illsley in London to talk about his excellent latest solo release 'Coming up for air' which evokes the spirit of this old band, without sounding too derivative, particular the title track and the ensuing track 'So it goes'.
