Not paying doesn't matter. Not filing does matter. That's what Al Capone got jailed for. I wasn't able to pay the IRS more than once. There were zero bad consequences. I called them up and said I can't pay that much now. They asked me kindly how much I could manage to pay them per month. I agreed to an extremely low amount and took perhaps 10 or more years to pay what I owed.

Therein lies the starkly negative public perception (and disgust) with this administration and the majority host of politicians, both right and left....a lot of yapping back and forth with ZERO consequences for those who should be in jail and the proud owner of a felony charge. In fact, with an honest, mostly hard working and empathetic citizenry it may be as close to perfection as we can get. However, if it is not properly and fiercely regulated by the people as a whole, it also rots faster than any other form or government I know of. We're looking at it now, and the solution is not changing to a different kind of government that's already proven a myriad of history that it's actually worse. Like I said, I've lived almost 60 years and I've seen it. What worries me the most is the young, still learning, impressionable people who don't know this for a fact. They can be swayed from the truth. Given the condition our government's in currently, VERY EASILY swayed. It's up to the older, more experienced folks to pass along what we know to be true and good, and what works best for the free person.....lest history keeps on slapping us back to square one, I like to think we're better than that. We start with taking out the trash and filling prisons with the derelicts that are currently serving their own selfish needs while selling out millions of their own people. The verdicts are all over the place. Many have appeared before court, but the law ends there because there is no enforcement, only vacant lip-service. It has to stop.

Trump doesn't do tax valuation on his property, just like you don't do the tax assessment on your own property (though it's presumptuous to think you own property); the city and county you reside in do that for you, just like they did it for him.
