Maria Zakharova makes many important points in her interview and the VERY important point that when Russian sources make public statements they do so with authority and the willingness to have their words attributed to themselves and thus they make and hold themselves responsible and accountable to the world. When the western media make ( printed or spoken) allegations about 'whatever' they are generally accompanied by phrases such as 'A person close to the matter but who spoke on condition of anonymity because they are not authorised to speak said....' and of course that means that no oen in the US govt can ever beheld accountable, and it also means that ( very conveniently ) anything that was said can later be denied / dismissed or changed on the grounds that a) the person was not authorised, or b) that whatever was said was misreported from the anonymous 'source'. This is the exact behaviour predicted by writer George Orwell in his 1948 book entitled " 1984 " The Ministry of Truth" Quote " The primary function of the Ministry of Truth is to construct lies that fit with the government's current interpretation of reality." Not to mention that Orwell's 'Newspeak' was what we observe as todays 'political correctness' Quote " Newspeak is a controlled language created by the totalitarian state Oceania as a tool to limit freedom of thought, and concepts that pose a threat to the regime such as freedom, self-expression, individuality, and peace." This is fascinating to me as so much of the time the US Govt are blaming Russia for leaks when in fact in every US newspaper and other media it's being reported that unauthorised persons INSIDE the US Govt are in fact leaking information on pretty much every subject ... but it's only a problem if (like Bradley Manning - Awarded the National Defense Service Meda, National Defense Service Medal Global War on Terrorism Service, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and Army Service Ribbon) leaks the actual TRUTH ???
