Me: John Krasinsky has really grown as an artist and people need to stop limiting him to comedy because of The Office. Also me: hehe funny jim with beard
I love how they take sounds out when we see through the little girl's perspective. I actually didn't see her hearing aid in the first scene, but realized she is deaf through the lack of sound during her shots. Great job!
F.B.I people have been associating him with jim for years. i’m talking like 10 years or so since the show got enough popularity. maybe it would feel good at first yeah, but it will get obnoxious.
It's really amazing to see this side of John, the passion and intelligence he put into every scene of the movie are what make it so great. Can't wait for your next film!
Well Dwight and Pam are good friends so he'd be okay with it, now Angela.... i don't think Angela likes her very much. I don't know how she'd feel about that.
That part was insanely loud! But I totally understand why they made it so eat shattering. It reminds me of how you would try to be quite (like if you enter a room where someone is sleeping) but every little noise you make sounds 10x amplified. This film was brilliant!
I saw this just a couple days ago. I loved it. It was really clever and heart felt and bad a**. You could really feel the love between the family and the tension as well. I kid you not when I say that the theater was completely silent. It was like everyone was too scared to make a sound, and that the monster would either come for them, in the theater, or the family on the screen. Very very good.
No scary movies are scary to me since i grew up but some could have a creep factor like if you were there type stuff or if it was real. I loved the plot and it was deep and well done to the end and i even felt bad the(SPOILER ALERT)---------------------dad died because he made you actually root for them. Most movies now make me want the main protagonist dead do to bs they do or over the top dumb dramatic moments the average person wouldn't do. This one was actually heart felt and you felt bad for even the lil girl at the beginning and the looks on their faces said it all and made the movie much more surreal and it was an experience to see a silent movie done so well. He deserves and oscar and nomination just for his delivery on this movie. He is also a genuine heartfelt guy very watchful of things and you can say overall relateble. Loved the movie rewatched it 2 more times. I hope part 2 if it goes on can be just as good with out wearing out things that made its source because as human beings when we seen something we remember and it gets old. I think it was a 5 star movie and possibly with annihilation the only movie i liked outside Marvel movies. its hard to make me like all the scary horror films with bad plot over the top dumb stuff they do and over dramatic moments.
Well although im unperfect you could of said sir you ruined this for me by not putting spoiler and next time don't do that again. I understand you were excited and enjoyed the movie. Since i am more of a human with intellect and not the person you think i am. I will apologize for my mistake but you could apologize for being over the top and we can be good humans and enjoy the day how bout that sir??
This is a truly terrifying scene in this incredible films. Thank you John Krasinski for creating one of the most tense and incredible horror movies of all time.
mike portugal Saying it's "kinda early" has no meaning in this context. Why too early? Has the movie not come out? Have we not seen it? To say it is "one of the most tense and incredible horror movies of all time" is not to say that it is the best horror movie that will ever be made. Even then, Noah said it is ONE of the most tense and incredible -- didn't say it IS the definitive best.
xxstephywolfxx Horror movies are supposed to be horrifying, i.e. scary, tense, and unnerving. This film was definitely tense and unnerving, but not scary.
John Krasiniski has made an absolutely fantastic gem of a movie. Using virtually no dialogue other than music & sounds he conjures a well suspensful thriller. I'm so happy for him with his success as a first time director. I can't wait to see what he does next.Great breakdown of a scene.💥💖
I guess it is because they came to invade the planet and kill the people.... But since they are blind they rely on sound to get their job done. Also they might recognise their voices..
I know you're probablyjoking but you should really take a look at the script. The whole thing is amazing, they designed the text according to the sound design directions. It's the only script I've ever thought was actually engaging to read.
This movie was tremendous. I can't recall the last time a movie made me feel this kind of tension and it was beautifully done. John Krasinski is awesome.
I don’t get how they could play Monopoly quietly.... Me and my sibling can’t last 5 minutes without screaming at each other for not rolling the dice on time.....
I also LOVE that they used an actress who is deaf because it's soo important to have representation. Her acting was AMAZING as well so she totally deserved this role! But I just love that they did this, it's important that everyone has representation. Deaf people, Black people, Disabled people, Latino's, etc. and there's so much room for it so I just love that he did this for her and the community! We are ALL better for it.
Lexie Wilson yes! i’m latina and i very rarely see any other latinos in movies and tv. it’s weird when latinos are all around me where i live but i only see a few on screen.
I HATE horror and I'm the biggest scaredy cat, but I really liked this movie! It's not necessarily scary, but your on the edge of your seat the entire time!
This was hands down one of the best acting movies I’ve seen all year and his performance and facial expressions were powerful! His scene where he had an encounter with the creature on the roof was the best acted scene I’ve seen so far in years! Emily killed this role! She’s proven over and over again how amazing she is as an actress with this surpassing her masterful performance in the Girl on The Train, her role in this movie was theee best performance ever! The kids were all great even the wee one in a box! My heart hurt at the 🚀 rocketship scene! I truly didn’t expect to like this movie so much but I Loved it!
Can you imagine how hard to would be to not he able to laugh or talk? Like it would drive me crazy to not just use my full voice every once in a while. You can't listen to music or sing. **Okay let me clarify I haven't seen the movie but I really want to. I did not intend on my comment being taking so literally. Obviously they could use headphones, and still communicate verbally. I meant that I would miss the freedom of making noise and hearing noise in a general sense. I also completely understood that this movie takes place in a post apocalyptic future where music already exsisted. Didn't think I'd have to explain that when I originally posted this comment but okay. Im glad some people understood the point I was trying to get across.
Yasemin BAHAR how was music even created if you can’t even hear it? you don’t know what sounds good together and all music must be created to hear. It’s not like you can strap headphones up to a cello 🤔 I wonder how they did it
If there’s a movie I want to watch, and it’s in Dolby, there’s not other format and theater I’m watching it in. I never liked imax to begin either either. It felt like was watching movies with a huge boxed screen 📺
I find horror films so cheesy, and not worth watching until they're on Netflix or Hulu, especially ones dealing with aliens and weird apocalyptic scenarios, HOWEVER, this film is so unique in the filming style, the story, the actors, etc. Its the only horror movie that has made my cry, and I regret waiting so long to watch it. I'll definitely be in the theater for the sequel.
Exactly most horror movies are the same price to watch them even though I know they're going to have the same ending in the same plot but this was so different and I really enjoyed it even though he died
This movie is easily in my top 5 of all time. Not just horror, but all genres. While it is considered a "horror or thriller" it's so much more than that. It's beautiful and emotional and nerve-wracking. This is one of those movies I've been waiting for, as a horror fan, for forever. I'm 33 years old, which isn't THAT old, but to have an American-made horror film touch on so many different emotions with a really amazing storyline is seriously refreshing! Anyone who isn't quite convinced about going to see this movie in the theater, GO! This is 100% a need to see in the theater movie. It's so good!
This scene was definitely one of the best scenes in the whole film. And what really sold me to it was how Johns eyes dart around after having put out the fire. John is a master of conveying emotion with only a subtle look and he was the perfect choice to act in this, and direct the young actors to convey the correct facial expressions.
This was authentic and legitimately fantastic, to have a director go through some key points on making a film, and to get into such detail when it comes to the sources of material!
This movie is a must watch. Its one of those movies where you are going to be referencing the cinematic ques, scenes, and the beauty of how well the actors are so well in-tuned with their characters. Take a date, family, or go alone, its worth the ticket, popcorn, and drink.
Loved this film. I even think it deserves an oscar like Get Out (cause I loved it more than Get Out). Well thought and well executed. Kudos to Mr. John Krasinski
In theatre: *Everybody watching movie* Me: *loudly munches popcorn* Everybody else: *I N T E N S E G L A R E* *lantern falls in the movie* Everybody else: *I N T E N S E S C R E A M*
I absolutely love and adore this movie so much . The sound design is perfect and the tension is so high that I got a major headache after the film because I was too nervous LOL . Great great job ❤️
