He has thrived in this environment as it is so much better than the fake talk show format that isn't really his. All these interviews have been much more creative and fun than the standard "come, you say some bit that we talked about ahead of time and we some random chat, you plug whatever, and over".

I remember when my wife and I saw the first Quiet Place in theaters. Someone had coughed half-way through the movie, everyone shushed them, then we all laughed. Most of the movie you could hear a pin drop in the theater. Definitely the most memorable movie watching experience we've had.

Not sure if you remember The Crying Game. During the "big reveal", a person that I didn't know seated next to me kicked me and I freaked out for a second. I don't think she did it on purpose but it was definitely a memorable moment.

It was really amazing how people in the theater kind of followed the characters in the movie. The person next to me was trying to open a candy wrapper and making far too much noise ... everyone around him just gave him a look!

I also appreciate not having a crowd drowning out conversations. It makes interviews seem more intimate, in a relaxed way. Steven just needs a side kick to take the pressure off the guest. This seems perfect to me.

I watched A Quiet Place with a blind person with the SAP (audio description) feature on. Very well done. Because there was no pesky dialogue the AD actually described things I could have missed. Well done and thank you.

Saw the first AQP in theaters with a full audience- wow! Within 5 minutes, every one of us had put down our snacks, and held our collective breaths all the way through the end credits. Surreal and fun movie experience. Can't wait to go see 2!

7:16 to 8:12 - This segment is actually a great lesson on storytelling. We come to stories to relate to other people, even if that person is fictional. Making sure the audience is invested in the characters before the plot crashes down on them feeds into that need. Any writer who can pull that off is a rare breed.

ikr? I was just searching for a comment about the fact that he went to a theater in Miami Florida, where there have been absolutely no COVID-19 safety measures for several weeks, and little enforcement before then. Only half of the population is vaccinated in Miami-Dade County, and it still has an average of 531 new cases per day. Totally safe. I assume (hope) that they all had to provide proof of vaccination, although as we know that can be forged. Also slightly peeved that John Krasinski said "now that people feel comfortable" going back to theaters, instead of "now that people are SAFE" going back to theaters ( still unsafe for the unvaccinated). It's been so infuriating to hear people (esp public figures) continuously downplay pandemic safety measures by framing them as an issue of personal comfort, not necessary health precautions backed by science.

I used to work in the city for about 5 years every Friday I stopped at my favourite Cafe for a chocolate milkshake with 1 shot of Bailey's and 1 shot of Kahlua It was the best way to start a Friday!!!

This is brilliant. Stephen and his wife, just hanging out with guests. It feels so much less scripted. Not that conversation on talk shows are necessarily scripted. This just feels like a small dinner party. A few people, hanging out, having a good time. This is so much better than a full studio, heavily edited episode! More please!
