I met JLH at the Vancouver airport 90/91 When I walked up towards him ( sitting in a wheelchair ) a large man stepped in front of me, so I said I was a huge fan of his, and had been for many years. He turned and said "hey hooks you want to talk to this guy" Mr. Hooker looked right at me and said yeah alright. When he shook my hand, I remember thinking to myself (how it was as soft as a pillow). He asked "Are you coming to the show" I replied that I seen him at The Yale a few years back, and that I just had my own show and was on my way home. He asked "what's the name of your band"? I replied I didnt play in a band, but that I was a potter/sculptor. He replied without missing a beat "I can dig it!" What a classy man. I'll never forget that conversation and I even got his autograph. ) ❤️

What other albums and singers have you added after JLH? I suppose what I mean is, the JLH album goes for about 59 minutes but this RU-vid title goes for over two hours. The padding tracks are players I don’t recognise but they do sound good.

I got to meet a guitar player who played for John Lee Hooker. Who played with John Lee Hooker when John Lee Hooker lived in Detroit Michigan. They called him 'Johnny Lee'

Johnny Lee was fantastic and his music, the old school blues is one of a kind. Not many, if any are original and unique like JLH. He has inspired me more than any blues player for the past 40 years. I hope he trusted in Christ as LORD. I would love to see & meet him.

My Dad took me to SF Blues festival a few years when I was just a kid- I remember Hooks: the dark glasses and gruff voice, how the whole park seemed to sink into a easy rolling groove when he dimed a slow blues for what seemed like a half hour ❤ They don’t make them like that anymore 🔥

I was born 1950, a youngster, not even preteen during this decade, but I had older cousins born right after WWII, this was their generation. Mine was the 60's. But I love this music because they listened to this.
