I swear I was the first human being to hear this song 7 years ago...I clicked on a link and this popped up and I was blown away.....soundtrack of my life!!
This guy really is a Legend. What a song, what a performance, what a bloke. Him and Mayer should do something. Just throwing that out there. No need for royalties.
Lord have mercy...sometimes we have to recognize life is too short to quibble over one chord. We are all imperfect beings who won't get every endeavor 100% on the mark 100% of the time. God bless him and let him continue on his road to hold up organic music in the days of autotune.
I was a music conference in DC, what seems like YEARS ago now. During the music intermission, I got up to call my husband....until John started playing....and then singing....I turned around and sat my butt right back down. Needless to say I didn't call. I sat in awe. Suspended in the time zone you put me in. I was so impressed that I wrote down your name (which I had to ask someone for). Within a week.....it was on every station in the DMV! Love you....still. - Tia
Went to see john for the second time last night, in my world he is the best live artist bar none, pure quality, bring on the next twenty years of his songwriting.
Thank GOD there are people like you ! I was about to wright the same darn thing about our lovely man. But i'm telling you im fed up with defending, im just gonna start screwing that volume up, relax and feel his good music cruising through my body and wrapping up my soul like a fine piece of silk cloth ;) Cuz thats just how deep this mans voice and music touches my soul and 'm glad that i've found my true music genre. and if all of these youtube haters still lost then let them be, we are pure;)
I can't believe he can make that tiny keyboard sound so loud and amazing. true talent. and I've heard him live, his voice is so powerful.and at the end of this when he starts doing the "take it slow" really softly i melted!
ok, few times is the actually composer responsible for every single part of a song in today's industry.. you may be right. I was just stating that will.i.am is credited for writing this song.. i wasn't pointing to any possible errors in john legend's playing
he always changes the key to limit in live performances, its easier especially on short notice performances. They probably asked him to play at the station. He also changes a half step down or even a whole step down in live performances. Thats a hard to sing. It has a wide range going as low a F in the original key all the way up to a Bb.
this is what pisses me off about music on youtube these day, the stupid musical know it all's commenting about how this and that isnt good enough for their ears or how something should be done to change it , JUST ENJOY THE FUCKING SONG.
All blaspheming apart (sXMiLA) this is a strong song and it hits the spot. Wish l could deliver in a similar way-ah well..^^ Talent is not just a concept to be sure oh my brotherz.
What note did he supposedly mess up? I've listened through a couple times now, and I've yet to hear anything that even sounds even a little off, let alone bad.
Who cares if he missed a freakin' chord. Point is that this man is one of the most naturally talented people left in the industry now days. Especially since he won a grammy for writing this song. It's an amazing song regardless and he can play it however he wants to. Wether he missed a chord or not, who cares. The point is that John Legend is ridiculously talented and sounds better live then recorded. Grow up and stop fussing about stupid things.
you, me, fallstonfootball guy and the world. Come on, "this time we take it slow..." sung with THAT voice? whew... who wouldnt get seduced by the soulful, husky, dulcet song? This man KNOWS Music like a lover. mm mmm. lol. sorry, but it's true!
