John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan Speak Following Draft Day 3 

People hating on this draft class have the most casual takes. Our WR room needed bolstering. Ronnie Bell is not it. Danny Gray was a Trey Lance compliment and hasn’t worked out. Aiyuk is the only dude who consistently gets separation and in the Super Bowl they were clamped.

I really liked this draft class. They actually drafted directly for need and got a lot of guys that feel like day one contributors.

Assessing draft picks can’t accurately happen until the guys have played. Some will bomb, others won’t. I’ll be patient and trust in the process.

This a good draft for us. I say a B+

Lots of people here that think they could be GMs. All I can say is love my team Go Niners!! I’d say after the last few seasons they might actually know what their doing

I’m no arm chair coach, but I liked our draft. Only time will tell.

What about Defensive Tackle. Out defense should be our strength

Wouldn't have minded a corner in the first, I understand not taking an OL because there really wasn't one to take in the first at that moment. Pearsall does look like a stud though. Wouldn't have minded Tampa instead of going RB but that's mostly me being paranoid in regards to our DB depth. Overall, solid group, will be excited to see how they do.

You can always tell how they dont want to f up any ongoing trade negotiations

Didn't exactly shore up the O line but not a bad draft..John and kyle should switch roles..Lynch would be an awesome coach and shanahan's heady enough to be a decent GM..

Our 1st pick and priority should have been an offensive tackle monster with long arms. We picked a WR who in my opinion is not as good as the receiver picked with the very next pick in the draft by the Panthers. Offense can't go anywhere if we can't protect the Q.B or whoever has the ball.

Shanahan looks like he missed out on his favorite 7th rounder.

None of them will see the field both WR will be in dog house Kyle will use the rookies once he run the veterans to ground

Biggest need was OL and you draft a small armed guard and a guy who barely has long enough arms for Center. A C- draft

To sum up the draft, the Niners reached to draft a receiver who was projected to go in the mid to late second round in round one, drafted a CB in the second round who won't start for at least 3 years, drafted an undersized OT in the third round, a safety who put up mediocre numbers in college in the fourth round, a running back who won't have any significant playing time in the fourth round as there's no way he's better than CMC, Mitchell and Mason, another receiver who won't have any playing time in the fourth round, another undersized offensive lineman in round six, and a linebacker who doesn't have the athleticism to play with Warner and Greenlaw. No, the 49ers did not adequately address any of their major needs in the 2024 NFL Draft.
