When the Bible talks about "tongues" it's talking about real and different languages that are intelligible, known and understood by other people.

Speaking in " tongues" is actually one spiritual language. The translators pluralized it because more than one believer at a time was speaking it. The translators didn't have the spiritual insight to tell the difference. That spiritual insight only comes when one has recieved the Holy Spirit. With myself, I had no church upbringing. On a Friday night, I recieved the Holy Spirit and spoke in " tongues" When I arrived home I decided to read a little from the Word before bed. When I opened it and began reading, I was amazed. Suddenly, it had taken much more depth and I became aware of the Spirit I had recieved guiding me in understanding what I was reading. In Acts ch.2 when the believers' recieved the Holy Spirit and began speaking in "tongues" they were all speaking in the same spiritual language. The miracle for the men in the crowd was one of hearing in their native tongues what the believers were saying in one spiritual language. That's why the Word records that the men in the crowd three times questioned how the believers were speaking in our native languages to direct our attention to that truth.

@happydays6291 Exactly ! Speaking in " tongues" is a spiritual language. It has three operations: 1)The initial evidence that one has recieved the Holy Spirit and their private prayer language for self edification( 1Cor.14:4). 2) The gift of speaking in " tongues" thats' purpose is to be interpreted in a church setting by one who has that gift for the edification of the church gathering. 3) A sign to unbelievers. Operations #1 and #3 are both operating in Acts ch.2.

It happened to meyesterday. I was confronted by a man who told me because I couldn’t speak in tongues I wasn’t saved and I wasn’t filled with the Holy Spirit . I told him I didn’t believe the gift of tongues was for today and that it was all babble. I told I didn’t know anyone in my church who spoke in tongues and any way if someone did there would need to be someone to translate. He got onto little gods and I told him that there was only one God he said I misunderstood it. He got onto healing he had been healed of Asthma and was allergic to lots of things but didn’t need antihistamines I said I didn’t doubt him but lots of Christians have prayed for me and I haven’t been healed. I said God chooses who to heal not us. He was very upset when I left

Very well done segment. Charismatics completely disregard what Paul said about looking crazy if they all spoke at once, if someone comes in he will think they are crazy. I went to Calvary Chapel for years, just disregarding that most people there believed in tongues. They didn’t do it during services or even in an home groups. But when a new pastor came, that I hoped would be selected, but when he focused a lot on tongues in the services I left and never returned. If you watch their instructions on how to speak in tongues it is just the same as Sid Roth, just start speaking gibberish and the Holy Spirit will take over. What a ridiculous way that almighty God would bestow a gift to someone. Why not pick up a crippled man and say “start walking when I let go!” And he breaks a leg because he didn’t have enough faith?

For many years, as a very young woman at Calvary Chapel Anaheim Hills (before it became Vineyard) I believed I was unsaved because I could not speak in tongues. They said it was unconfessed sins and to come back next week, but it never happened regardless of how many times I returned. I spent hours and hours quite literally in my closet (as they told me) confessing over and over every sin I could remember in my short life weeping and begging Jesus to accept me as he accepted all those others I saw. I won’t say how, but He did tell me I was forgiven (My Precious Lord, My PRECIOUS Lord) and I was led to a sound church. Raised by atheists, I knew no better but mercy was given me. I can feel only deep sadness for those being led astray, but far stronger emotions for the wolves doing the misleading! Thank you, Kris, for letting me write my bit of testimony here. Speaking and praying in tongues is Biblical. The problems begin with the unbiblical applications and inaccurate teaching surrounding them. The story you told is typical of what is taught about tongues. It really is a shame. The Bible is very clear on the instructions of the topic. We just need to read and follow God's word!

Either the Bible is true or it is not. The Bible is pro Tongues. There is no contradiction in the Word of God. Cessationism is not scriptural and that is admitted on both sides. Granted it may not be practiced rightly, and opponents will capitalize on that, but let me tell you from my experience being a Christian since 1978 that the real thing exists. There is genuine Pentecostal fruit to be had. And just like the 10 spies who gave an evil report of the Promised Land there are those who say today God has ceased doing Wonders. Were not the 10 spies cessationists? They saw Miracles first hand, went through the Red Sea, etc. But to them God ceased doing great things and they were like grasshoppers before their foes. Don't buy into that. Hebrews 3 warns us of this type of unbelief, endangering their entering into God's rest: "So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief." You do not have to speak in Tongues but it would be grave error to come against it.

‘Tongues’ (read, *‘languages’* ) - the divine gift, is the God given ability to effortlessly learn to speak and be understood through real-language barriers. It is not xenoglossy, nor is it the self-created non-cognitive non-language utterance of modern tongues-speech.
@Rhantismos23
@Rhantismos23 Год назад
How do you know modern tongues speech is not real languages? The language could be extinct language or modern language somewhere in the world. Spiritual gifts were in operation during the time of the church fathers so therefore they still continued after the canon was closed
@kavikv.d.hexenholtz3474
@kavikv.d.hexenholtz3474 Год назад
@@Rhantismos23 There are (unfortunately) absolutely no documented cases of xenoglossy - anywhere. Thousands, if not tens of thousands, of examples of tongues-speech have been studied. Not *one* was ever found to be a real rational language, living or dead. Despite this, the tongues-speaking community is rife with such examples. The frequency that they are reported suggests that tongues as xenoglossy is relatively common. Given the amount of allegedly attested examples of xenoglossy reported by Pentecostal/Charismatic Christians, if one were to apply this attestation to even a relatively small sampling of say 2,000 glossic utterances, it is more than reasonable to conclude that at minimum, a conservative estimate would suggest that at least 50 of these samples would yield a real, rational language. As stated above, this has never happened. Modern tongues speech is what it is - non-cognitive non-language utterance. Unlike gibberish, glossolalia seeks to mimic language, and in some cases does a fairly good job of it. Despite this however, glossolalia/tongues-speech is not language. I should add that I'm a linguist and have studied this phenomenon for several years. I kind of wish it were a language, that would be pretty neat and fascinating to study; but alas, it fails even the most basic test that defines 'language' itself.

@kavikv.d.hexenholtz3474
@kavikv.d.hexenholtz3474 Год назад
@@Rhantismos23 There is absolutely nothing mysterious about Biblical "tongues" - and there is only one type - when referring to something spoken, they are nothing more than real, rational language(s); usually, but not always, unknown to those listening to them, but always known by the speaker(s) - it’s their native language (in some cases, it is a language the speaker has learned). In contrast, the “tongues” Pentecostal and Charismatic Christians are producing today is an entirely self-created phenomenon. It is non-cognitive non-language utterance; random free vocalization based upon a subset of the existing underlying sounds (called phonemes) of the speaker’s native language, and any other language(s) the speaker may be familiar with or have had contact with. It is, in part, typically characterized by repetitive syllables, plays on sound patterns, alliteration, assonance, and over-simplification of syllable structure. It is also interesting to note that any and all phonological rules (rules governing how sounds are put together in a given language - what is allowed and what is disallowed) governing a speaker's native language, will _also_ govern their tongues-speech. Further, this subset of phonemes mentioned above typically contains only those sounds which are easiest to produce physiologically. Occasionally some speakers will use two or more subsets of phonemes to generate glossolalia, producing what, to them, sounds like two (or more) distinct “tongues languages”, thus claiming to be able to speak in “divers tongues”. There is absolutely _nothing_ that “tongues-speakers” are producing that cannot be explained in relatively simple linguistic terms. Conversely, when it comes to something spoken, there are absolutely _no_ Biblical references to “tongues” that do not refer to, and cannot be explained in light of, real rational language(s), though it may not be the explanation you want to hear, and it may be one which is radically different from what you believe, or were taught. _Nowhere in the Bible is modern tongues-speech advocated or evidenced._ “Praying in the Spirit” does _not_ refer to the words one is saying. Rather, it refers to how one is praying. In the three places it is used (Corinthians, Ephesians, and Jude), there is absolutely zero reference to 'languages' in connection with this phrase. “Praying in the Spirit” should be understood as praying in the power of the Spirit, by the leading of the Spirit, and according to His will. I'm not doubting or questioning the 'tongues experience'; glossolalia as the spiritual tool that it is, can be very powerful and, for many people, the experience is profound. As one commenter put it, “Speaking in tongues distracts the ego/analytical/conscious mind while leaving the subconscious (the heart) wide open to import the divine." Both the spiritual and physical benefits of using this tool are also well documented. Again though, it is important to note that this same statement can be made for virtually _any_ other culture that practices glossolalia. Religious and cultural differences aside, the glossolalia an Evenki Shaman in Siberia, a vodoun priestess in Togo and a Christian tongues-speaker in Alabama are producing are in no way different from each other. They’re all producing their glossolalia in the exact same way; they just have different explanations and beliefs as to why they’re doing it, and where it comes from. It is only in certain Christian denominations where is it construed as something it never was. ‘Tongues’ (read, *‘languages’* ) - the divine gift, is the God given ability to effortlessly learn to speak and be understood through real-language barriers. It is not xenoglossy, nor is it modern tongues-speech.

Please hear this. In a moment when my life was falling apart I had no one to talk to. I Googled 1-800 prayer lines and called the first one I found. I found myself on a conference call with women who were praying. They knew someone joined the conference call because there is always a ding to let you know someone joined. They said Watchmen of the night how can I pray for you. I said absolutely nothing and spoke no words. One of them said sir are you calling me because of alcohol? I said yes. I then started to cry. I said nothing else and then she asked me if my wife had just left me? I said yes how did you know? She then said because I know God and God knows you. I then opened up and started to talk in detail about my life and she prayed for me. At one point she started to pray in tongues and I had never heard that before. I heard tongues and the Holy Spirit spoke directly to this woman about the man who she was speaking to. It was a 100% God moment that she knew what I was going through without me saying a word in addition to that I heard her speak in tongues. So maybe I am crazy I don't know but I go to an Assembly of God Church and I have experienced God's love like no other place. Some people there also speak in tongues from time to time. Can someone please tell me their opinion on this? I love my brothers in Christ whether or not they are Southern Baptist or Pentecostal but sometimes things happen that we cannot explain and yes I do believe in the gifts of the Spirit today. John McCarthur says in this video that God won’t give gifts to people with bad theology, implying his theology is better. Well Jesus says “in that day, many will come to me saying ‘Lord, Lord, did I not cast out demons in your name, heal in your name, and do many mighty miracles in your name’ and I will say to them ‘get away from me you workers of lawlessness , I never knew you.’” Well that means that God does in fact give gifts to people with bad theology because God Himself says He will do miracles through people who aren’t even saved. (King Saul for instance prophecies by the Holy Spirit in 1 Sam 19:24.) The Apostle Paul says that there are angelic tongues and that if someone speaks angelic tongue it is their spirit that is being edified, not their mind. So it’s not a tongue of men that the mind might be edified but an angelic tongue that their spirit might be edified. You can judge a tree by its fruit. I know many Christians in many denominations, and I know many Christians who have the gift of tongues. They are not faking it, and if they are not faking it they I can only assume that they have the gift by the Holy Spirit. A good tree cannot bare bad fruit and light does not have fellowship with darkness. I urge you to visit other denominations (not just charismatic but all denominations) and not just visit them but get to know people in each denomination. Have a conversation and get to know them. Know their fruit and see for yourself if those who claim the gift of tongues indeed bare good fruit. Or are they all wolves? Because frankly that is an accusation of demonic origins that has spun up a mind of its own in a church that has lost its unity.

When a person speaks in an unknown tongue for the first time; he is not exercising a Spiritual Gift, he is receiving the giver of the gifts. Paul says this about unknown tongues in, 1Co 14:21 In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord. 1Co 14:22 Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe. in other words, there are two kinds of tongues those that can be understood and those that cannot be understood. Those that can be understood are called prophesying, and those that cannot be understood are a sign to let a person know without a doubt that they have received the Holy Ghost. This is to dispel all unbelief about receiving the Holy Ghost. In this sense, it serves the unbeliever who doesn't know if he has the Holy Ghost or not. Paul gives reference to, ISA 28:11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. ISA 28:12 To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear. The rest is the Holy Ghost baptism. Reverse 28:11 to Matthew 11:28 and Jesus says, Mat 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. if a person is not repented, and baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, they will not receive the Holy Ghost. Jesus said, "You must be born of the water and of the Spirit or you cannot enter the kingdom of God. The Holy Ghost is the kingdom of God.

Speaking in tongues is even for today, Jesus stated that it is one of the signs that will be given to those who follow Him. Not everyone has the same gift. Some people state that it will be an earthly language that will be from another country, but Jesus said His followers who have this gift will speak with NEW tongues, not "other" tongues. I spoke in tongues once, and I was not asking for the gift, I was not seeking it, I wasn't even thinking about it when it happened, and I wasn't even inside a church when it happened. I was at work and my tongue just started forming words spontaneously, which I did not know. It was pretty quick. I then looked around to see if any of my two co-workers heard, but they seemed to be too busy with their faces in their computers and cell phones. I have even seen elderly women in churches speak in rapid-fire unknown languages so flawlessly that I knew it was not faked.

1 Corinthians:12.1 " Now about spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be ignorant." John Macarthur didn't have nice things to say about speaking in tongues, shows that, like what Paul said, John Macarthur was ignorant about spiritual gifts. Like Paul, I pray in tongues often. In one incident, I was attacked by a demonic spirit when I was sleeping. I woke up and I prayed in tongues to fight against the demonic spirit. Then I realised an angel of the Lord came to defend me and battled against the demonic spirit. And the demonic spirit fled. Jesus gave compassion but people attend Church less today because man like Kenneth Copeland has only greed to fleece the flock. Making money off the gullible. I'm not that gullible and you shouldn't be either. Bible tongues had a definite end. They ended by 70 AD, forty years after they began, when the Roman armies destroyed the Jewish nation, Jerusalem, and the temple. Tongues were primarily a sign for unbelieving Jews, because the Jews required signs (Deut 18:21-22; I Cor 1:22; 14:21-22). But once Israel was scattered in judgment, the need for tongues was gone (Acts 2:17-21).

Wait, your a blood bought, born again Christian, and you say you were attacked by a demonic spirit? How does a demonic spirit have the ability to attack one who HAS the Holy Spirit within them? How did you know it was a demonic spirit, and how did you realize that an angel of the Lord came and drove the demonic spirit away? Are their examples in the New Testament of people being attacked AFTER coming to faith in Christ and receiving the Holy Spirit as their helper? He said he thanked God he spoke with tongues. He could not have carried out his ministry without tongues as he ministered to foreigners who spoke numerous languages. No gift of the Holy Spirit was given for personal edification. Tongues were actual languages not incoherent gibberish. Tongues were a sign unto the Jews that gentiles were given the Holy Spirit.

Not once, in the Bible, are tongues described as known human languages. We observe known human languages spoken on the Day of Pentecost, but we cannot assume that only known languages were spoken that day. Tongues has more than 1 purpose. The most important function of tongues is intercession. One of the meanings of Paraklete is, Intercessor. If the Holy Spirit intercedes through the believer, He will most likely do it in a language that the person cannot understand. Romans 8 tells us that He prays through us according to the will of the Father. Tongues is the perfect tool for the Spirit to pray the perfect will of God through the authoritative voice of the believer, without having it censored by human reasoning, or having timidity rise up in the person and cause them to refuse to pray what needed to be prayed. 1 Cor. 14:2 says that we are NOT speaking to men but to God. No need to have a known human language, if you're not speaking to men at all. Since Satan knows every human language, it is necessary for tongues to be unknown to him. He has no defense against intercession in unknown tongues, nor can he anticipate what was prayed in the Spirit, consequently, he will attack that particular gift more than any other. Satan is the author of cessationism.

Any Christian in their right mind is against faking tongues. Tongues (if you have been taught correctly) is an amazing gift and blessing. There is ZERO "weird" about it. J McA has zero clue about tongues and is the last person I would view as an authority on it. Does it get abused? Name something that doesn't. How many false or bad teachers are out there that speak English? If there is one thing the enemy wants to do, it is to disconnect God's people from his power. To claim that "I speak Chinese" would be wrong. No, all I can do is go where God wants me to go, knowing that his equipping is within me. Speaking in tongues is wonderful and VERY normal for a Christian.

@zcardman2007
@zcardman2007 Месяц назад
@@ao4514 I believe that there is error in many places regarding the Gifts, and I do not defend that. If someone teaches that Gifts come JUST by the act of instruction, they are in error. I believe the Gifts can come at the initial time of believing Jesus (Acts 10:44-46) or at a later time to an existing believer by receiving a special "application" from Holy Spirit, who is already living inside them. (as we see in Paul's example in Acts 19:6) I believe the Gifts are guaranteed to any believer who asks in faith, and a part of releasing faith centers around what one believes, and instruction regarding the Gifts allows the believer to get past their "programmed" doubts. The problem with your comment is that every disciple wanting to grow in the Christian life needs instruction in almost everything. The enemy and the world have "put down" speaking in tongues for a long time, and social media has made it easy to do. In Acts 2, there were mockers "making fun of it", but there were enough wise people there to listen to Peter and ignore them. (The Bible ALWAYS ridicules mockers.) JMcA and others would have fit in well with the Acts 2 mockers. Proper instruction allows a person to know what to expect and how the Gifts apply in daily life, which then helps to open their mind and get the "roadblock" of the natural mind out of the way . Remember that "The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned." (1 Corinthians 2:14) So, while instruction on the Gifts, alone, does not instill the Gifts, it is as relevant and and as viable as preaching the Gospel, especially in a time of so much ridicule of the Gifts coming from the spiritual enemy that has infiltrated the church.

If Holy Spirit was in control of the use of the gifts, why would Paul have had to correct the Corinthians? Yes, the gifts are from Holy Spirit, who communes with my spirit, but also remember that my spirit is subject to my soul. Holy Spirit does not override my will, and with tongues, I must choose to participate with Holy Spirit by moving my mouth. "For you can all prophesy one by one, so that all may learn and all be encouraged, and the spirits of prophets are SUBJECT TO THE PROPHETS. For God is not a God of confusion but of peace." I grew up in a pentecostal church that the pastor ended up diverting alot from the charismatic movement. He began teaching a lot of sermons against heretic teachings among certain charismatic groups. People expecting to walk into a hard core pentecostal church would leave because they felt the spirit of God was not in our church and that we sounded more like a baptist church "boring" but one thing we never stopped was believing the gift of tongues. There is no where in scripture that truly defines it stopped. Our church was a continuist church. Tongues never stopped, and that if it was done it should be in order like Paul teaches in the book of Corinthians. I have been given the gift and sometimes I worship my God in tongues and in one occasion I spoke in tongues in church and another person had the interruption of it, while everyone else was silent and receiving. Now am I better than someone who doesn't speak, 100% NO! Does it determine my salvation, NO! It is a gift, like any other gift. YES! I love MacArthur and till this day I hear most of his teachings but when it comes to tongues I can genuinely say I disagree. 1 Corinthians 14 Pursue love, and earnestly desire the spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy. 2 For one who speaks in a tongue speaks not to men but to God; for no one understands him, but he utters mysteries in the Spirit. 3 On the other hand, the one who prophesies speaks to people for their upbuilding and encouragement and consolation. 4 The one who speaks in a tongue builds up himself, but the one who prophesies builds up the church. 5 Now I want you all to speak in tongues, but even more to prophesy. The one who prophesies is greater than the one who speaks in tongues, unless someone interprets, so that the church may be built up. 6 Now, brothers,[a] if I come to you speaking in tongues, how will I benefit you unless I bring you some revelation or knowledge or prophecy or teaching? 7 If even lifeless instruments, such as the flute or the harp, do not give distinct notes, how will anyone know what is played? 8 And if the bugle gives an indistinct sound, who will get ready for battle? 9 So with yourselves, if with your tongue you utter speech that is not intelligible, how will anyone know what is said? For you will be speaking into the air. 10 There are doubtless many different languages in the world, and none is without meaning, 11 but if I do not know the meaning of the language, I will be a foreigner to the speaker and the speaker a foreigner to me. 12 So with yourselves, since you are eager for manifestations of the Spirit, strive to excel in building up the church. 13 Therefore, one who speaks in a tongue should pray that he may interpret. 14 For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays but my mind is unfruitful. 15 What am I to do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will pray with my mind also; I will sing praise with my spirit, but I will sing with my mind also. 16 Otherwise, if you give thanks with your spirit, how can anyone in the position of an outsider[b] say “Amen” to your thanksgiving when he does not know what you are saying? 17 For you may be giving thanks well enough, but the other person is not being built up. 18 I thank God that I speak in tongues more than all of you. 19 Nevertheless, in church I would rather speak five words with my mind in order to instruct others, than ten thousand words in a tongue. 20 Brothers, do not be children in your thinking. Be infants in evil, but in your thinking be mature. 21 In the Law it is written, “By people of strange tongues and by the lips of foreigners will I speak to this people, and even then they will not listen to me, says the Lord.” 22 Thus tongues are a sign not for believers but for unbelievers, while prophecy is a sign[c] not for unbelievers but for believers. 23 If, therefore, the whole church comes together and all speak in tongues, and outsiders or unbelievers enter, will they not say that you are out of your minds? So, I guess, J Macarthur thinks he is more educated on this than the Apostle Paul. I don't think so.

My question about this topic is... Why ? God already knows the language I speak. He knows the language everyone speaks. Why would I need to pray in a different language? Why would I need a special prayer language to pray when He already knows what I'm thinking, what I'm feeling and what I need? I think this is sort of a thing people do when they want to show off and show people that God has blessed them and that they are special. And if you can't do it, you don't fit in. God must not like you. If someone is being honest, and they don't know the truth of the gospel because they are new and they just arrived at one of these places it could mess with their faith. The tongues that are stated in 1Cor 12:10 are the same unknown tongues defined in 1Cor 14:2 which is the only biblical definition of the ongoing experience of speaking in tongues. There is a separate gift of the interpretation of these tongues also listed in 1Cor 12:10. The existence of this gift of interpretation of tongues implies that even though the speaking in tongues is unknown it has signification (a meaning) (1 Cor 14:10) and therefore it can and should be interpreted in church 1 Cor 14:13. If speaking in unknown tongues was just gibberish then there would be no meaning to interpret so the bible can't be talking about gibberish. Nor can it be said that is illegitimate. The Bible never says that the gifts of the spirit including speaking in unknown tongues is illegitimate. In fact it says this: 1Cor 1:5 That in every thing you (plural, i.e. referring to the Corinthian Church) are enriched in him, in all utterance (Greek, logos), and in all knowledge; 6 Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you: 7 So that you come behind in no (any) gift; Two of the spiritual gifts in Ch. 12 are specifically stated as being "logos." The word (logos) of wisdom and the word (logos of knowledge). basically that all the spiritual gifts involve some degree of utterance (logos). Speaking in tongues is defined as an utterance in Acts 2:4. Paul said that all of the Corinthian churches utterance is "in Christ" and that they don't "come behind" in any gift. If speaking in unknown tongues was just gibberish then it would totally come behind with respect to other believers or churches. So to call unknown tongues illegitimate or gibberish is contrary to scripture. By the way, speaking in tongues is not a sign of salvation in which the PERSON of Holy Spirit come to dwell WITHIN you which has no outward observation or manifestation Luke 17:21. The disciples first received the person of the Holy Spirit 50 days before Pentecost on the Jewish feast of First Fruits in John 20:22 where Jesus breathed on them and said, "Receive the Holy Spirit. They became the first fruits of the church on the day of first fruit (how appropriate). But rather, speaking in tongues is a sign of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit which as Jesus himself stated in Acts 1:6-8 is when we receive the POWER of the Holy Spirit coming UPON us (compare Luke 4:14 & 18) which is manifested with outward gifts such as speaking in tongues. Peter described this outpouring of the spirit as "this which you can see and hear." So the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is a separate experience from salvation and it does come with outward signs.

If modern day tongues is not the true gift of tongues in `The Book of Acts`- then who or what are these modern day Christians praying to when they are speaking in tongues? Acts 2:6 And at this sound the multitude came together, and they were bewildered, because each one was hearing them speak in his own language. Acts 2:8 And how is it that we hear, each of us in his own native language? Acts 2:11 Both Jews and proselytes, Cretans and Arabians-we hear them telling in our own tongues the mighty works of God. I struggle with how this will end for those that practice contrary to what was said by Apostle Paul. Also the phenomena is accepted by most Christians that don`t practice it.
