John MacArthur teaches the Gospel of John Calvin, you have no choice, God either picked you for heaven or hell, you have no faith only fate. You are not able to choose Jesus Christ for salvation. Calvinism is a Gnostic Pagan doctrine compatible with Catholicism but in opposition to biblical Christianity. ‪@faithforthefamily‬ ‪@StandingForTruthMinistries‬ ‪@parksidebaptistchurch‬ ‪@SlingandStoneVideos‬‪@LancasterBaptistChurch‬

I see more and more “Christians” falling for this type of garbage than ever before. Or the “it’s not works” but you have to work crowd. Or the “relationship” group. I am convinced that we are living through the falling away the Bible warned us about. They’ll be killing us in no time thinking they are doing a work of God. Probably as part of salvation 😂

Galatians 2 , verse 16 . Ephesians 2 , verses 8 and 9 . Roman's 3 , verse 27 and 28 . Roman's 4 , verses 3 to 5 . John 6 , verses 37 to 40 . Roman's 3 , verse 29 ( the work God requires ) . Christ wants us to trust in His finished work on the Cross . He said this finished the sacrifice once for all who will trust Him . He does not recognise the notion of faith in Him plus works . The requirement for salvation is to believe ( trust ) in Him and His shed blood - a completed sacrifice for our sins . Splitting the ' bill' is not required ! Phillipians 1 v.6 is also worth noting .

From your equation it follows then that without the presence of enough good works in one’s life, then there is no salvation. Or more simply stated: one must sufficient good works in order to be saved. But we know from scripture that salvation is apart from works. @fatalheart7382
@fatalheart7382 10 месяцев назад
@@deanmosonik8121 There is no ought in that sentence and I don't appreciate you twisting the meaning by putting that word in there. Anyone who does not obey God is a liar if they say they know Him. The truth is not in them. "We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands." Therefore, these verses are stating that you do not know God apart from obeying Him. That is their direct claim. You are adding words to it to say what you want it to say. Even Jesus echoes this, "Love one another as I have loved you. So you must love one another." Notice he also does not use the word "ought," but the word is "must". It is necessary to obey God. It is necessary to love your brother. The caveat you are looking for is that no one can obey God apart from the Holy Spirit because anyone who is in the realm of the flesh cannot please God. We need to have faith in Jesus' sacrifice because through that faith we have access to the Holy Spirit and can escape the realm of the flesh to truly please God. Without that faith, we cannot please Him. However, confusing that with the idea that you said a prayer and that means you know God is not what the Bible teaches. You must obey Him; "You will know them by their fruit."

Do we REALLY want the Baptism of the Holy Ghost? If so, we need to obey the same GOSPEL that the early disciples obeyed and preached. Todays gospel message has been so watered down that it instructs us to only "believe" and then we are "good to go". But there is no POWER in this and it is NOT the gospel that the disciples of Christ obeyed in the book of Acts. "Believing" is the gateway to "Obeying" the TRUE GOSPEL. However, believing in and of itself is not a complete response to the entire GOSPEL. Jesus said "BELIEVE", yes that is true. But Jesus further expounds "BELIEVE AS THE SCRIPTURES CONTINUE TO SAY" (John 7:38) Jesus instructed His disciples to baptize. He didn't speak this directive just to give them "busy" work. In the scriptures below, we see example after example after example of what the listeners DID after Hearing and Obeying the True Gospel. There is a pattern here. Mat 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Why mention baptism in the scripture if baptism is irrelevant? Because it is relevant. Mar 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. Again, The disciples of Jesus Christ baptized. Joh 4:1 When therefore the Lord knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John, Joh 4:2 (Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples,) Peter is preaching the Gospel. He doesn't say, "for the few of you that feel the need to get baptized, go for it!" No, he says, "Be baptized every one of you..." Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Those that gladly received the Gospel that Peter preached got baptized. Those who rejected the Gospel he preached, didn't. Acts 2:41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: Philip is preaching the same Gospel. As a result, the people believed and as a result of that belief, they got baptized. Acts 8:12 But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. Simon heard the Gospel. He believed and as a result, he got baptized. Acts 8:13 Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done. Philip preached the Gospel to a eunuch. As a result, the eunuch does not say, "I believe in Jesus" and then go on his way. Instead, he wants to get baptized as soon as possible. Acts 8:36 And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? Act 8:38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him. Peter preaches the Gospel. As the people heard, the Holy Ghost descended and filled them. Afterwards, Peter instructs them to get baptized in the Name of The Lord and is alluding that no man should get in the way of that process. He did not say, "It's optional" (Acts 10:37-48) Acts 10:47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? Paul and Silas preach to the keeper of the prison. Paul says, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ." but he does not stop there. He preached the word of the Lord and as a result, the keeper of the prison and his household were baptized. Acts 16:30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? 31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. 32 And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house. 33 And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway. Act 10:48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days. Another instance where people heard the Gospel. They believed and as a result, those who believed were baptized. Act 18:8 And Crispus, the chief ruler of the synagogue, believed on the Lord with all his house; and many of the Corinthians hearing believed, and were baptized. In Acts 19:1-9, Paul is asking a "believer" if they have received the baptism of the Holy Ghost since they believed. They haven't heard about the Holy Ghost. So what does Paul start asking about? He asked how they were baptized. They had been baptized according to John's baptism of repentance. After Paul explained the gospel more clearly (since Jesus had since risen), they got Re-baptized. But this time, it was in the Name of The Lord. Because they repented and got baptized in the name of the Lord, God was obligated to baptize them in the Holy Ghost (Acts 2:38), because it is His Promise (Acts 2:39) If you read further in Acts 19:8-9, you will see that certain people BELIEVED NOT and started speaking evil of the gospel that Paul preached. 19 And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples, 2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. 3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. 4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. 5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied. 7 And all the men were about twelve. 8 And he went into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God. 9 But when divers were hardened, and believed not, but spake evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus. The response to the TRUE GOSPEL includes: 1) Repentance (acknowledging and turning away from sin) and 2) Baptism in the Name of Jesus Christ and as a result, that individual shall 3) Receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Jesus tells what happens when we "BELIEVE AS THE SCRIPTURES CONTINUE TO SAY" John 7:38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. John 7:39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given ; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.) Which Gospel of Jesus Christ will you believe? The one that the early disciples of Jesus preached as documented in the Bible? Or the modified/simplified/modernized version that would be considered "Another gospel" by Paul. Paul says the person that preaches "Another gospel" is accursed. Galatians 1:8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. Galatians 1:9 As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed. Do yourself a HUGE favor. Don't take reckless chances with your salvation. OBEY the TRUE GOSPEL. Acts 2:38 clearly tells us that if we will 1) repent of our sin and 2) get water baptized in the name of Jesus, 3) then God is OBLIGATED to baptize us with the Holy Spirit. Why? Because Acts 2:39 goes on to say that this promise is for every single one of us! So, the question is simple: Have we done steps 1 and 2 so that God can perform step 3 in our lives?

I dont get why people refuse to understand Predestination. God knows all sees end from beginning and knows what choices we will make. We don't. So, the unsaved don't know what their final destination is, even tho they think they do. They could still repent. The NT is clear that God calls those whom he wills, and those whom he wills are conformed, same thing it says in the OT. So why people have to get so upset about this, I don't know. Nothing wrong with anything JMac says here..

Predestination is misunderstood. God had a plan from the beginning what he wanted his children to be like, and that is his Son Jesus. So it was pre-planned that we would conform to the image of Jesus. Of course not all are willing, but God gives opportunity to all.

@bsmith-kf8zd No such thing as hell, in the way you understand it. Read on... Hell: First, it stands for the Hebrew, Sheol, of the Old Testament, and the Greek, Hades, of the Septuagint and New Testament. Much confusion and misunderstanding has been caused through the early translators of the Bible persistently rendering the Hebrew Sheol and the Greek Hades and Gehenna by the word hell. Translators have allowed their personal belief in eternal torment to color their work instead of being consistent in their rendering of the original language words. The word Sheol in Old Testament times, referred simply to the abode of the dead and suggested no moral distinction. The word ‘hell,’ as understood today, is not an accurate translation. The word “hell” thus originally conveyed no thought of heat or torment but simply of a ‘covered over or concealed place.’ In the old English dialect, the expression “helling potatoes” meant, not to roast them, but simply to place the potatoes in the ground or in a cellar. “Hellfire” has been a basic teaching in Christendom for many centuries. Much confusion and misunderstanding has been caused through the early translators of the Bible persistently rendering the Hebrew Sheol and the Greek Hades and Gehenna by the word hell. The simple transliteration of these words by the translators of the revised editions of the Bible has not sufficed to appreciably clear up this confusion and misconception. Thus, the exact meanings of the original-language words have been obscured. Nevertheless, such transliteration and consistent rendering does enable the Bible student to make an accurate comparison of the texts in which these original words appear and, with open mind, thereby to arrive at a correct understanding of their true significance.

Faith is given to a heart that is open to God. Faith produces good work. Salvation is not gained by good work. It is faith in Christ. There are good works that are produced out of ill motives, even by pride. The Holy Spirit indwels the believer hence he, she is able to do good works. It is the evidence of one's faith. But is never a contribution to what Christ has done for one's salvation. Christ death was the perfect sacrifice. He did not acomplish 80% such that you"ll have to achieve 20%, to get 100%. Dont ever think that what he did was lacking. He was offering you 100%. Accept or reject him?

When will JM understand 2 Cor. 5:19? Christ already died for the sins of all. One doesn’t need forgiveness, one needs Christ’s perfection given as a gift. Christ’s very own perfection is given when one believes that all sin has been imputed unto Christ. Paul’s revelation of this is known as the message of reconciliation which is the message of salvation for today. So simple.

Adhering to the "Saved by grace alone" or "Just believe" doctrine while throwing all the other verses out the window is a pretty gutsy move. That would tell me that the apostle Paul was going around, preaching a gospel that goes well beyond "faith alone". Paul said in Galatians 1:9 that everyone is accursed that preaches another gospel than the one he preached. Taking Acts 16:30-31 as the entirety of the bible would tell us that no repentance of any kind is needed for salvation. Acts 16:30 Then he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” 31 And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” In addition, only the person asking what he needed to do to be saved would need to "believe". This infers that the rest of his household could be complete atheists, yet would be saved. Are we having a contest to cherry-pick scripture and water down the Word of God until it has absolutely no effect? If so, the entire population of earth should read ONLY Titus 3:5 and see that Jesus already saved us by His mercy and we don't have to do a single thing. Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost If we take this one verse literally, without reading any other in the bible, one could come to the conclusion that: 1) They don't even need to "Believe in Jesus" to be saved, because this verse doesn't say anything about belief. 2) They don't need to hear the Word 3) They don't need to read the Word 3) No relationship with God/Jesus/Holy Spirit is needed. 4) Hell is completely empty because everyone already got saved by His "mercy". 5) Sin as much as you want to, because repentance (to turn away from sin) wasn't specifically mentioned in this verse, either. If this is the case, then ask yourself: Why is there even a judgment of man (Revelation 20:12-15)? Why is there a Gospel? And why is there even a Bible? It's as if one has come to the point of saying, "Sorry Jesus, but I'm not going to obey Your Gospel because, after all, obeying is a work." If one is going to take the "minimalist" doctrine to the nth degree, then you should end up with something similar to the above. Take this approach and you will eventually find out that God is NOT playing around. He will not be mocked and ignored. In flaming fire, God will take vengeance on those that do not know Him and do not obey the Gospel of Jesus Christ (2 Thessalonians 1:8-9). The Word of God commands us to make our calling and election "sure", not "minimal" (2 Peter 1:10). It also instructs us to study the word to show ourselves approved (2 Timothy 2:15). The best policy is to read the ENTIRE Word of God for yourself to find out what the TRUE DOCTRINE and TRUE GOSPEL really is and then OBEY that gospel. If you are genuinely seeking God on this topic, He will most definitely fill in the blanks on any questions you have. All you have to do is ask Him in sincerity. When the early disciples preached the Gospel, what did the hearers of that Gospel actually do? 1) They repented. 2) They got baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of their sins. 3) They received the Promise of the Father - The baptism of the Holy Ghost. If a person truly BELIEVES the gospel, they will OBEY the gospel. In addition, once that individual experiences the grip of sin unravelling and being removed from their life and the POWER of the Holy Ghost living inside, they will NOT be ashamed of that gospel, even as Paul declared in Romans 1:16. God provided the plan of salvation for all men, women and children when He was under no obligation to do so. This is the very demonstration of His grace and mercy. Arguing against Lordship salvation is not the issue here. The real problem is that one can argue so hard against works that they take it over the edge and completely IGNORE and therefore REJECT the instructions given from the Gospel, stating that those are works as well. THIS IS DECEPTION OF THE HIGHEST ORDER. Do yourself a HUGE favor. Don't take reckless chances with your salvation. OBEY the TRUE GOSPEL.

Repentance is the turning away from sins? Isn’t real repentance the changing of one’s mind about God?
@douglaspendergraft1055
@douglaspendergraft1055 Год назад
Isn't it both? Initial repentance is coming to the realization that a persons actions, words and/or thoughts are sinful. Now that the individual realizes they have sinned, what are they going to do with that "pile of dirt" in their lives? They could 1) Hide it 2) Ignore it 3) Place that pile at the feet of Jesus Christ and tell Him, "I can't clean this mess up. I'm giving it to you because I'm trusting in You alone to take it away." Furthermore, "I'm trusting You so much, that I'm not going to put my hands back on that pile of dirt again, even if I think you are not cleaning it up correctly or according to my timeframe." It's one thing to present our sin before Christ and entirely another to come into agreement with trusting Him on how He wants to deal with cleaning up/removing "known" and "unknown" sin in our lives. Even when we come initially come to Christ and He cleans us, the process is far from complete. The next step is to receive the baptism/infilling of the Holy Ghost. This literally changes ones perspective of sin. I have experienced this first hand. The day before being baptized in the Spirit, heavy consumption of alcohol seemed to be no big deal, even after initially confessing the things I perceived as sin to God and getting water-baptized. My mind was telling me that partying weekend after weekend was still going to be ok. However, 3 days after getting water-baptized, I received the infilling of the Holy Spirit at a church service. That experience change me, but I didn't immediately realize the gravity of this change. I drove home after service and went to bed, thinking that this encounter with the Spirit of God in that church service would just wear off. Woke up the the very next morning and walked into the kitchen where all of the alcohol was stored under the sink. The offensiveness and filth of the presence of that alcohol hit me like a brick wall. It had to be removed immediately. There wasn't going to be any debating. It was coming out of the house, one way or the other. The alcohol was not offensive at all the day before (pre-Holy Spirit baptism), but the day after (post Holy Spirit baptism), it was completely repulsive. I threw it all away and never had another drop. That has been almost 20 years ago. Only the Spirit of God could have given the necessary POWER to overcome and resist that alcohol. The Spirit of God revealed the damage that it was doing to my marriage, not to mention, health. He caused me to see from His perspective. This incident marked the beginning of relationship and further surrender to Him and His will. But it didn't stop there. The Holy Spirit started pointing out things around my house that had to be removed. Halloween items, a lot of computer games I used to play (Warcraft, StarCraft, etc.) where satanic symbols were displayed during game play. A DVD of the movie "Avatar" was also highlighted for removal. Although I thought the sci-fi in that movie was really good, God had an issue with the spiritual concepts that were presented. The characters in that movie were worshipping a tree as their source of life, instead of God. There were many other objects in my house that had to go. They were eventually pointed out and removed. It was not easy. It has been a process. The deeper we go with God, the more imperfection He reveals in our lives. He is going to keep working on us until our last breath. Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: One one hand, there are initial sins that we are willing to give up (repent of). On the other, their are sins that God has to convince us to let go of. These are released (repented of) by trusting and building relationship with Him.

One can choose to refuse to confess their sin to God. They have free will. But this is not a good strategy in the long term. God will require each of us to give an account at some point. Romans 14:12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. Several scriptures instruct us that we should confess our sin to God. 1 John 1:9 KJV If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Psalm 32:5 Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord.” And you forgave the guilt of my sin. Proverbs 28:13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy. Matthew 12:36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. We can confess them now or confess them later. 1 Timothy 5:24 King James Version Some men's sins are open beforehand, going before to judgment; and some men they follow after. We are not confessing to God in order to notify Him that we've done something wrong. He already knows every sin we are going to commit in our lives before we are even born. We are simply acknowledging our sin to Him in order to: 1) Be cleansed of all unrighteousness 2) Be forgiven of the guilt of that sin 3) Receive His mercy God wants relationship, but He wants it on His terms. Confessing of sin to God and allowing him to deal with it is an act of surrender on our part. Our confession and renouncing of sin also breaks contracts/agreements with the kingdom of darkness. It closes doors and diminishes influence that satan and his minions have over our lives. As a result, our quality of life is improved. 2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.@@Landis_Grant
