I was in a state of dying, my mother (who is not just my mom but as an adult, we’re best friends) I could hear how sad she sounded but it was like a stranger you look at in pity but no real sense of pain and hurt you feel for a loved one) I was just completely comfortable. I felt just perfect. No pain, no worries and then BOOM, my heart started beating and I HURT!! Then I was a little sad that I had been revived, it’s ok though…… I definitely have no fear of death. I absolutely know where I’m going and I totally understand now that no family member is looking down to check on me, they are HAPPY and already with our true family, I’ll just stick around, Thanking my Lord and Savior for everything He allows us to do. Then I’ll get to go to my family too! Happy Resurrection Day 🙏🏻♥️

Heaven is described in the bible. No need for anyone's false description of heaven.

Also, the fact that the few precedents we have in scripture, in both the old and the new testament, give examples of people going directly to heaven, such as Enoch, Elijah, Paul, and John, also refute the idea of purgatory. In none of these examples did they have to purge their sins before being able to be “clean“ enough to advance to heaven. Every one of them went directly into the presence of God. And we don’t have a single example of a spiritual intermediary realm in scripture that the person has to stop at first, to purge their sins, because Hebrews 1:3 states that Jesus purified, or purged in the Latin, our sins on the cross. That’s what makes us clean. And that’s what made Enoch, Elijah, Paul, and John clean. Even before the cross, like Abraham, Enoch and Elijah were credited righteousness.

How about the people who came out of the grave after the resurrection? That must have been quite the talk of the town!

I was dying in back of ambulance ,not from drugs ... and i stopped breathing then i felt his hand on my chest heard words yo i are ok and life came back and sicknesses was gone ambulance guys were no where near me at all thats what brouhaha me to christ and im so thankful i did not see any heaven i was blind and dead cause i didn't believe now i read and listen. John Burke wrote a couple of books about NDEs. Very interesting and yes Lazarus had an NDE! There have been 1000s of validated experiences but also 1000s of frauds. It’s not integral to Christianity by any means but it’s an interesting topic. If you’re basing your beliefs on this you got trouble. However, answering a non-believer’s questions about them should be important to all of us.

I have found that arguing with someone who claims to have had a "experience" is futile. If the experience cannot be verified by Scripture, I set it aside and my response is a simple, "Okay . . . and . . ." I can't prove they didn't, and they can't prove they did. It's futile.

John 3:13 no man hath ascended except the one who descended. In the parable of the rich man and Lazerus , Abraham says that even if someone comes back from the dead they will not believe. That the Law and the prophets are sufficient

God is Love and any experience that you have from a tragedy and the result is peace and love that is God. Besides, the majority of real true life after death experiences is a will to know the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, usually for the first time in their life. Its a mystery to unbelievers.

NT scholar Gary Habermas is working on this very topic.

They have found that when someone experience some level of brain death, brain itself was designed (by God) to create images and experiences to maintain brain activity. That would be the explanation on what people experience during a near death episode. There’s not such a thing of being dead and come back to life. If you die, you die. If it seems you die and come back, That’s because you didn’t die at all.

Great discussion. One thing I struggle with and maybe the answer is simple: OT saints being in the presence of the Lord without the full propitiation of sin, I.E. Christ had not yet paid the penalty for sinful man. One thought is that all OT saints / believers were held in Abraham's bosom util the cross. This idea works but maybe not with all saints. Enoch and Elijah were both "raptured' - (caught-up) and were immediately in the presence of the lord, or were they possibly waiting in sheol? . Is it possible that somehow the OT saints were covered by (from a human perspective) the yet future work of Christ? To a certain degree, we know that the OT saints were aware of Jesus sacrifice before it happened: John 8:56 “Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.”... I just do not see that God the Father would be able to have direct contact with sinful man prior to the work of Christ on the cross.

I read an excerpt from the book where the kid said that he saw his dead grandfather and his "Big Banana nose"so we are to believe his grandfather was in paradise as an old man ? The kid was obviously coached by his parents for a payday ! "BE NOT DECEIVED GOD IS NOT MOCKED !

So not true!!!! There are atheists who have come to know the Lord Jesus because of a near death experience. Have you been to heaven? Do you speak for the Sovereign Lord? In my heart and soul, I believe the Lord Jesus will do what it takes to save his children!!!!

I’ve watched many many NDE’s and I believe that many of them actually have experienced and seen what they say they saw. Example, this video called “ I’ve seen Jesus” car crash kills man, but son goes to Heaven, Returns, and shares. Short video.

The first part was on point, but I think the exegesis on the Intermediate State was mistaken.

One thing I have noticed is that Jesus is usually just a normal "person" and that they are reminded what a good person they are.

The biggest red flag to me is the utter lack of reverence for God. They talk about Jesus and interacting with Him like He's their best mate. But we can see from the OT that people are overcome and terrified by the sheer glory of God. In our spiritual form perhaps that won't be the case, but to act without reverence and awe upon meeting Jesus and seeing the glory of God strikes me as unbiblical.

9:05. “Some people take speculation too far.” Ironically John, this is how I feel about people who, like yourself, ASSUME that Paul was necessarily referring toto HIMSELF who went to Heaven, when what he literally said was “I know a guy” COULD he have been referring to himself? Sure, but based on the text, WE DON’T KNOW. (sorry for all the caps lol)

Bill with respect, I agree with you on NDEs but I watch this channel to hear your unique perspective, not to listen to John MacArthur (who I respect). I'd prefer to hear you discussing an issue than just playing a MacArthur video with commentary. Once in a while is fine but this is the second one in the last month or so. It might be the second in a row. I want to hear your opinions and ideas, not just your recycling someone else's. Not trying to be harsh, trying to provide constructive feedback.

I have an extremely high view of Scripture, but the Regulative Principle is a construct of man, not God. Humility leaves some room for mystery.

Luke chapter 16 verse's 19-31 swing's both ways and is pretty clear on the issue... don't you think? Maybe try reading it from the King James version just to get a meatier bite of it there might be words used that can help you understand it deeper. if the rich man was told they have Moses and the prophets and if someone were to come from the dead they wouldn't believe and if you notice that's a true statement because Jesus came back, people seen him die and the tomb was found empty and you fast forward to today, how many are not believing in someone who came back from the dead or the people who personally walked with and witnessed with their own eyes water turned to wine, blind people legitimately blind can't see squat have their sight restored as if it had never happened before, seen leprous people shuck away the leprosy and be instantly healed immediately after an interaction with Jesus, seen Jesus tell a man who hasn't walked in ages to get up take up your mat and he did! ...too go on to not believe! so what makes any of these people with these stories more saved or more special than others to have that done to them so they can come back and testify that heaven or hell is real?... when JESUS DID ALREADY THROUGH IS WALK HERE ON EARTH!!...do you see the problem with saying I've been to heaven or hell and I get to tell you that experience and attest that heaven or hell is real? It's side stepping Jesus and the apostles in my opinion! Read your Bible folks because the famine of the end times will NOT be for bread or water it will be for HEARING GODS WORD!

I love John MacArthur but I think his particular view on this one topic is uninformed and outdated. That clip is at least 20 years old. Since then there have been huge christian studies on Near Death experiences. 1 in 10 people have had an NDE's in the world (My own grandmother had one and went to Hell. She told me about it, and I got my pastor in who led her to the Lord.) My husband did a short bible study and produced a few examples (one example) Steven's death in Acts who recounted his near death experience just before he died. Modern Nde's have produced so much evidence of people experiencing the same thing, the scientific world are now looking at the amount of evidence being enough to declare it as fact. Christians can no longer dismiss it like MacArthur did and we need to address what is going in here. John Burke, a Christian pastor and author of Imagine Heaven, has interviewed now thousands of NDEs, and it seems Jesus is beginning to reveal Heaven and none of it contradicts the bible. It's super exciting. Through this research, I am so excited about Heaven now, like never before. Paul said it wasn't helpful to elaborate on because people weren't coming back from the dead like they are now to prove it.

Jonah seems to have died and was brought back to life. Ch 2:6. However, it's not the normative but a shadow of Christ. Experiences can deceive . Happy Easter !

Personally I don't believe them. No one gets to visit Heaven or hell and leave . I believe that demons can place ideas in people's minds.

No one can enter or see heaven in their corruptible, decaying earthly body or sinful, unredeemed spirit and live physically. Moses had a small glimpse of God's afterglow on Mt Sinai and looked 100 years older afterwards.

Pastor John you haven’t even heard the story and youre already calling a little four-year-old boy a liar. Why are you so quick to judge others without hearing all the facts? I suppose you can’t stand it that all these other people have been taken to heaven, and got to see Jesus before they actually died, but you are still here. That’s just pride, ignorance, or jealousy, or maybe all three.

"John MacArthur: The Truth About Death and Near Death Experiences (NDEs)". Who the giddy aunt cares. No one needs to even have the conversation as to whether or not they are authentic. There is no qualifying instruction to receive anything for one who has had a NDEs, so it would be an exercise in futility. It is really easy. The point of consideration is this, does what they teach or bring lead to sanctification in and the word and the Spirit. On this account, I have yet to witness a single soul (MacArthur himself also) sanctified in what you or MacArthur teach.

Don't listen to Calvinists like Macarthur... TULIP is another gospel.
