He’s essentially got a whole library of sounds loops and drum tracks to fuck with. And my lowly ditto looper is jealous. There’s so many times I’ve heard songs and gone, “that’s in the same key as ‘blank blank’.” In other words, “There are many songs where I, would like to mix the two, but I don’t know hoooow.”
C A G I TOTALLY AGREE! I think John's voice got better after his throat polyp and botox. Plus he is over all his 'ego addiction' (his words). He has matured and got his head on straight. He has always been awesome...but he is even better now. Great to see.
Just amazes me at how natural he makes playing music. He literally can just grab a guitar a Looper and probably a garbage can for drums and make a top 5 album. Easily one of the most talented guitar players on the planet .
C A G Not just Moving on, it’s the whole album. It’s groovy and bluesy and so minimalistic which makes it so tasteful. Ugh! He’ll outdo himself everytime
Moving on and getting over Are not the same, it seems to me 'Cause you've been gone, I'm growing older But I still can't seem to get you off my mind And I do believe I feel you all the time Moving on and getting over Are not the friends they used to be It's been so long since I got to hold you But I still can't seem to get you off my mind And I do believe I feel you all the time, all the time Tell me I can have the fact you've loved me to hold onto Tell me I can keep the door cracked open, to let light through For all my running, I can understand I'm one text away from being back again But I'm moving on and I'm getting over I'm-a getting over, I'm getting over I got to get over Moving on and getting over It's been so long; it just goes to show you That I still can't seem to get you off my mind And I sure would like to see you one more time It's taken me so long just to say "so long" Maybe it's all wrong, but I'm moving on I'm gonna get a new girl, it's something I can do, girl To try to get me through, girl 'Cause I'm moving on I'm moving on And I'm moving on I'm moving on And I'm moving on Consider me as good as gone 'Cause I'm moving on I'm moving on Moving on, baby Moving on Moving on Moving on, oh
People sleep on how powerful the mpc is... it's all up to how the users grove is. Jdilla made the sound we crave today. John mayer is slept on too when It comes to it apparently.
Wow. Never really liked the dude (just from stupid shit Ive heard), but never gave him a true listen. Just came from the video where he was joking about buying guitar effects pedals (seemingly from this same show), and found him really funny. It auto-played this next, and I was stunned. Really great shit! Love the looping (mess with semi-similar stuff & velocity-sensitive drum pads), but what I was even more impressed with was your guitar playing! (And unexpected, nice voice). Felt like I was listening to Jimi Hendrix or some shit, no joke! You *really* make me want to get my guitars back from my ex. Guitar was my origin. You were feelin' it there. There is no better feeling than being "plugged in" and just vibin' with the flow of music. Music is such a beautiful thing.
Vibro Steve He remixed the studio version of Moving on and Getting over with a nice beat and combined that with his live playing to add another layer of complexity. He's experimenting.
Genius. The feel he has is incredible. But although the PRS strat sounds great, it looks fugly. Shame he parted ways with Fender. I would have loved a new Fender JM strat.
@@colaboytje I bought the Jimmy Page custom tele dragon edition for the 25k and it's amazing but I have a custom strat with the Clapton mid boost that I think sounds better . It actually sounds very close to Mayer's edition.
Headbands are a fun addition to any woman’s outfit. Once the decision was finally made to transition, Mayer was overwhelmed with the support from his immediate family.
@DuckTalesWooHoo1987 John is quite influenced by J.J Cale (who's music is awesome btw), and it looks like he's going for his look. Just Google J.J Cale and you'll see him with a headband and glasses. Plus the fact that J.J Cale was one of the first to use drum machines in blues/rock/country recordings, pretty cool what John's going for
