@@JohnMayerGear You may of settled the worlds longest debate that you don’t need 3k custom shop guitars or a 3k amp to sound this good…. just the right set up and some bloody good finger work! Thanks for sharing 👍🏻
@@dan82dare in all fairness the top row of pedals alone is like $1,500. I would venture to say with cables, power, and the 5 lower pedals you’re getting closer to 3,000. Add in the guitar and amp he’s running that into and you’re gonna spend 3,000 at least.
@@jeremystone2658 I love mine becuse of the sound and the sustain it gives me .Mine cost $465.00 new and I got it from Cool Guitars. I would just listen to every video you can find on RU-vid and look up user reviews on them like I did. Then make your mind. I know I won't be selling mine. I've owned and sold the King Of Tone, The Gladio, the KTR, and more overdrive pedals than I can count and this one and 2 mini TUMNUS (1 for boost) is all I need. The ones I have seen on REVERB have been higher than $530.00. Its alot for an overdrive pedal when you compare it to something like the multi effects Headrush MX-5 ($399.00) ( which I almost bought instead) but to me it is and was worth it. but that is me and were all different players. I do feel that for some reason you didn't like it you could get your money back out of it. If you decide to get it let me know what you think after you play with it a while. JIm
@@koolkat808hawaii Thank you for such a detailed answer! I was actually looking to buy a Klon KTR, King Tone Duellist, or Vemurah Jan Ray (all different but at the same time very capable of that sweet overdrive sound). But then I accidentally came across this beauty...and now I'm hooked. And yes, I was planning on getting something for an extra boost (JHS Bonsai or maybe a mini Keeley Katana if Bonsai is overkill). I have a feeling that Nordvang will pretty much take care of most if not all the tones of above mentioned pedals. What do you think?
I found one in Europe, and it's €470 plus €30 for delivery. So the total is about $565 😅 Please tell me...is it a worthy buy? ...I know the answer, but I need a push lol
@@jeremystone2658 Luckily I do music full time and the Gravity is a pedal I always always bring to gigs, but again, there's nothing I could say that could speak more of it than the sounds!
Schweeet bro. I've a Flint at the end of my chain (into a Divided by 13 JRT9/15 for that 6V6 fire) Your TRJM preamp sounds awesome! Have you played it through an amp? Thanks for this upload!
Woaaah, I love those amps! Divided by 13 are killer! I've played the TRJM through amps effects loops, it's the best way to use it, bypassing the amp's preamp, sounds fantastic, it's like having a whole different channel
Great tone! Did you stacked The TRJM and the SSS to get this tone? Also, can you tell us what guitar cab are you using? Is it an impulse response or a real guitar cab? Thanks a lot!
Hi, first of all, very nice demo! Got a couple questions. Do you have the stereo out from Flint into both preamps? How do you then connect to the interface? What poweramp and cab do you use from positive grid? Thanks
Hi! Yes each output from the Flint goes into a different preamp and I record each output from the preamps into different channels. I started using the 67 Dumble preset from Positive Grid but tweaked each one according to the song I expected from the preamps
Awesome sounds man! I have an amateur question I’m hoping someone can help me with. So from the Flint you connect the two preamps via the flints stereo outs: what do you then connect into the audio interface and from what?
nice video! the signal goes to the preaamans direct to the interface? why did you went with the preamps pedal ( asks a man who never had a preaamo pedal)
Wait are both preamps on at the same time all the time? Could you make a video with only the TRJM? Also, I have a Fender Tone Master Super Reverb. Would that amp be a good fit for the Peace Hill TRJM? Or would the fact that it's digital and lacks an effects loop (apparently they recommend running the TRJM in the effects loop of an amp) make it a bad option for the TRJM?
I'll do specific videos for each preamp. As you mentioned, I highly recommend running these preamps into power amps, or the effects loop return of an amp (which is the power amp input)
Hello, thank you for the beautiful video! Can you explain how you used the Peace Hill SSS and TRJM tube preamps? I don't understand why you used both at the same time, I got the impression that they do the same thing. If they both do the same thing why both at the same time? Can you explain me? Thank you very much.
Hi, each one is a different type of preamp, with unique tonal characteristics. Each sounds fantastic on its own, but when they're paired together in parallel, they sound even better
Would u say the gravity can accomplish the WTLI lead tone, or could only a blues breaker do that? I’m really after that tone, particularly belief intro/mid solo (without micro synth) slow dancing and gravity outro solos.
I do think you can nail the feel of those overdrives. Saying it's 100% wouldn't be accurate cause he was running 3 100w super expensive boutique amps, but as for the sound you need from the drive pedals, it's totally there. There's nothing I could say that will speak more about the pedal than the actual tones you hear on this video. I hope that helps
Incredible tone, super impressive taste and handicraft on your part dialing in these sounds individually. Seriously considering one of these preamps. Curious if you have any experience playing them through headphones (with a cab simulator like a Palme PDI).
Thanks! I haven't tried them myself with a cab sim, but given that the main tone is achieved in the preamp section, pairing a Peace Hill with a good cab simulator should work great.
If you want "Instant" John Mayer tone, the TRJM really captures that. The SSS is a bit more "overall" sounding, also more versatile due to the extra controls. I guess it really depends on the need and the goal
@@apeeg86 yes! It's way more touch-responsive and can be driven into that "clean drive" SRV did. Both preamp are quite different one from another. TRJM being more "Instant JM" and the SSS more into the "SRV" vibes
@@JohnMayerGear that sounds ideal! I'll be running into the FX return of my Victory V40 Deluxe (40 watt 6L6). Do you run yours in amp FX returns or do you go direct?
@@JohnMayerGear if i already have the katana clean boots , Can you suggeste me between New Nordvang triple gain or Nordvang gravity which one is the best one ? And which one worth for money to buy
@@phongkai2843 I own both and both are fantastic pedals, depends on the space on your pedalboard, how many drives you need, and your budget, but both are the best overdrive pedals I've tried
Stay away from artificial sounds. polished and computer like.Sound is dead and tone is alive. You Know the digital sound. What is more successful is A compression pedel Wampler, with your Katina, but the mini boost is better. Why ! Because the big Katina when it's clean is just making your orginal tone louder.Than of course you have the knob, but that is not that great of a sound ( the dirt sounds of the Katina ( a steel string is what you want pedel..The mini Boost has a melodic warm chimney tone on clean ware it pushes the tubes to the break up point if you turn the knob up. Im telling you I had both the Keeleys.Even the people who make it are saying the mini has a better sound.Tone is melodic.Harmonic.Remember u know what I'm talking about.Im a engineer.Sound is dead and Tone is ALIVE.You got it though. Also stay away from Tube screamer etc.The JHs.Sounds way better.Or the tube dreamer hand made in Greece..Anyway it's your deal,I'm just trying to be honest.
What you’re trying to say, is ‘Dude plays great and has amazing tones’! Period, end of story. This shit works and no other pedal is going to have a noticeable, better quality. I’ve been a dedicated tone hound for 25 years and played pro for 18 years for a living. This sounds phenomenal. Just being honest 😉 Take care🫡🤝
