I enjoyed watching section 3 of the JMW. Thanks for sharing some of the history of the area - very interesting.

Another good section although i agree its hard on the old feet as most of the upcoming sections. Lots of shared cyclepaths which certainly slow u down on a busy day with having to stop and stand aside. Enjoyed hearing more about the history and look forward to watching your upcoming vlogs as u hit the canals and roman history.

Kirkintilloch is a bit of a non-descript place nowadays, sadly. There's very little of its industrial past left, just the odd hints and the place has quite an amazing history, producing one of the most iconic items of the UK! I must admit I'm not looking forward to all the pavement pounding. I felt this one for a few days afterwards!

Enjoyed this and learning of the history along the way. Are you using a guidebook for this trail? If so, which one please.

I've not been using a guidebook for this, unfortunately. I really should get one. It seems that the rucksack readers guide might be the only one available with a quick search. I was brought up in Kirkintilloch so it's my "home patch" so to speak. The Lion Foundry is now a Sainsbury's. Such is progress I suppose.

Good on you big lad. Thats some going on the flat. My shins are sore just thinking about walking that railway path. Chattering away to the camera must help pass the journey.

Not so much my shins that hurt. It's everything else that does! Took about three days for the worst of it to subside. Really enjoyed this section apart from the tarmac, though the last stages of the railway path are a bit of a trudge. Been pleasantly surprised by the trail so far!

@@blackcathiking7831 Getting out there and doing the things that we want to do are what it's all about. The sore legs are soon forgotten but you will never forget that day and your soup and toastie!

To be fair, the soup and toastie were really good!
