TY for posting this one up!! Means alot to me ...[My 16 yr old son gets to see his mum prancing about in a film clip when she was younger!] lol Cant believe we did this 33 years ago! I was just a baby! Great working with JPY & the crew on this clip. Was the good work of Jame Bogle director :D Good aussie clip! :) Great song!
Bakki Boo awesome!! That must be so surreal watching this fantastic, poignant and rather haunting song and seeing yourself in it. You lucky lady!! Great stuff xx
Heard it on the radio the other day. Great track begging for a re-release. Ahead of its time. Great work to all involved in it's production. Proud of this little Aussie gem
Wow that would of been awesome to in a video clip like this. This was one of my favorite songs back in 83 when I was only 12/13 years old. I really love the instrumental. The didgeridoo is awesome. I love this video clip showing the Australian out back, the animals and the aboriginal people. Has a real Australian feel to this clip. Way before it’s time. Still looks fresh today standing up against clips quite well I feel. I wish more Australian artists would use the out back into there clips. I’m sure the country western stuff do.
Brilliant song ( Soldier of fortune !) from the master John Paul Young !). Great voice awesome music and lyrics and the Australian outback and aboriginal dancers !( Great work JPY & Band are also awesome !)
Thanks for posting . This song was lost to history for some time as it wasn’t on his classic hits album , as already mentioned . I was given the single years ago but no record player for years . It has a great positive energy & vibe to me , love it .
Quite a good track from John brilliant I don't know that it got much air play I bought the 12 inch possibly underated for him shows how talented he is not that his other songs don't
Familiar country, along the rabbit proof fence, I've been fortunate enough to travelled in this country, east of Payne's find,, towards sandstone town,,in my teens,,
Im hoping people here might help me. I remember when i was a kid, back in the mid 80's, I had this single of John Paul Young, after i watched him performed in a small restaurant in Perth, it has THIS song, and another. I cannot remember the name of the song, but its slow, and it has chopper noises in the beginning. I think its about Vietnam.. not sure.. Can someone help me what that song is? I like to look it up and listen to it again, for i liked that song also.
Finally getting around to hearing this version. I am a huge fan of Marc Jordan. Who wrote this song and included his version on his 1987 album Talking Through Pictures.
