0:28 Really does remind me of "Scottie doesn't know", I think it's at least a step or two down though and the melody is slightly different, but similar enough for more than one person to pick up on it and come here to leave a comment 😆
John and Mike didn't even join up in person to lay tracks. John had all tracks pre-recorded then sent them to mike to lay drums to them. John P. is playing bass too on many of these songs.
Willace Wallace Wrong pup. Watch the Petrucci interview with Ola. The tracks were done but Mike stayed at Johns house for a week and did the drum tracks in his studio.
@@Killerklownsfromouterspace I did see the Ola bit. My point was that the tracks were laid down and that's that. No rearranging and recording tracks together. According to the interview, John said "here are the tracks they're not moving"
@Sebastian You need to chill. The one riff in this song is clearly inspired by pop punk. No one is insulting John Petrucci or taking away from the complexities of his music by acknowledging that.
I find it funny that almost nobody recognizes this song from the G3 Tour 8 years ago, back then it was called Cloud Ten, been waiting for this to officially come out for so long, glad it's finally here!
Once a friend asked me what makes me happy? I said good music! Then I got an incomprehensible questioning look! I think only people who make or have made music understand that! Just sit there, close your eyes, and enjoy, not everyone can! This song put a smile on my face and had this tingling sensation several times that ran down my neck! Petrucci and Portnoy are simply the best musicians! Absolute perfection!
The more he gets older the more he amazes me with unlimited thinking and emotion that he riffs John u r really true Guitar 🎸 god god bless u always n thanks for the amazing track my ear drums are dancing nowwww.......
Way better that the live version 'Cloud Ten'... rhythm guitars, MP's energetic drumming and that change in the last chorus just makes this song explode!
Petrucci the best already did everything! at the exact moment now he knows about the marketing business and how to keep people attentive to all the fans of portnoy
When I heard this song for the first time, at the G3 concert with Petrucci and Satriani, it was such an awesome experience for me. This is a real happy song!!! 😊👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌
The beginning sounds a bit like *Blink 182 - M+M's* and then transitioned into *Sum 41 - Still Waiting* kinda vibe. Such a _90's Punk Rock_ vibe. Thanks John for bringing back the memories!
Man, at first I was disappointed when I saw the published playlist not containing Cloud Ten, but then... THIS HAPPENED!! It was a huge surprise to me to see that he actually included it in the album man. This album is absolutely fantastic, I love every single aspect of it. Thank you John, you made everyone's day and brought a huge amount of happiness to all of your fans!! Peace and God bless you so much!!!
Fill in your memories, shout out you sadness, enjoy the Happy Song, Just ride along it will take you somewhere you belong... "Terminal Velocity" is Great.
@@oceanmachine1906 Hahaha! Tim Smith despised this terminology, he prefered something like "pop" or "psychedelic" in order to describe his lovely music... A very special man
I hope John Petrucci join Kiko Loureiro for a G2 and both play all the respective songs from Terminal Velocity and Open Source, two of the best solo album from decade
