@Wan Cia he was wonderful. In his early, early years he cursed now and again in his Spiel. I think someone close to him must have said to him, try your skit without cursing. He did, and he was way better off in my view. A guy like George Carlin or Richard Pryor they cursed, but it suited them. It was a part of them. Didn't bother me at all. Guys as John, Red Skelton, Jackie Gleason, Chris Farley, it did not fit their style. Man, this guy was great. He is dearly missed.
By now I think the ones who swear are disgusting. They are a total turn off. Only people with low conscience can laugh at garbage like that. John was a class act.
@@drifterman319 I get what you're saying, but I kinda think that looking down on people with 'low conscience', like that, is a sign of low conscience. Personally, I prefer comedy that's funny, and I don't care whether they swear or not. It doesn't affect me.
Clean he was. I don't mind shock vulgar humor if done with wit but sometimes it's cool to not hear the F or MF word every 2 seconds - especially if you can be truly funny like John here.
It's 10th May 2024, only stumbled on to John and his work at the beginning of the year. This 71 yo now has to listen/watch at least one oh the episodes that YT has of him. The man was a ccomedic genius, rest easy.Big Boy 😂😢
Over the years his act got sharper and sharper. And it grew, he did more than the buffets, although it was a fan favorite. Damn John, we miss ya buddy!
I have been watching his videos on and off for 2 weeks now and finding this one I find out he passed away....I want to swear..this really hurts..hes a good guy
Saw him at Just For Laughs, back in the day; "You can eat all the salad you want. Salad? Salad isn't a food, it's nothing. You buy a steak and they give you a salad for free. Salad is a promissory note, that food is coming..." Classic. RIP
I don't know how he could do an entire act based on food or his weight and it remain hysterical throughout, but he did it. I'll never get tired of listening to his jokes and routine. So sad he passed away but he's probably up in heaven making everyone laugh for all eternity.
He was my favorite comedian. First found out about him in 2002 and was immediately in love. Even saw him live when he was in hairspray. He was truly like extended family and when he passed, it hurt. Almost Robin Williams levels of hurt.
So glad I was able to see him in Phoenix before he died. RIP big man, you are missed. One of the best and very underated comedians, nothing like the hacks who get a night time talk show.
I got to see him in the early 90s at Nova Southeastern University in Davie, FL with my brother & his wife while he pursued his Masters degree there. Before then, I had listened to just a bit of his material as I began attending shows at comedy clubs. From that day on, John's comical demeanor stuck with me and now I can't get enough of him on Pandora & RU-vid. RIP
"I lost a jockey that won the Kentucky Derby!" What a man! His salad comments alone...."Salad is not food, salad is what food eats!"....will stay with me for the rest of my life! Loved John, and always will.
John Pinett was one of funniest comics alive , it's sucks that he's dead , 😔wish he was alive and making more of his DVD's and More stand up,😂. RIP Jhon.
Jon died in 2014 of natural causes, as Pinette suffered a pulmonary embolism and as we all suspect, Chinese buffets. He was 50. What causes pulmonary embolism? It’s when one or more arteries in the lungs become blocked by a blood clot. Most times, a pulmonary embolism is caused by blood clots that travel from the legs, or rarely, other parts of the body (deep vein thrombosis or DVT). Occurs when flying sometimes. He had a beautiful singing voice and had rhythmic dancing feet.
Just genuinely funny, no politics, not even a curse word. Just an acrobatic command over the English language, not to mention perfect delivery with every line
Saw him 4 times starting in 2008 and was able to get a pic with him at all shows. A gracious and truly funny guy. But every time we saw him, he had gotten bigger. Gone to soon....
I saw John at a comedy club in Santa Monica. Normally Jay Leno would have been headlining, but he was at the Oscars. John's act injured me by my laughing. The funniest comic I have ever seen. So missed.
I agree with the OP, he is entertaining Jesus these days. Too bad you are so narrow minded, like so many folks. Expand your horizons, maybe one day you will comprehend what Jesus is and did for me and you. Until then just keep belittling that which you on purpose, I will assume, know NOTHING about.
Just discovered him on RU-vid this morning!! Only those who suffer this world from birth - I have..my mom told me I always had a far away look in my eyes..and, I have infant memories, plenty of 'super natural' experiences esp. when crying out with my whole mind heart soul in urgent need (!!!!) ..plus, a visit from Heaven, itself..one dark dark night..realizing my (mafia-driven) situation...so, my perspective is that this man IS in Heaven..or, resting in peace..whuEVAHHH people!! Love ~ Truth ~ Prayers
LOVE John !! ....what his " shtick " was, being a BIG BOY and made him have a great 15 years or so and then dies at 50, Ralphie May too ( just 45) & so many other entertainer's in my lifetime ( I am 56 in May)..* ....very sad, thanks that we have RU-vid to keep the laughs alive !
You gotta love a big jolly fat guy who wears it well. Some people are gross being fat and are better off exercising and eating right. But guys like him you can tell god made him perfectly that way and when he smiles its contagious.
This made me smile, and yet broke my heart at the same time, because it was pretty much his dieting that killed him. About 15 years ago, he did a bit where he went to the doctor who told him all of his tests were fine, and the doctor joked, "This can't be right, surely!" But John *WAS* so beautiful just the way he was, and now the world is even that more grey for his absence. #Heavensgotallyoucaneat
I had the blessing of meeting him after a show in Vancouver BC. He was the nicest, sweetest man ever. I would have married him on the spot I had such a crush on him ::blush::
Actually he did use the word, "shit" in a bit & also, "bitch," but he didn't depend on 'curse' words for laughs/used them non-gratuitously/to punctuate & fill out the image of the tale he was telling. I don't mind if comedians prefer to use 'colorful' (as my grandmo would say) language, but for me I've noticed, it does often feel like a smoother ride when it is absent.
@@bamadeadhead Yea, she didn't know how to respond either because she had a façade to maintain. Sadly, a genuine & funny human being passed away far too young while a convicted corporate shill has cashed in her time in the clink for industry cred.
