I’ve been sober since Christmas Day, last year (2023). The goal is to make it to a whole year. As of now, I don’t miss it and I’ve observed the effects it used to have. I’m a better person and MORE CONFIDENT in the things I do.
I've been listening to these guys for years. Elis and Dave are great friends and John is wrapped in the warmth of love. When ever John goes into "dark" mode, E and D hold his hands like toddlers at playgroup. Male friendships ❤
Whether you drink every day or only at the weekend - one thing people like us that have some sort of alcohol dependency or addiction have in common is that we build our lives around it - as opposed to people who can have a few and get on with their lives - we are always thinking about the next drink - if just a weekend drinker - Monday - Thursday is all just building up to the weekend where you can have a drink. It means you lose 2/3 of your week because as far as you’re concerned it doesn’t help. I am so happy to be sober now.
The way John describes his mood is fantastic. Being in recovery too, it’s true you forget how bad it was. You don’t know John but being a member of the fellowship I am proud of you. I know how difficult it is”life” is and dealing with this. 🫶
