This is a study of Sargent's Ellen Terry as Lady Macbeth. I wanted to reevaluate my brush working method to free myself up and get out of my own usual method of working. So I figured what better work to study then a Sargent. This was a very enriching experience for me. I did catch myself from time to time getting into my habits of trying to fine tune certain areas. Then I reminded myself what I was doing this for. Looking forward to exploring more like this.
Oil on panel painting size: 10" X 8" a 2 day sitting, Painting time about 8 hours.
