John Starks is the man! I got his Knicks jersey in 1995 and I still have it! I love how even when they lied to him and told him the cameras were off, he still said nothing. He was a streaky player when he was “off” it was ugly but when he was “on” it was glorious! He was the heart of those Knicks.
I wasn't talking about one play. I so happened to follow the Bulls vs Knicks rivalry back then. All I meant that it wasn't easy for MJ. That's what giving somone a run for his money means. It means making it hard for someone.
In my opinion Stark's dunk is the all time greatest because it was such a surprise & came out of nowhere! I saw it on TV and cheered...I was a bulls fan too! ❤️ Stark's & East Coast bball back in the 90's.
Basketball reference has John starks listed at 6'3 so it makes perfect sense that he'd say he was 6'2. He really is 6'2 but they always list players slightly taller than they really are
Rapper Fat Joe already came on First Take or Undisputed and admitted it was Anthony Mason. Fat Joe thought it was already out. He didn’t purposely spill the beans, he thought people knew already. After the backlash, he apologized because he genuinely didn’t mean to offend anyone or reveal something people didn’t know.
Starks always played MJ tough and never backed down...I love that he got that painting,, it's tribute to his airness... dunkin on The GOAT is worthy of a painting for sure
@@FUJIWALOVER they constantly lie about players heights... some just a little, some a lot. Aka 2-3 inches. My son plays at a small college in Kentucky, and he's 6'3 but listed at 6'4... meanwhile they have players listed at 5'11, and I'm 6ft, and I'm 2-3 inches taller than them.
Saw this documentary on Netflix and it brought me here. Just to see how old this video is- being that it's my first time seeing this interview is crazy lol!
"I'm in that ass while they playin 'gainst the Utah Jazz, My 112 CD blast..." 112 CD release August 27, 1996. December 17th 1996 the Knicks beat the Jazz 99-94. I'm willing to bet it was Allan Houston.
***** "In 1996 after his rookie contract expired, Houston signed as a free agent with the New York Knicks, for whom he played for the next nine seasons." - Google
As A Bulls fan I honestly can say Starks had me stressed after that first game of the 92 playoff Knicks game which after so many years he was A big problem for the Bulls. Great player especially when he got off.
@@diohpeah371 Man I was working at T.S.U walked out, quit my job the morning of the second game cause like the rise of the new Knickerbockers Starks had me more shook and worried more than all of them!I just hope MJ show that man the upmost respect over all of them cause Starks was truly A beast when he was focused.
I still have his jersey and shorts till this day obviously one of my fav players i was a BIG new York knick fan back then, even tho im from Mississippi don't judge me LOL
Kevin love exposed the inch game a few years ago, he's listed at 6'10 but Is only 6'8 so if Charles was already undersized I wonder how tall he actually is🤔🧐
One of my favorites Knicks moments....even.doug it wasn't a face dunk over Jordan but the fact that he jumped and tried to block him it was enough for the fans and a 6'2 Bulls enemy. Jordan killed NY most of the games and tension was super hi every time they played. That dunk wasn't about hitting you while dunking like the Pippen over Ewing......this was an underdog that wasn't supposed to do that and it went HUGE.!!!!
Well said. I had that poster in my room, but it was just a moment. Jordan was too much for Starks, but I loved that Starks gave it his all trying to defend Jordan.
bullshark bruh I’m one of the hugest mj fans.. bruh it don’t matter if he came over to help.. he came over to help and got swept up in the dunk..so if it was the other way around and Jordan dunked on Oakley and mason came to help.. you would have said that Jordan dunked on both of them.. it’s ok to say Jordan was human
John Starks was The New York Knicks guard , that if you were on The opposing team , that He had to face , You just loved to hate him , but You had to respect his efforts , because he would really bring it................
The only 6'5 on the roster was Hubbert Davis. But when listening to the song and biggie' explanation for when the guy arrived he was slightly intimidated. So my educated guess would be a guy who's caliber of interest to the same lady and the lady to have the same like would be Anthony Mason. A bit intimidating and probably gets with the same type of women.
6'2" and dunked on Jordan? I thought he was 6'5". Impressive, but to be fair to Jordan, it wasn't exactly on Jordan it was on like 3 Bulls but not directly on Jordan.
Show the dunks of starks shittin all on M.Jordan! We know Mike was all that. These dudes had much competition in em Stark's shittes on Mike ! End of story
