Quite a few PGs back then could've. Just wasn't how the game was played back then. PG was to facilitate and set up the offense and only score when need be
When jazz beat lakers the year before in playoffs semifinals in five games, shaq told kobe I guarantee we meet them in playoffs next year. Shaq was right. This time in conference finals. And jazz swept them in four games.
I think that sweep cost the Jazz the championship. They were playing so good, totally torched the Lakers then had to wait 11 days for the Bulls to get past Indiana. Lost their edge, and by the time they recovered it they trailed the Bulls... trailing MJ’s Bulls is not where you want to be.
@@idawizardthe jazz was so unlucky that in the next season, when MJ retired, they could and should have won it, but there was a lockout and the season was shortened, so they had to play a lot of games in a short period of time in the end of the season and it was really harmful for players with a certain age like Stockton, Malone and Hornacek, so they got to the Playoffs far away from 100%, they almost lost in the first round against the Kings and then lost to the Blazers! Had it been a normal season, I believe they would have won, but this time it was the opposite problem from the one you mentioned
Actually Malone's the plumber on the Jazz, the true handyman w/ the muscle & mustache, while Sally Fields is the cooking & cleaning one on the Jazz, as the true wholesome brunette.
