Talked to John about it and he laughed.. Said essentially that it meant nothing to them to be in the RRHOF. To him, they didn't need it for affirmation, recognition or legacy of the band. You know, I live in Cleveland area and we know It's a joke really. First, nominations are political, a small committee of 5,i believe, it's subjective, and many bands, like DD, who have been eligible for a long time, very worthy and influential, are overlooked. Like who wants Guns and Roses? What about the Go-Go's.. The first all female band who wrote and played their own instruments.. How long did it take for Rush to get inducted? I mean, c'mon, the induction ceremony isn't even at the rock hall. It's in NYC. No one wants to come. I've been to the RRHOF. If it weren't MLK day and admission wasn't free, who could afford it? It's essentially a museum of memorabilia, wardrobe, posters. The only cool thing I saw was one of John Lennon's pianos and you could see the cigarette burn marks where he would rest it as he composed. I know the person who has the petition going to get Duran Duran into the Rock Hall, and he has worked hard in drumming up support everywhere for this to happen. But tbh, it means nothing. The Rock Hall is just a hoax

@@drdebbie03 there are so many bands, solo artists and announcers going back go to the 50s and 60s that should have been inducted years ago. I'll take Duran Duran over Guns and Roses any day.

Actually... when touring for Pop Trash, Warren Cuccurullo had a crazy, roid-rage filled temper tantrum / fit and the band split up. They didn't play a gig again for a few years until the original line-up got back together. So there was about 2 years of inactivity. If only 1 person didn't join, yes even Andy, it would not have happened. When they did get back together, they couldn't decide would would tell Warren that he was out, so they simply didn't - bit of a dick move, but name a band who never pulled a dick move, so meh. Apparently all was forgiven and Nick and Warren even worked together on a project.

They have this section of the Rock Hall that pays special tribute to the purveyors of music videos. Based on that alone, it's criminal that Duran Duran isn't in there!

@@Bawbster1 I think you're wrong. Simon suffered a "block" to write. The band never stopped, they continued to perform and made 2 albums that do not qualify at all with Duran Duran. Hugs

@@BomCombateProducoes it happened in San Diego. Warren had a fit in the dressing room and no member of the band wanted to go in for about 2 hours while Warren wrecked a bunch of things... that was the last show that line-up played.

You are right, some of the sentences in their speech were quoted from John's book. I don't understand why these freaks are nitpicking about it. They're either insane or jealous of John.

I hated Duran when growing up, all the girls at school loved em, but like you, Ordinary world came out and well, it's now my go to track when I need a uplift, learnt to appreciate the band more, and will always be stuck in the 80s' with my favourite bands....
