JWP handled Ludwig with ease. Dropped him 3 times with punches, punished him with strong knees & kicks to the body & man handled him in the clinch. Beautiful block at 12:05. All round the much better fighter. Muay Thai FTW.
yea but nowdays he has dutch kickboxing instead of just karate mma so he has boxing and muay thai plus kyokushin karate mixed. parr has muay thai only so he wouldve lost to ludwigs boxing

Interesting fight, definitely not as one sided as it seemed. It almost looked like JWP just had a much better chin than Ludwig, and won because of that. Bang landed some great shots also, but had no answer for the clinch game.
rextetron JWP won because Muay Thai is superior to kickboxing when an extended clinch is allowed and because JWP hits very hard, nothing to do with his chin. He was taking most of Ludwig's shots on his gloves.
This guy...he at least could've done his homework, JWP may have been a newbie in K1 but boy did he have a lot of fighting experience. John Wayne Parr got the nickname in Thailand when he was fighting and training with the Thais in his youth
He acknowledged that JWP is a known name to people who follow Muay Thai, but the commentator was talking to an audience who presumably only watched K1 - JWP was new to them.
berzerk fury1 nah their the same size gloves . Just a different brand it looks more big but jist more padding in the fron part of the gloves . Each fighter has to be on a even playing field .one cant choose smaller or bigger gloves then what his opponent is wearing. they both gotta be the same size gloves .

The fact you say Duane was roasting (I'm not a chef concerned with how well a fighter can roast :P) JWP with his hands, yet dropped three times leaves two possibilities. JWP is either a better boxer, or a tougher fighter.

He seems to be very offense minded which unfortunately leaves him open to counters, he's great to watch though rarely in a bad fight and always brings it.
That fight was way closer than the announcer made it sound like but in Muay Thai Knockdowns score unlike MMA where they are nothing more than a significant strike. Great fight. JWP is incredible. Bang is incredible as well.
Charming or not Shiavello should ve done his homework its ridiculous he does live commentary and had no clue who Parr was, at that point Parr had fought a who's who in Muay Thai and kickboxing and Schiavello refers to the vet as the young guy from Australia and acting surprised he schooled Duane, who was a kid in fight years in comparison to Parr.
Besides the know down exchanges there really wasn’t any exchanges that Ludwig didn’t win, especially enough for the commentators to clearly decide a winner.
This is sort of trash... Ludwig was picking him apart for most of the fight, but Parr is a great kickboxer, for sure, and got the better of him and dropped him a few times in the wilder moments. Ludwig definitely gets the worse of the wild scramble/clinch game, but I can't help but think that the fact that he's very clearly outstriking Parr from the outside for most of the fight, effectively countering pretty much every noticeable tendency, shouldn't count for more.
