Big John Wayne had 7 children, and they all adored him, as we do, still! I met him at an event on the "Wild Goose" in about 1965 or 6, and was invited back for a trip. He was so humble and attentive. He was truly one of a kind and I'll never forget him! If just one-half of America was as good an American as he was, we would have a better Country. He truly loved this Country!

I absolutely loved John Wayne growing up and still do. I consider him the greatest American that ever lived, and would have beat anyone around me who said anything different. I could remember the day/time he died I was graduating from HS, and could never bring myself to watch "The Shootist" because I knew he died, i recently watched it and cried, feeling like I've lost him all over again, I hope his kids see the messages that know that their Father is just as much loved as he was while alive.

John Wayne is one true American. I never heard a interview by another actor say anything bad about John. They will say things like "I might disagree with his politics, but I loved working with him".

John Wayne loved his children, and provided for them well. According to his daughter Aissa, Pilar left his bed in 1968, and then moved out of the house in 1973. She left him when he needed her most. She married and divorced twice after that, making it 4 marriages she left. Pat Stacy was his love and loyally stayed with his through his illness until he passed.

jimidee33 I agree with you. Patrick was FABULOUS LOOKING!!!!! Evidently he had a "good head on his shoulders" and never thought he was "God's gift to women." And,he worked hard, as his older brother Michael did. Sorry, can't say the same about the "bad seed" Ethan.

Patrick is a better looking version of his pop and seems a decent guy. He does look good for his age. Damn 100 years old if he were alive. Wayne has been dead for some 32 years now. But all one has to do is go rent or purchase a video. He is still with us!

Actually that isn't all of john Wayne's family, my grandfather was 1st cousins to john Wayne. (Marion Morrison) as my grandfathers dad was a brother to john Wayne's dad Clyde Morrison. My grandfather looked a lot alike to john Wayne being a Morrison. This is true it's on our family tree. So john Wayne kids our my distant cousins.

What's surprising here, with his son Patrick Wayne being interviewed for John's 100th birthday celebration is that Patrick must therefore be 68 here since he's 32 year younger than his father. Good for him, looking relatively young. Perhaps JW had the genetics in him to live longer too if he hadn't inhaled all those cigs and radioactive dust.

It seems like to me that Pilar and Ethan ONLY care about the money!!!! Duke and Pilar were separated for six years before he died, and she wasn't allowed to visit him in the hospital when he was dying, at his request!!!! Only Michael and Pat Stacy had access to him when he was dying. Michael and Toni are dead. I don't know about Aissa and Melinda, but I'm SURE Patrick and Marisa LOVE their father!!!! God bless Duke!!!!

Pilar separated from John Wayne six years before he died. She didn't want to be a wife to him, all she wanted was his money and the "name" Mrs. John Wayne. After his death, she made a "career" out of being "John Wayne's wife!!!!!" Also, unlike Michael and Patrick Wayne, Pilar's son has made a career out of being John Wayne's son because he was a jerk and a failure at doing anything else!!!!! LONG LIVE DUKE!!!!!

@maganaonline BUSH is certainly a huge part of it.....he was from the right family but didn't do well in university and actually was into drugs and booze but got on the straight and narrow when his family found him an almost flawless mother figure to marry. you don't get much more respectable than a primary school teacher. he led the US into a war in iraq under false pretenses

When Ethan was in the movie "Chisum" playing Duke's kidnapped grandson, the other actors on the set noticed what a "brat" Ethan was, that he thought since he was Duke's son, he was "a privileged character!!!!!" The people on the set wanted to "put him over their knee and spank him" because he was SUCH a little shit!!!!! It sounds like now he is a "big shit!!!!"

There are always TWO SIDES to a situation, one of which, is always lesser known, and one side that is usually reported with less than truth! No one truly knows what happens (both sides) in a relationship, ("between the sheets," in other words.) No one is without some kind of blame. Never forget that! I think that off springs of film stars from the 1930's-1960's really have NO clue of their loved one's fame? If they did they would never part with treasured items. Yes times have changed and most have no interest in following in one's footsteps. Besides those "shoes" would be too LARGE to fill anyways. Many of the head honcho's who bore clout have died and the studio system has crumbled from it's glory years. Patrick was always the looker and the one with such promise. He has aged very well..
@kathys8271
@kathys8271 6 лет назад
Yes he has. Michael was too crude, too rough around the edges anyway! I really don't like to judge people, but why in the world did Pilar have plastic surgery? Her appearance was SO SO much better without it. Wrinkles do not matter when you have the looks but she has virtually erased her looks!! Pat Stacy? Please. She wasn't even the secretary that Mary St. John was. Mr. Wayne wouldn't have dreamed of marrying Pat Stacy...Pat Stacy was the one who dreamed it, it was never going to happen. My opinion is that is why she wrote her book: to "save face" (as if anyone cared). People had empathy for her, that was why they gave glowing statements when her book came out. That was ALL.
