The part when Johannes was on John's back was beautiful- they were literally on the other side of the world, walking, existing and facing a lot of similar life experiences

This dance was the best in the whole of Strictly history. I cry every time I watch it. My son has drawn strength from this dance partnership enough to tell me he is bi-sexual. I couldn't be anymore grateful to John and Johannes for that alone. Beautiful choreography and intense emotions. Thank you both. Xx

This dance had me and my girlfriend in tears for its sheer beauty and power. These two have been so brave in their dancing and empowered so many LGBTQ+ people to come out and be proud of their sexuality and I think they’re just phenomenal as both dancers and role models 🌈🌈🌈💕💕💕

I was sobbing, this was such a powerful piece of choreography, the contrast between the aggressive elements and the softer supportive ones, superb lifts, great grounding through the floor and the expression of emotion was there from start to finish.

I definately cried. This was beautiful and aa aomeone who studied Contemporary I would give them 11. Seriously the story telling in this and the way they worked together was perfect. This is one of the reasons i love contemporary because there are pretty much no rules. I cant say enough good things about this.

Am so glad the world got to see this, whether they get through to the final or not, stunning and so meaningful on many levels

Beautiful. My favourite part was the waking bit. It showed on the other side of the world in their hometowns their were so many other people in similar situations and they are never alone. Damn, the Couple's Choices this year. All the stories come to life. And this! This is so lovely! This was a lovely window into tue souls of the boys. They poured so much love, dedication and care into this. Made such an amazing, top quality dance! And that lift, near the end! Held for that long! Damn, John is so strong in everything, those muscles aren't just for show. John did amazing, but I'm so happy for one of my favourite male pros, Johannes. I feel like he is so free and unshackled. He is able to be his truest self and show all the emotions and everything dance so effectively. I wish they did this after the Jive, but, eh...

I had to put the tv on pause and get a glass of water to pull myself together after this. It’s so powerful but also understated. A statement dance doesn’t have to all the tricks and complicated steps, it can just tell beautifully a story without words.

Score: *9.5* This dance alone should get them in the final. The storytelling was so moving and inspiring as a member of the LGBT community. I felt that this was the dance that John was actually letting go of the chains of criticism that he feared while competing on the show. With that being said, I would have liked a bit more looseness to fully show the emotion but other than that I enjoyed the routine very much from beginning to end!!

I love the partnership in this routine; the trust and unspoken understanding that translates in both the dance itself and between both John and Johannes after the dance. There is a level of physical and emotional understanding between the two that transcends them both being gay; that shows that two men, regardless of sexuality, can connect on such a (platonically) intimate level of understanding and create something artistic and magical. You see in the dance the trust and synchronicity their minds and bodies have through the routine; you see it in how they speak to each other with their eyes and facial expressions immediately after the dance as they check on each other (Johannes nods at John, they tell each other through non-verbal language that they're okay) and then they hug and both thank each other). That's not forced, nor is is holding anything back because "we don't want to be too gay for the BBC"; It's just two male souls connected on an artistic and spiritual level, with an understanding most partnerships, marriage or otherwise, can only dream of. These two created magic when they danced together on their series, not just because they were the first male same-sex couple to do so, but because they understood each other on a partnership level that you can't fake (if you want a straight example look at Joe and Katya of a few series before this). Mad respect for both of them. Giovanni and Rose were fantastic and 100 percent worthy winners, I won't dispute that, but even putting aside the bias I hold as a queer person make me the arbiter of who won that series I would without a doubt give it to John and Johannes.

Score - *10/10* Well first of all what a beautiful vt we just had, this was stunning, this had so much strength and emotion it was just exceptional, I absolutely loved all the lifts especially the one at 1:39 it had so much power and flexibility it was just lovely, it was smooth, John was alot more fluid tonight than usual and had stronger lines, the leaps were a lovely surprise they were very impressive. I think it had absolutely everything a Contemporary needs, the footwork was extremely strong too, I think it belonged in the final tbh it really was just strong, keep shining John and Johannes yous are a beautiful team! Yous have inspired me to make me wanna teach me and my boyfriend (both boys) to pick up Ballroom and Latin dancing together so thabk you for making that easier and I hope yous are in the final! 💖💖💖

9 Very beautiful dance. It shows once again how great dance is as a storytelling device, and how that doesn't depend on gender. As beautiful as the message is and as they both look together here, I was a little distracted by the transitions between parts of the dance, such as the lifts. They could've been a bit smoother and carried the music through the whole dance. It was very expressive though and I loved the intensity they created by the end. John also really matched Johannes' emotional connection with the dance which is great to see!
