That's what people call it "dedication" but I prefer to call it "RESPECT". Keanu and the director "respect" their work, their story, their world, their arts. That's why they are willing to put away their half year training and practice. (Yes, Chad did some training too to get "the feel" of the scene.)

John Wick fight scenes are fiction since there is a great deal of choreography in the fight scenes to appear dance like for audiences. However, the weapons handling and hand to hand skills Keanu Reeves uses in the films are incredibly realistic for Hollywood standards. Millions of American citizens have participated in this type of competition (known as 3-Gun...rifle, shotgun and pistol) as well as plenty of other defensive/combative shooting leagues. There are literally hundreds of thousands of normal people, not military or law enforcement, in the US with this level of skill or beyond walking around everyday. It's a hobby to some, others a personal or civic duty to be highly skilled in the art of 'the modern technique' of shooting.

Disagree Zack9912000. Competitive shooting requires a shooter spending a lot of time on the range and putting a lot of rounds through their weapon. Being able to effectively apply the fundamentals of marksmanship under pressure will always be beneficial, especially in combat. Backbone

That's a non-sequitur statement. I doubt people go into Marvel films expecting top-notch/realistic gunplay - that's a franchise that features a talking raccoon that runs around with a gun almost as big as he is side-by-side with characters like a former paramilitary operative who uses "birds" that sprout from his backpack and air-to-ground missiles while flying around on a pair of metal wings. If there's anything the Marvel movies can (and should) be recognized for, it's the hand-to-hand combat. FIlms like Winter Soldier have excellent one-take fights that are kinetic and not quick-cut all to hell.

Some movie critic said Keanu's gunplay and jiujutsu skills were lacking realism. Unfortunately, said critic had all of his limbs broken in multiple places, and was shot twice in the heart and once in the head by an unknown perpetrator. Also, the phrase "Son of Chuck" was smeared in blood at the crime scene. Upon contacting Mr. Chuck Norris for details, he simply replied "He's ready", and walked off into the sunset. Further details are currently unknown.

This. This right here. This is how you make a sequel. Don't ask, "What can I do to rake in more cash?" Ask, "What do the fans want to see?" and "How can I give them what they want tenfold?" _John Wick: Chapter 2_ is (in my opinion) as good of a sequel as _Aliens_ or _Terminator 2_. Superior to its predecessor (arguably, in the case of _Aliens_ ) and made by directors who actually gave a shit about the art they were making, and were hell-bent on making something beautiful.

I heard from my friend he talked about Keanu Reeves before he took a role as Jack Traven in Speed. He spend many months for training like S.W.A.T. with real cop. The Matrix trilogy had a lot of great action scenes including gun fight, hand-to-hand combat fight and stunts stuff most of all Keanu did it my his own. He trained Kung Fu. Nowadays John Wick series he trained many of guns. That's badass

My wife had to watch the puppy scene here on youtube just to see if could handle watching this film and she was bawling like a baby. She said she wants to watch it but can't even handle watching it a second time even on fast forward. So I have to watch it when she's working or sleeping to keep her from bawling her eyes out everytime. Married life is beautiful 😂
