Just realized thanks to a Facebook memory. Today, March 3rd, actually marks the 12 year anniversary of when Rupert aka The Dupes was hit by a mini-van, rolled under the car from front to back on a snowy day and a bad case of the zoomies. He fully recovered with minor scratches and a blown out knee, which he had fixed and healed up perfect. He would live another 10 years having passed two year ago. He was a great big brother to our two technical difficulties and that legacy lives on now with our current pup, Howdy, who despite never meeting Rupert, shares a bit of his soul and loving personality. What a happy accident to having shared him with y'all today.

The cop's line reading at the door of John's house of "You... ah... working again, John?" is one of my favorite things ever. Also the guard at the door to the nightclub saying he lost "over 60 pounds" is him telling John in code that there's over 60 men inside.

With regards to Daisy: The actor who was playing the thug who 'killed' her spent hours after that scene just holding and petting the dog, and, according to rumour, bawling his eyes out at the very thought of hurting a puppy like his character did. Afterwards he adopted her. She's apparently SUPER spoiled now. So, a bit of IRL feel good to offset the horribleness of that scene.

The thing that absolutely sells John Wick as a character and the film’s premise is the acting done by Michael Nyqvist(as Viggo Tarasov-Main Crime Boss); the mere fact that Nyqvist played Viggo as completely and utterly SHOOOK crime lord-- throughout the entire film, legit is the major element that give Wick’s legend credibility-- then reenforced by every thing else. And it was the “Baba Yega” speech and the use of the dog’s death as a catalyst, which sets up the film -- perfectly!

I have one of 'those' letters and know all too well what it is like to drive your car at an immovable object with the aim of making the pain stop - what caused me not to end that run is that, before she passed, my late wife had me promise that I would not leave here before my natural time. And a man who does not hold to his word is no man at all. EDIT: And as ever I am impressed by how well a certain lady reads plot lines :)

I love the work that was put into this movie, and the intelligence that John shows in his assaults. Several times, he waits until a guard calls in to kill them. Giving him the largest window possible before they are noticed to be gone. When he took out Josef, he went in, placed the bombs on the cars, left, before taking out a guard with a long range rifle, and clearing everyone out. And the owner of the Continental giving John the, unofficial, heads up as to the helipad, was more than just liking John. Viggo had doubled the bounty to, explicitly, violate the neutrality of his hotel. That was an insult and attack on him. In was in his interests to see that Viggo paid for it.

My favorite sequence is the Red Circle, where it's set perfectly to the music, John Wick is still being pretty stealthy, and then he just tears through all the twerp's bodyguards while letting him know he could have killed him at pretty much any time throughout, and just wants him to be afraid first. Best kill is at his house, hammering the knife into the last guy. A lesser action film would simply have made John Wick outright stronger than the other guy and got him easy by overpowering him, but John Wick actually struggles, and then has to figure out a way to get that knife in somehow. John Wick isn't just better than everyone because he's stronger or a better shot, it's because he's fast thinking and resourceful. Neither the scene nor the kill I called best in this movie come close to being my favorites in the franchise. This is a franchise that gets better with each movie.

*Favorite Action Sequence* The Party of 12. JIMMY: "You, uh, working again?" JOHN: "Just sorting some stuff out." *Favorite Kill* WINSTON: "Your membership to The Continental has, by thine own hand, been revoked." *Which dog I would have taken* Every single dog AND cat with a Kill Order... of course. Enjoyed this reaction every bit as much as your 24 reaction. Can't wait to see both of them continued. Cheers!

My favorite line in the movie. "Oh." That's a BIG "Oh." - "I hear you struck my son." "Yes, sir, I did." May I ask why?" "Well. He stole John Wick's car sir, and killed his dog." "Oh." Looks like there are bigger worries than a bloody nose.

Miss Movies: he just lets him do it? Everyone everywhere: yea he doesn't want to get wrecked. And he didn't kill him cause the guy he was dealing with was still alive. Plus he was making a point. If you watch when John shoots the glass and doesn't hit his target. It's cause the glass stopped it or slowed it. I assume with the misses knowing about John stapling himself she works in the medical field.

Before John entered the club, when he was talking to the guard, "thank you sir" is one of the lines that really makes you understand how much John's reputation means to people who knew him. The dude is about 6'8 and built like a brick shithouse and still called him sir.

You two should at least react to some Donnie Yen movies too like SPL (Killzone in the U.S) or Flash Point since he's starring in the fourth John Wick movie and will be fighting Keanu. He's going to be a pretty awesome opponent to John.

Fun facts: Kevin Nash's character used to be John's driver when he was working. Also it's a soft bullet proof vest so it's not going to penetrate through, but the force has to go somewhere, usually broken ribs or at least strong welts. It's not meant to make you invincible, it makes it so you can survive. Keanu trained at Tarren Tacticle, there are video's of him working the shooting course and getting instruction on how to improve. His pistol of choice in the movie is a H&K P30 with a compensator. Also part of what made the fights so real was the reloading. We almost never see that in movies, but in the middle of the fight you can see him reloading because he's out of rounds. Lastly, one of the actors who was there for the dog "kill" (the dog is living happily) felt so bad that he went out and got a dog after the scene.

Imo.. Those scenes with John's wife had to be intense for Keanu.. As in real life he lost his first love at a young age in a car accident (if I recall).. And yeah. Just so well acted by Keanu. He doesn't get enough props for his emotional acting range imo

Every reaction I have seen of this movie, everyone has had the same reaction as you to the puppy scene. I did too, I am a sucker for cats and dogs and it hurt me so much to see it. But John gets the best revenge on all of them. Also Keanu is heavy into 3 Gun competition and he is really good too.
