Hans zimmer= Beautiful Jonh Williams = Classic

Zimmer is more emotional, a Superman who is discovering himself. Williams is a superman without fear and with enormous self-confidence.

I’m neutral, i think they are both amazing

Zimmer's musical sounds generally fits the mood and feel of a film, but it's rare I watch a film and leave it with a memorable theme in my head the way I do when Williams scores a film.

Hans Zimmer theme is basically like: “You see I’m both Clark Kent and Superman, not because I have to be... now... because I choose to be”

Zimmers theme is "Epic" but Williams theme is "Majestic"

I prefer Hans Zimmer's score for Superman. It's very unique and gives you a very alien feel. It has the power, gravity and mystery all in one combined, which really fits Superman.

Nobody gets how impactful soundtrack to character is. I feel like Hanz Zimmer embodied Cavill's superman very well based on his character and the Same goes for Reeve's Superman.

One theme is about the path of the Hero’s Journey, while the other is about the culmination. Both are awe inspiring. It’s like having to choose between Lou Gehrig and Babe Ruth.

Zimmer - epic, his music pumps you up and gets you into the scene. Williams - legendary, his music takes a scene and turns it into something greater

I don't expect anyone other than Hans zimmer could have composed a new soundtrack which is just on par with John Williams

Williams is about Force, Presence and Power Zimmer is about Choose, Experience and Do

I like Hans Zimmer's score. It's so hopeful, unique and emotional. The S in Superman's suit means Hope and this theme sounds very emotionally hopeful to me. Williams score is just legendary but is more about the just and super part of Superman to me, but I do love that it has a playful kidish feel to it where every child can get exited listening to it. Zimmer's version is more of the inner, emotional part of Superman instead of his outer Superhero side of him

What would be interesting is Zimmer doing a modern update of Williams score. As they are, they don't really mesh well together but i can seem how some more heavier drums like in the MOS Theme and stuff could modernize Williams' theme a bit. Both great themes for 2 very different Superman films though.

All due respect to Hans Zimmer I like his stuff I really do. And his Superman song is really good and it should have a place in the movie. What did John Williams score is the Superman song. It's what most people think of when they think of Superman. Zack Snyder was a moron for not including it.

For me as a 15 year old at the theater in 78 the epic sweeping John Williams’ Superman theme was magic as soon as the S flashed on the screen.Be that as it may I love the slow soft build up and then in your face Hans Zimmer theme in man of steel! Both are winners!

All Man Of Steel ever really needed was one or two of the John Williams score later on in the movie.. However, Zimmer captured the emotional lonely life of Clark covering up his identity.. Imagine it; if a man like Superman actually exited, the world would truely be terrorfied of him..

Hans Zimmers interpretation is perfect for the modern era. John Williams version will always be a classic. They are both perfect in their own right.

Zimmer's version make us feel how Superman feels And Williams version make us know how we feel about superman's heroicness. Personally I love MoS music.

In my humble opinion anytime I've heard a mashup of these two different themes the John Williams went always dominates the room every single time it doesn't really matter what piece they play it could be the Krypton theme song or it could be Superman's theme song it always dominates what Hans Zimmerman came up with for the Man of Steel always in fact the man of steals music just sounds like generic action music that would be played between the cues that John Williams actually wrote

I really love both, John William’s Superman theme is EPIC, but Hanz Zimmer’s “Flight” gets me every time! Put that together with Henry Cavill’s interpretation of the scene, it’s just MAGNIFICENT! 🥹💙❤️

I like both. WIlliams' theme is heroic, sweeping, and epic. I've also been listening to it for over 40 years. Zimmer's is more interspective and almost mournful, like other comments, an outcast finding his way in the world, which is the direction that Snyder was going. However, like most "heroic" themes, they are both based on perfect fifths.

Thanks for the great work Roland. Personally my preference goes to Zimmer as per the variety on using innovative sound, but I can't say I don't love Williams masterpiece.

To me Zimmer score fits the epic power and majestic feel of Superman where Williams score is slightly more dated but captures the soul and spirit of the character IMO

Williams theme no contest, it's timeless. I forget the Zimmer theme after every listen.

Sound's awful sorry not only is it to synthesize its to jarring and no matter how you try and make the hans zimmer version sound good it will never ever beat the John Williams original score masterpiece for this iconic character and that's was just one of their biggest problem with the man of steel taking away the classic iconic signature theme and replacing it with a crap version that just don't belong. It's like taking the classic iconic star wars theme and again replacing it with a completely new score with all the other new star wars film they made in the past boy there would be a uproar even thinking of doing it so Why would superman be any different. Because there was no love or care and that's why people wasn't all that keen of the man of steel and the fact how dark tone the film was with it story and how serious it was having no humor or even colour that popped out from the custom. Hopefully man of steel 2 will be a much more of a marvel type film Quality along with the iconic theme going forward and with some charm along with it like a captain america the first avenger or a wonder women vibe. This is what people expect from a superman film NOT BEING BORED TO DEATH till some action set pieces starts. Having no humour in-between or no Clark kent moments just bogs down the film because they wanted to do a serious side to him and that made superman less charming and likable. Why cavill had a tough time trying to do superman he couldn't bring him out to the surface like a reeve style did all because of the tone and dark story vibe it had going with it. So maybe this time round they will do some sort of John Williams Hans Zimmer mashup soundtrack but they need to do a real good job of it or just go with the classic iconic only that would be my preference.

I have been listening to more and more of these, and a mix of the 2 songs is the way to go, it works!

John Williams describe Superman *"From Our Eyes/prespective"* hero that saves everybody and the day Hans Zimmer describe Superman *"From Superman's Prespective"* the things he had to endure, learn to control yet not let emotion be in the way, the hardship of being accepted by Human etc

The difference between a Zimmer score and a Williams score is this... A Zimmer score paints a tapestry of color, emotion, and energy that perfectly compliments the film for which it was scored. A Williams score is the living force (pun intended) without which, the story could not be told. It is EVERY character, and the cast member with more lines than the hero.

Hans Zimmer's score is very good, it's incredibly good, but it's still nowhere close to John Williams' score

John's theme is more like American but Hans Zimmer's theme is more provoking that's why i lik that more

John William's Superman theme has far more variations throughout, with a better lead up, climax and an overall more grandiose epic sound that is in line with that of Superman.

Hans Zimmer's score feels so majestic

you cant compare it really because the style of the music is a completely different one. The old Superman was more heroic in the classic sense, and a little less serious. So a march like John Williams one wouldnt have fit the new Film but fits perfectly for the 78` Film.

Which one?The answer is a little bit complicated. JW Superman theme is awsome, and fit better for that film. Make the scenes more greater. So which is the better movie soundtrack, the answer is: JW Superman theme, but.... HZ soundtrack is brilliant. I never sit and listening JW theme, just for relaxing...But i do with MoS soundtrack. I mean MoS soundtrack much better if i want to listening without the film. So this is why complicated the answer.

The Theme by John Williams with a big Orchestra has more impression than a synthetic sound by Hans Zimmer

They are different but love them both. No comic book character has 2 epic soundtracks except Superman.

Both of them they just have this uplifting feeling of Hope and of something Greater that's inevitably bound to happen. I like to think of it with these themes applied to myself, if I ever feel down I play these themes because they just make me imagine that hope, no matter where, no matter how, no matter a million years, that Hope will not die even in its smallest form. Pretty inspiring to me.

Well 1 thing is certain,both versions of the song gives a sense of hope kinda vibe.....I love them both♥️

Hans Zimmer score makes me feel like I'm superman myself

My interest in film scores began with Hans Zimmer's "Flight." It is a love letter to the character and brings a majestic, otherworldly feel. John Williams's score is a beautiful melody that I believe is recognized by everyone on this planet at this point, and I sure hope people think the same of Hans Zimmer.

As much as I like both, I personally prefer Zimmer's. It gives a feeling of power and mystery to Superman that imo William's didn't.

I'll gladly take both John Williams and John Ottman over both Zimmer and X.L. any day and everyday. All that Zimmer ever did was precisely hybridize some of his prior works and forcefully rework it; and X.L. simply obliged and followed his example, denying his own instincts, if he even has any anymore. The Remote Control Productions monopoly disgusts me. All they had to do was take Williams' foundation and give it the *Crimson Tide* treatment. But no, no, no, they just had to deem it "irrelevant" and toss it out the window. That's a croc of B.S. and the biggest mistake of their whole career. I lost all respect for them from there. Makes them worth publicly ridiculing.

You can't beat the power and emotion of the original.

I honestly think that the two versions of the same story says more about us then it does the Character of Superman. This age (the 2020s) is depressing and self obsessed, darker than any other time in my life. There is a sorrow... in this time, like we have lost and are in decline. The beginning ... the ancient civilization of Krypton, the sense of loss in the music is profound. You can understand where a civilization and culture is by the stories it tells itself. We are in our decline. Superman lives and dies in just two movies. The music of John Williams was and is thrilling and joyful, exciting. Fun movie, youthful .. a time when we were, as a nation and culture, at the pinnacle of our progress, hope and optimism. These two movies gives us insight to what is happening within our own culture... the 1960s- 80s were a period of turning outward. Now this generation is turned inwards.

The funny thing about this is that (like Dune and TOTO's music) I think Zimmer distanced himself from Williams's score, so that he didn't feel compelled to sneak the main theme in there. Both themes are great and I love both personally.

I was, am and forever will be a massive fan of Williams' Superman Theme but it is a bit dated for my taste. Zimmer's score is what I prefer for Superman. Zimmer's music tells the story of Clark Kent and his destiny to become Superman, not because he has to but because he chooses to. It's more personal. Williams' music is more majestic but that music is more about how people perceive him and not his story, it's more victorious and is about the Spirit of Superman. Whereas, Zimmer's score makes you feel the absolute strength of Superman.

Would be interesting to see a triple feature of the horror genre, Werewolf By Night, Dracula, Lilith, Son and daughter of Satan, Man Thing have them in two feature length episodes each for Halloween for the next four years.

Some people like Zimmer's version better. I can understand that. But to be fair, we have already heard Williams' version many times and its "effect" is no longer as powerful. If we could listen to both versions for the first time, we could be more unbiased.

john williams score is more superman than any of the actors. It is superman. Zimmer sets atmopshere, Willams creates one of the greatest leitmotifs ever made effectively embodying superman at the highest level.
