John Lennon and Yoko Ono's ability to afford a real estate empire can be attributed to several factors, primarily John Lennon's success as a musician and songwriter with The Beatles, one of the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed bands in the history of popular music. The Beatles' success generated significant income from record sales, concert performances, and merchandise, which continued to earn royalties long after the band stopped performing together. This wealth allowed Lennon and Ono to invest in various assets, including real estate.
Yoko Ono, an artist and musician in her own right, also contributed to their financial stability through her own work and investments. However, it was largely Lennon's financial resources that enabled their investments in real estate.
Their real estate portfolio included a range of properties across the world. One of their most famous properties was the Dakota apartment in New York City, where they lived from 1973 until Lennon's death in 1980. The Dakota is a historic, luxury apartment building known for its Gothic architecture and prime location overlooking Central Park.
In addition to their New York City apartment, Lennon and Ono owned properties in England, including Tittenhurst Park in Ascot, where the famous "Imagine" video was filmed, and various other properties in the United States and internationally. Their investments were not just limited to residential properties; they also included farm land and other types of real estate.
Their ability to afford and maintain this real estate empire was not just a matter of having the financial resources but also reflected their interests and lifestyle choices. The couple was known for their activism and philanthropy, and their properties often served as bases for these activities as well as personal retreats.
In summary, John Lennon and Yoko Ono's real estate empire was funded by the wealth accumulated through Lennon's career with The Beatles, his solo music career, and Ono's contributions from her artistic endeavors. Their investments in real estate reflected their financial success, as well as their personal and philanthropic interests.

I am surprised to learn that John was interested in these remote properties, because he seemed like he preferred the city. Perhaps he was looking forward to having some peace and quiet. Too bad he didn't buy and move into one of them sooner.

Gee, donating lots of money to help the less fortunate is really out of character for a selfish, nasty, controlling witch that many would have you believe. Yoko might just be a little more cool than has been hammered for so very long.
