I’m on a Teri Garr binge tonight. I’d never seen her on Johnny before. Of course, her appearances on Letterman were legendary. She was so great - a wonderful personality, funny, beautiful.
Teri Garr is & always has been such a bright light. She's always in my thoughts & prayers. What a brave soul & I wish her better days ahead with her courageous battle against MS. I have many friends with this illness & want to see a cure today!
She was so cute and funny back then. Reminds me of Lisa Kudrow from Friends, and also a young Diane Keaton as she was in Woody Allen movie Sleeper. All three were very cute but "ditzy".
The first girl I took on a date is a leggy blonde with a remarkably similar look to Teri Garr, I have a soft spot in my heart for this flirtatious and funny actress. The young girl had the same kind of mannerisms, also like Lisa Kudrow although this predated her career.
@@iZacq I never really watched Friends. I basically gave up on sitcoms prior to that time. So all I know of Lisa was what I saw in various clips from the show.
@@tomc8617 Teri played Pheobes Mom on Friends. or the friend of her Mom, cause they were in a 2 Women 1 Man relationship or something. can't remember, haven't seen Friends in forever. first few seasons were the best, but Ross saves the later seasons. Once Ross had his third divorce he just has this crazy energy the rest of the show. has the best scenes. like the leather pants he can't get back on in a girls bathroom so he rubs baby powder and lotion all over his legs, of course it doesn't work and he's on the phone with Joey. I can still here his delivery of "Its not working! the lotion and powder have made a paste!". good stuff!
I saw a couple of shows with Dave Letterman, and he seems like such a lech. But that turned out to be true. i just wanted to see Teri being herself with THE best talk show host.
Today if a host made a comment "it's very attractive, both of them". Feminists and MeToo would demand his resignation and the show might even be canceled. Ridiculous times we live in.
I suspect that when comment like that was made to a women, it was prearranged. That the person who said it knew ahead of the time that the woman would be fine with it, maybe even their idea. Some women, at least back then, were cool with that sort of humor, depending of course on who it was who was telling the joke.
@@moto238 This isn't cancel culture. No need to apply that tag to everything, like people did a few years back with the term "political correctness." Stuff like this is categorized more properly as part of the "gender wars."
