After filming this, Teri, Don Peak (Assistant) and I went downtown to the Los Anteles Theatre and saw "HARD DAY'S NIGHT"! That was 1964. What a moment in my life. Thank you Teri Garr.
just saw an old interview with Ms. Garr promoting her book Speed Bumps I think it was called and she talked about how she had been lucky enough to see a Beatles recording session while in London and then John took her and others for a spin in his new Rollsroyce car and she said she was staying at Cass Elliot's flatt there. Ms. Garr is very much apart of our 60's culture.
Teri and I were friends, auditioned together and I asked if she would like to make some films on weekends. She agreed and they were always improv and spontaneous, though Where's the Bus was thoroughly pre planned. Thank you for your comments and enjoying our film.
The lady is a "keeper!" And lucky for you Hollywood Blvd of the time was not packed with costumed characters posing for Selfies. Teri was a REAL movie star and nobody knew it but you, John.
if musicals hadn't died out, she'd have def been great in them. Watch "one from the heart", around 49 min. in, she does a great, contemporary dance with Raul Julia. Very skilled and more in the film. She never gave up on dancing.
That's wonderful John. Fabulous memories with an amazing lady. I've had the good fortune to visit Hollywood a couple of times. I'm very 'star struck' about the place and love the 'history' of the place...❤
I saw a young lady on an LIRR train station platform who was dancing to music that she only heard and it reminded me of this movie. As it turns out, she was a dance instructor, and had wireless earbuds in her ears.
Man, I could watch Teri dance for hours! She is my all-time favorite actress. Thank you for sharing this beautiful little time capsule from the swinging sixties!
Teri Garr, 1964- Good God, I love it!! She has always been an absolute, all time favorite of mine!! It's very hard to understand, how she has been stricken with M.S.!! We'll all have, some condition sometime!!! We love Teri, Keep in the fight!!!💖
Loved Terri Garr. Ran into her several times over the years including a party at a friend's house up in the Hollywood Hills. A lovely person and very talented.
Teri, I just got cut-off from what I was going to say. For what I know of you from your films this clip totally represents YOU. I'm glad you and your friend the photographer were able to pull this off and preserve it. You are one of the greatest personalities in the business. You have carved-out a category of your own and locked it in. I'm sorry I don't care for Dave Letterman but he had good taste in having you on the show. I hope all is well and the doctors are taking good care of you. Bill
Billib, llib, libl, will I'm not Bill. Won't you marry me, Bill! I love you so, and always will! Teri is one of a kind, forever! You're a "lucky" person to have "worked" and know her!
Rest In Peace John Harris. The pain of mourning runs deep. John was a friend since the 1980s as well as one of my first film mentors, in both 2-D and 3-D. I will miss John very much. Here's a film he made with Teri Garr, when she was 20, about ten years before Mel Brooks' "Young Frankenstein." (The old soundtrack had some copyright problems so I cleaned that up, as well as some technical glitches and then edited this new version to accompany the new audio. This is my way of honoring my dear friend John, who I miss already.) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--o4zWag57Zs.html
I am almost 64 and I remember seeing this when I was a young teen, I think Terry Garr did Alot of Cool Things back then that helped her become a Truly Amazing Actress, Very Beautiful To This Day!!
Thank you for this. I think now it's going to be how I'll always remember Teri Garr. For me, this little clip captures the loveliness of her spirit and her beauty in such a timeless way that it makes me wish I"d known her. Thank you.

Aside from watching the lovely 'time capsule' of the talented Miss Teri Garr, another aspect I miss is the civility from then. I can remember when a young woman was safe being downtown on her own. As you can see in this clip, her only concern appeared to be that she was short on time. If a young woman went there now, she better be with friends or a boyfriend etc.....Gone are the days.
Terri Garr was so cute and pretty; very talented dancer too. I felt so bad when I saw an interview by an Australian tv show and she had that terrible MS. She's so gracious and such a beautiful person.
Thank you, ghlyall! The whole day was built on spontaneity. I didn't tell Teri she would be dancing in the street until we got to Hollywood Blvd. It was a two day shoot, as it turned out. We had a lens accident on day one., though a good deal of the film had been shot. I will be going back to the negative this year and doing a new HD scan. Thank you for your post.
NOW THAT,S A GOOD PRESENTATION OF TERI AND THE CARS SHOW THE TIME FRAME. AND THE 57 PONTIAC ACROSSED THE STREET AT 3.23 IN HER DANCE SCENE IS LIKE THE ONES I OWNED IN THOSE DAYS !....////
As suspected, I found a link to the song "Mexican Drummer Man" which gives credit to Hal Blaine, drummer and The Blossoms, vocals on the Herb Alpert recording used in this film. The record's release date is March 28, 1964. We could have filmed this in late '64, early '65. Thanks for your interest.
@@filmguy3d thank you SO much for doing so! I love the sixties, Teri Garr and dancing and independent unique films and shorts about humanity. Really made me smile. :)
that's what we need today break out of gray and live. that music and time was so great I would dance like her anytime. wow HARDS DAY NIGHT PROBALLY FEB OF 1964. TERI SO FULL OF LIFE STYLE. THAT WAS BLOSSOMS SHE WAS DANCEING TWO. AND SHE WENT ON THAT YEAR ON PAJAMA PARTY AND TAMI SHOW. WHAT GREAT TIME. I LOVE STORES SO FULL LIFE. IT REMINDED OF REVERE BEACH BOULVARD IN ITS HAT DAY. ALL GONE. YOU SOUND LIKE GREAT GUY NEW IT WAS SPECIAL MOMENT THANKS FOR SHOWING. I HAD NO ODEA SHE WAS GOING TO DANCE WHAT SIRPRISE. THANKS FOR SHAREING .
So great to see this. Thanks for capturing andcsharing a time before globalisation took hold. No uniform yet of jeans and trainers and towns that all look alike. Any more film? Love it!
This is so great! Teri seems to have been (in those days) exactly like so many of us probably have imagined she'd be like in person. Just... SO COOL. Also... how did Letterman not get his hands on this?!? He would have had a field day.
@Joseph B, Teri Garr also danced in The Big T.N.T. Show~It is still On RU-vid as of 3/2021. The concert was shot 11/29/65 & screened~(released) in 1966 & is a sequel to 1964's The T.A.M.I Show. Teri danced for the Ronettes in the upper back & other Performers & can be briefly seen on the side of the stage watching Bo Diddley play~(see the comments). It took place before a live audience at the Moulin Rouge (originally opened in 1938 as the Earl Carroll Theater) club at 6230 Sunset Boulevard.
She seems so nice and down to earth, its cool to see. She was probably already in tami show and Elvis movies by then. So much nostalgia in this short. Its crazy to think you guys were living right in the middle of those iconic times !
In many ways David Letterman said it best once when introducing her to his show: "...(accolade, accolade, accolade)... and one fabulous babe, Teri Garr!"
John, I just saw your comment on my Channel page. Did my noteworthy comment get removed? I thought this movie was great. Seeing Teri as a young woman, seeing Hollywood Blvd from the 1960s. Much later in the 20th century, I worked on some post production for "Two Days in the Valley" -- it was never used. LOL. But what a fun time: I worked in the Hollywood Building on Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood. Too much.
