He never takes a break, there is no bridge, solo, or any real pause. He sings all the way through. You look back and realize he was cool. not really a title everyone can have, but he was. RIP Johnny. Merry Christmas everyone.
When I first heard this song... I thought it’s all fun and jokes in the lyrics but as I grew older I realized there’s too much pain in the message of the song put into the words of a badass.
My own parents seemed rarely interested in music, when I was younger, other than classical, but somehow a Johnny Cash album made it's way into our house when I was as a kid, and this one has always been a massive favourite of mine, when I sometimes hear it on the radio, and I don't know why?
Guys (and Girls!), REALLY??! "Man in Black" was because he said he'd never where bright colors again until all of the MIAs & POWs were home from Vietnam! And, of course, all the soldiers, too. Sad note - he never did wear any other color to the day he died...
It's never too late, not really! He's got a zillion albums, and some wonderful videos here on YT as well. I regret that I didn't follow him as closely as I should have, and I'd give anything if I had seen him perform live. But his music will live on forever.
Thank god he didn't actually name his boy sue lol. My favourite johnny cash song is an inspirational one about a father who wanted his son to grow up tough and stand up for himself in a cruel world. RIP johnny you are a legend.
Tv censors this is from a network show "This is Tom Jones" episode 24 or season 2 episode 9 it actually aired in 1969 though not 70 like in the description.
This song allways makes me laugh and smile. And all the people that I sing it to. I heard there was a man who realy was named Sue after his mother who died at child birth. But who the hell censores Johnny Cash?
He did that performance under a good degree of duress I reckon. But he wouldn't let a little thing like a coughing fit or hiccups or such get in the way of that!....................................................A real pro.
@Leonard Niedermayer I LOVE learning something NEW! I have MANY of his BOOKS & I had no idea he wrote this SONG!! My Dad thought this was thee BEST song EVER!!
I LOVE Johnny Cash's music, this ALMOST something like if Weird Al tried country music! It's a great story, very funny and I was leaning forward, like I did the first time I heard it! Love me some Cash, both Johnny and the green stuff
@@gabrielfewkes1323 I don't know where you get your information from, lip-syncing was not something that was widely used in the late 60s or early 70s if at all. Country performers like Johnny Cash especially did not lip-sync.
my dad always said he thought of this song when ever he thought of me. he said thats why he named me jesse with the boy spelling so that id always know I was equal to any man. God I hate that man. but I still cry when I hear this song. I'm both glad and disgusted that he finally died.
My father named me. He was the biggest JC fan.. I am The Girl named Mikey ♥️ bittersweet knowing he knew he wouldn’t be there for me, but gave me a tool to survive without him. I’ll always love you more than you know.
