I met Johnny once. I knew he was popular but I was only 7. Dad, the newsman/reporter, was invited on the bus and I followed. I sat at the table and June made me hot chocolate while dad did his interview for his radio show. Fast forward. 2010 my wife and I were at the “Rock and Roll” hall of fame. Only a short 13 hour drive from our home in Canada. On the walkway outside of the hall of fame was a black bus. It looked familiar for some odd reason. We paid the extra to tour inside and that’s when I realized I knew that space and the memory of being there came back. I talked to my dad about it (now 75) and he confirmed my memory. Too cool.
Rick Kentner Lucky Kid;; great memory for you as an adult & great story to tell your kids & grand kids. Raise them up teaching them them the history of great music of all genres & they will actually apreciate it. Mine did!!! May God Bless You & Yout Family & make many more great Memories. 😊
I was at the RRHoF when Johnny & June's tour bus was parked out front for tours but couldn't remember the year. I am sure it was not 2010 so the bus must have been there a second or 3rd time. In any case, it was a real thrill to walk thru the tour bus. Loved every single second of it! I think it should be a part of the Rock Hall's permanent collection but perhaps they move it around so others can enjoy it. Was happy to see your comments here. What a thrill for you to revisit the tour bus as an adult with fond memories. 🎸
R G Thank you, and your right, I was typing too fast. I’m getting old in the brain and still not sure of the year but I believe 2006 may be a closer guesstimate.
@@rickkentner1713 I know for sure that my bus visit was definately after 2010...maybe 2014....I'd have to do a bit if research since I went to Cleveland for a concert and then went to the Rock Hall the same weekend. So that means the tour bus has been there more than once. I'd love to go thru it again.
Before they opened up this property I had the privilege of helping to restore this cabin. This is such a neat place. Brian and Sally are such wonderful people and I am thankful I had the opportunity to meet them and help them. I also was able to drive Johnny's car to a repair shop. If you ever get the opportunity to tour this property you will be glad you did. One day these old places will be gone and with them, the stories. Thank you for this video.
Thankyou for sharing He was a great man thats for sure, i could imagine him sitting in the chair, staring out the window. You must be a very proud owner. I imagine you'd almost be able to feel his presence in that beautiful home
What a beautiful place. Please keep it open. For all of us. Johnny was defiant.. As many of us are. Please keep it open regardless of laws. I think he would recognize that as right...as many of us do. Thank you for keeping this part of history available for everyone! I truly respect your hard work ❤😌😌
I got a love for Johnny's music growing up as my dad played his music all the time. I still remember the day when my dad told me that Johnny Cash was giving a performance at a nearby small town. My dad really wanted to go but he had to work. He owned his own company but had just started out so didn't have anyone to cover for him. Dad was really excited he was coming but really bummed he couldn't see him. I'm almost 60 now & my son who is 22 plays Johnny's music all the time. He was a good man who overcame his addictions & in doing so, he went on to bless so many with his music. And my dad now gets to hear Johnny sing in person in Heaven.
I met Johnny once at the airport in Anchorage Alaska. He asked me and my friend if we wanted to go fishing with him. Due to the fact I was with my friend to pick up her Mother I thought it would be rude to just take off and go fishing. I still kick myself in the butt over that decision. Would have loved to fish and play guitar with him. I'll never 4 get he introduced himself. "Hey, I'm Johnny Cash"!
I've seen Johnny 30 times and I've been to his home twice. I made a picture of Johnny Cash and myself... my wife and my oldest son (John Wesley). Although Johnny Cash is gone now.. I miss Johnny... He was like my oldest brother to me... I love Johnny!!! My name is Johnny Cee.
@@johncriswell3836 Hopefully I can get down there somedays. Also would like to see the Carter families place. Would have lived to see him play live. Your really lucky to have seen him and met him.
What a beautiful homestead! It just oozes with beautiful memories and knowing that Johnny owned it, makes it even better. I'm curious too, if anyone has ever seen or heard perhaps, Johnny's loving spirit visiting? Bless you Johnny for all your work and faith, and to those that keep the memories alive!
I would like to know the real history of that cabin building 1800 what a beautiful place back yhen huh, I would think that that place would be historical spot before Johnny even bought it
I used to listen to some of his albums when I was younger. Someone sent my mother a limited edition gold Johnny Cash album framed it didn't say who sent it and we never found out who sent it. My uncle was one of the original Jourdonaires that sang with Elvis. 10:22 notice the rebel flag on his jacket. Back then it just meant the south and being a rebel and had nothing to do with racism. People just want to stir up political crap all the time.
My gosh! The house is absolutely beautiful! But also, I don't think the property could have a better suitor. Seriously! I hope she and all the others who are involved, enjoy the place for many many years to come because if you can know and talk about a property like she did, you deserve that in the very least.
Fascinating..thank you for sharing. I saw June & Johnny at the Ohio State Fair -I believe around 1968 A young girl singer was introduced that day on stage.Tanya Tucker.
When I imagine a place of refuge this is what I would imagine, what a gem of a little place nice job in keeping it up and sharing it with us, God bless!
I Loved Johnny Cash, I lovedvthe way he play the Guitar.and try to play it like him. They say he had Guitar books out on Amazon. So I ordered some..Well Johnny, your up in Heaven with family and friends... Billy Graham is one..he was your good friend... Well Thank You Johnny for your Talents, and I lived you songs have most of your records...love Barbie Lockett ♥️🙏✝️
I had no idea that anything was preserved. Last I heard, I was saddened by the hearing that the Museum was rundown, vandalized and basically forgotten! Is this the same museum? If so you've done a splendid job of preserving some well deserved history! Johnny Cash was a God fearing humble Christian that could raise hell, to be certain! Here in Canada we've had famous cigar smoking, whiskey drinking, swearing Catholic Hockey coach priests, while just being human they did wonderful things in their lifetimes! God bless you both for preserving Johnny Cash's homestead! I can truly see why he loved that place. Its featured in a couple of songs too! I can still see June coming down those stairs!
Can't you just see Johnny bootin the door open, looking out the window and deciding.. " Fine day for some fishin', but first I'm gonna drag that couch out there".. THAT is priceless.. oh the times you wish there were security cameras. 💜✌️
Wow , I've never knew Johnny Cash had this house . I have the same kind of knotty pine cabinets in my kitchen . I would love to see this in person someday . Thanks for sharing this video .
im so glad you shared this. boy if the walls could speak suppose they do through some of the most talented ,hard working people that made music that changed the lives of everyday people.
I would love to visit he was always a hero of mine. Love that he was so human.

Thank you for sharing this what a wonderful place and well looked after, was listening to John all day on my PC Media player I just finished up switched to you tube and first thing I saw was this video, coincidence or was Johnny mapping out my path lol, Best Wishes from Scotland x :)
This is brilliant thank you, it has gone of my Johnny cash bucket list of places I will visit when my girls have grown up and me and my missus will do our travelling
This house reminds me of Elvis Presley's home Graceland, but more warm and homey. Beautiful home, thank you for sharing it with us. Rest In Peace Johnny and June.
The Legend Jonny Cash, I like the piece of art that depicts family, music and the Bible. Thank you for the tour. Take care one and all GOD Bless you and yours. M
I can't say enough how I'm just as big a fan of the lady, as the house. She is really something! Some people you just look at them, hear them speak and know immediately you are in good hands.
I lived across the road and up the hill from Johnny in Hendersonville. Ten. Roy Orbison built a house for his parents directly across from Johnny and Connie Smith And Marty Stuart lived next door.
I wish I could listen to marty talk about the history of country music. I enjoy his music very much, but I appreciate his preservation of the history of country music.
@@ronniebishop2496 definitely important, it's sad what has been lost to time, and if Marty hadn't been in the right place at the time and had the vision to preserve what he did , and is still preserving, what would have been lost and forgotten. I have a cubic crapload of respect for mr stuart for what he's accomplished. The guy deserves a medal or something. And he's a fantastic musician. Would love to have the opportunity to have a conversation with him.
Neither does that stupid mask on her neck! Gosh, I hate how the government has taken over without even firing a shot and how people just act just like sheep!
What a great man my mother got me into Jonny cash she passed away in February 23,2021 before she passed she asked me to play his music he was a inspiration to my mother 🥲
I had the pleasure of checking Johnny and June into a Hotel I worked at years ago in Toronto! Roughly the middle eighties...If anyone's interested, the suite they stayed in was called the Waterview (kept for VIPs)......It rented for 1,800 per night! Johnny and June smiled, seemed to be down to earth People! P.S. He was performing at the Toronto Convention Centre that weekend, introducing ATM machines called Johnny Cash Machines for Canada Trust!
Hi Sally, so nice to see you again it's been a few years since we met! I worked with Brian at ServiceMaster International for a few years with John, Leslie, Maha and Ralph. I hope that you guys are doing well along with Chris and his family, those were the good ole days. Please tell Brian hello for me, take care and may God continue to bless you! - Randy Peacock
I lived in Bon Aqua. Grampa had Holland and Dotson meats. Met Johnny there. Back in Canada now . This house was just down the road from me near the Bon Aqua springs but I never met his mama
What a beautiful property. I think if I owned a lovely old farmhouse like that, I’d want to live in it - and maybe build a separate building where visitors could see the Cash artifacts. Thanks for sharing.
