Just bcuz he was charged with something that has a sentence like that doesn't mean he plead guilty to it. I'm sure this dude had lawyers get him some kinda deal and probably plead to a lesser charge with a lesser sentence. Things like that happen quite often, even to the average person. Like I had a friend who was in a car accident, he had accidentally hit somebody on a bike and fled, well he turned himself in and the state charged him with "hit and run resulting in death or serious bodily injury" and the sentence on that is like 6-12 years if found guilty. Well he lawyered up and went to court and ended up getting a deal, plead guilty to a lesser charge, and has never ever seen the inside of a jail cell. That's how the law works
