I love how they took this back to the old school days of animation where they had the actors actually act out the scenes while the animators sketched their physical movements and facial expressions to fit the characters. This movie is an underrated masterpiece.
Brilliant idea to have the voice actors ,not just saying the lines together, but act out the scenes while recording. This brought out the actors ability to BE the characters and improvise better. This method of voice acting added something special to the animated characters. And I bet the voice actors had a blast recording this way. awesome!
Will anybody point out just how everyone is in a funny costume and jumping around to be in character whereas Bill Nighy is in a suit piece and he is still a rattlesnake. Talent at its best
Johnny Depp is very different speaking in an interview and when he is acting very very different ... He is the best actor... That is the interesting thing about him.. I love it 💕 and love all his movies..
+Neekunj Sharma I have to agree: I may not like all of the movies he's in, but HE is good in all of them. And each performance is unique (unlike someone like Al Pacino, who, while being a good actor, tends to play the same kind of person 95% of the time, same goes for many other top actors). Leonardo DeCaprio is also excellent in pretty much everything he does, even if the movie itself is not that great. JW3HH
WOW! I completely love the way they filed this, I've never seen or heard of an animated movie being filed like this. I can't imagine how much fun this must have been, it almost looks like they where putting on a play.I watch the movie in a whole different even more fun and hilarious (then it already is) light, now I picture the actors acting it out when I watch Rango.
De hecho esto se llego a ser a comienzos del cine animado un ejemplo es muchas de las películas de Walt Disney Sabiendo esto que hayan rescatado Esta técnica para esta película la hace aún más especial de lo qué ya era
I love the fact that there's not only an animated film but reference shots of the whole film so if we put all of the shots together, we essentially have Rango but in human form
One thing that's really strange about this movie is that, unless I missed it, there is not one scene where Rango moves his eyes independently like a real chameleon. I thought for sure they would make some kind of joke about that. Maybe they did but had to cut the scene for time/cost.
there are a few actually! what came to mind for me was when he first entered dirt and was copying how the townspeople walked, before he turned around he looked over his shoulder with one eye, then both, then turned :)
I do wish that they made most animated this way. I think back to some featurette I saw about shrek, and there’s one part where Cameron Diaz was saying that when she took the role she was excited about doing the voices because she imagined her and Michael and Eddie on the same room riffing off one another. But then when she got there she realize that it would just be her by herself. Anyway that idea always stuck with me.And it’s funny because I know I’ve seen other little clips here in there in my lifetime of the people that do voices for animation and there’s been times when I have seen like two or three people in a booth at once. But never anything like this where people are moving around and acting out scenes. It sounds so great. Imagine if like the guys from Dragonball Z we’re doing this when they recorded their voices
I know! I think more animated movies should do this instead of having the actors in a little booth. It gets them more in touch with the character and makes the voice acting more believable. Like motion capture without the...motion capture.
We need someone to get every clip of the actors acting out Rango, edit them to have proper scenery, and put them all together to make one live action rango
I have to admit: Rango was much better (and funnier) than I was expecting. As ILM's first all-CGI movie, they did a heck of a job! Hope they do more. JW3HH
Everyones talking about Johnny, but its also neat to see Gore Verbinski at work behind the scenes. Say what you will about him (because he definitely doesnt have a perfect track record) but he is a visionary and I view him much the same way as Del Toro. Give them creative freedom from the studios and theyll make something awesome.
"LET ME DO MY JOB!!! You brought me in now were gonna play thing out TILL THE END!! - Rattlesnake Jake, played the awesome and brilliantly fantasticly amazing, BILL NIGHY.
