I like The Tourist, I like the storyline, I love Johnny Depp's performance on the movie. The only problem is there is no chemistry between him and Angelina Jolie.
This was just 10 years ago. He looked amazing, even though I think by this time he had started dating AH and when things prob started to go downhill. When I watch him in the courtroom I see how the people and things he allowed in his life during this 10 year span brought only darkness. I'm rooting for you Johnny! Sending you love and light.

I loved The Tourist! - and I’m not a Depp or Jolie fan in general. It doesn’t take itself too seriously, and it’s very much a throwback to the Hitchcock films of the 40s and 50s. And it has great scenes of Venice! All movies do not need to be pretentious - it’s okay to just have a movie that is a care-free fun ride.
@@nevelyn3960 I can relate to that generally, as I get bored easily during movies (which is why I watch more series these days than movies). But the uniqueness of this - as it was more like the movies of the golden era in Hollywood in some respects - kept my interest. If it had been the typical modern Hollywood action fair… it would have put me to sleep. So I guess you could say, the things about it that some people DIDN’T LIKE are precisely what kept my attention.

Watching this after watching days of the Depp v Heard defamation case in State of Virginia. As he says, Heard completely broke him. He met her on the set the Rum Diaries (2011), and some time later he started his relationship with her. Ten years later reputation in shreds due to her highly publicized false accusations, bloated and looking old (still beautiful though in his way) he states in court that even IF he wins he has lost everything and will never come back from this. She harangued him, hit him, punched him, threw things at him, incessantly berated him, then the cherry on her mentally ill cake, at the height of the MeToo movement, (which I highly support, BTW), she accused him of Domestic Violence loudly, publicly, and incessantly. He is now utterly cancelled. Yes, it was he who was the victim of DV, not Amber Heard. And yes, it is rare, but it does happen.
