It has now been 23 years since this interview and if you watch till the end you will hear Johnny reference school shootings. And if you watched any part of the defamation hearing, you can clearly see that the Johnny in 1999 is just like the Johnny of 2022. He is a gentle and decent man who clearly was targeted by a less than stellar human being.

That's a great way to put it, I like the way he doesn't get turned around in questions, to be polite, he'll think about it, then say yes if that's how you understood it, yeah, and smile.
When I was growing up, this was why my friends and I all thought he was an ideal guy. He was artsy and very thoughtful, shy-ish and somewhat quiet spoken, but very kind and he can light up a room! It's amazing how many people who have met him say he is the nicest and most sincere person. I wonder if that is because he has such a presence or because it is so rare to meet people in Hollywood with such genuine kindness.
This is one of my favorite looks on him, long hair, clean face and not a lot of jewelry and scarves to cover up his beautiful good looks..... so young looking, so humble and not that comfortable on camera just being himself as opposed to a character. Also has the sexiest voice!
JD is one in a million stars. He's got it all & no matter what a stupid movie studio head or tabloid says. He will forever be in the hearts of the people.
He’s the most handsome, charming, humble, and funny man to ever live. Also his voice is just so sexy, and he’s an incredible actor. AH had him and was horrible to him. I’m so glad he got away and hope he has all the happiness he deserves.
I'm a straight man and I wouldn't want to get jiggy with him but apart from the fact that he is very charming, I have no hesitation in saying that in his prime he was the most beautiful man I've ever seen.

What a sweet, soft spoken man. Just watched this again today & I can't believe how creepy it was to hear him talk about not raising his daughter here in the States because of all the gun violence. Even in 1999 we had this problem & now it's still here & getting worse every day.

Watching this while waiting for the jury verdict on the depp/heard trial. I was never a huge Johnny Depp fan, but this trial somehow sucked me in and once I saw what he's been through and the lies and manipulation of Heard, I somehow became a Johnny fan. I remember watching Edward Scissorhands as a child and initially being creeped out, but last night I watched it with my daughter and I couldn't help but smile the whole time because it's just a sweet, nostalgic story starring a truly sweet person. Team Johnny!!

I like Johnny but I don't follow him that much but I do remember him looking really young for so long and then he just aged after he started with the Pirates Movies. He is the most eclectic actor period. In my opinion no one has taken on as many diverse characters as he has. truly a natural talent for someone who never aspire to be an actor and got his first gig by chance!

I am watching this now on May 23, 2022 and I am blown away by what he said about raising his then baby girl in Europe as opposed to the United States. He talked about turning on the TV and seeing gun violence in our schools on the same day that this horrendous gun massacre happened in Uvalde, Texas! It's despicable and unacceptable that 23 years later we are still experiencing this crazy gun violence. And Johnny mentioned that Europe has much stricter gun laws. Why in God's name can't we have safer gun laws? It's time to get rid of those in government and specialty groups who haven't voted for this in all of these years. Especially after the tragic deaths of 20 children and 6 women at Sandy Hook nearly 10 years ago. Maybe after Johnny is freed from his trial that ends this Friday, he can advocate for gun safety in the USA. That would be epic. Godspeed ahead, Johnny, I know you will rise higher than before. Hey.... Johnny actually pronounces the word "Particularly" correctly. I've heard so many people (even very educated people) pronounce it wrong. A lot of people say it something like "particlary". This guys a very well spoken eccentric, and I love him for all he is.

Horrific. Meanwhile, the jury is deliberating - curious if they will find for Johnny or Amber. In this interview, Johnny touchingly talks of how his 6 month old baby girl “gave him life”. I love this movie Sleepy Hollow. JOhnny Depp has never played in ordinary movies. Remarkable talented man. So glad he fought for his reputation and truth. So important for all DV survivors. Love this man.
