Johnny Flynn and the Sussex Wit play Cold Bread and Eyeless In Holloway live at the Komedia in Brighton on Tuesday 25 May 2010
Both songs appeared on Johnny Flynn and the Sussex Wit's debut album A Larum.
This was possibly the best Johnny Flynn gig I've seen so far, featuring a near 50-50 mix of crowd-pleasing classics from A Larum and some really rather awesome songs from forthcoming second album, Been Listening.
Been Listening is due for release on 7 June 2010. The album will be available as a regular CD edition, 2 CD special edition & double vinyl LP edition. I will be buying the double vinyl version, which also includes all the Sweet William EP songs... and the 2 CD special edition, as I want the bonus tracks, especially the demo version of title track, Been Listening. Following last night's full-band show at the Electric Ballroom in London (26 May), Johnny heads off to Scotland for a series of solo shows, including dates in Ullapool, Stornoway, Inverness, Aberdeen and Dundee. Rescheduled full-band shows will take place in Manchester on 29 June and Glasgow on 30 June.
