pure class! Thank you Johnny for the wonderful years with the smiths! thank you for being such a great collaborator and shining your skill upon us. you're unforgettable
I don't understand all the comments here that Marr can't sing. I think his voice sounds great on this track, better even than some of his Healers stuff. What's much more important, this video is proof that Johnny actually knows how to play a bad-ass guitar solo!!! Marr rules!!!
I wouldn't say 'fat' - the man has been around 7 and a half stone all his adult life and now I suppose in his late 40's he's getting a little bit 'jowly' as his face fills and drops - it comes to us all mate! The haircut isn't doing him a huge favour I admit, but Johnny Marr IS Johnny Marr, and skeleton or Jabba The Hut he'd still be foxy as fuck and a fabulous guitarist, so there! Marr is the man! I love him! Legend!
@TheShivs I love Johnny Marr and I think the music he played in the Smiths was amazing, but you can't deny that Morrissey is leagues above Marr in singing and writing lyrics. That having been said, I can't stand Morrissey's solo stuff. I think Marr and Morrissey were just musically meant for each other, they'll never be as good performing as solo acts in my opinion.
a lot better than morrisseys version in my opinion Morrissey screams the lyrics and changes it up too much I love morrissey and his solo stuff. But I do think marrs version of meat is murder is far more superior
