I saw him play in Las Vegas a few years ago and then saw Morrissey this year, and the Johnny Marr show was so much better! I Can’t wait to see him play with the Killers in August! Johnny Marr live 10 out of 10. Morrissey live 3 out of 10!

La carrera en solitario de Johnny Marr (Manchester, 1963) exguitarrista de The Smiths ha ido creciendo con cada disco, caso de "The Messenger" (2013), "Playland" (2014) y "Call The Comet" (2018), ahora se desborda en esta obra magna de dieciséis canciones y 72 minutos de duración. "Fever Dreams" se divide en 4 EP’s de 4 canciones cada uno, que ha ido lanzando paulatinamente, en una tendencia que ha venido marcada por la pandemia, algo que también han hecho Beach House con su último trabajo. Estamos ante el álbum más ambicioso y variado del británico. Marr ha optado por revivir el underground de Manchester y como cabía esperar en un disco tan extenso, a veces lo consigue y en otras ocasiones falla estrepitosamente. Hay piezas con guitarrazos convincentes e imaginativos como en el caso de "Counter Clock World". Marr tardó, nada menos, que 26 años en debutar en solitario con un disco bajo su nombre, fue "The Messenger" en 2013, desde entonces ha ido ganándose a un buen puñado de fans y demostrando que su personal forma de tocar y componer merecen un hueco en nuestra biblioteca musical. These are cool videos but they are not playing this live.

It is my impression that year after year Johnny Marr dives more and more and more into pure formalism. Sadly, most of his recent creations, perfectly arranged though, fail to create an emotional impact... They are merely soulless. I know there is no chance of regrouping with the abominable one, i wouldn't like it either, but some new collaboration with Brock or Sumner or Johnson or even the Jarmans or someone might look like a damn good idea to me!

The music is great but Johnny still needs Morrisey or a singer to add that element that transforms his ideas to great and classic

The music is so dumbed down compared to call the comet
