Really outstanding work mate, thank you for sharing. I think you gave it a tad too much of delay tho, but it is the closest it can get without a Jaguar and actually being Johnny Marr.
@@edmoification yeah well it doesn't really matter, there's a reason his signature is a jaguar not a tele. And after all, tone really is in the fingers
Well done Sir you've got my subscription ( I KNOW NOT EXACTLY THE RECORDING CONTRACT YOU DESERVE ) but many thanks from an old man, you absolutely nailed it and you made my day a lot better have a wonderful week. PEACE AND LOVE TO EVERYONE ❤❤.
so it's compression > EQ > Chorus > Reverb (which type? plate? room? spring?) > and then delay? or delay before the reverb. and then a boost at the end?
Not sure what that is in £ But I only paid £80 for the guitar. Can’t remember what guitars I had at the time. But bagged myself the JM jag now 👌🏻. Always have something cheap / project knocking around in my bedroom 😜
JM might not use a compressor pedal as such but what you hear on a record has had tonnes of compression added at every stage of the recording from the amp/desk/sends/mastering so a high quality compressor like a Keeley will give that ‘studio sheen’ in a live/bedroom setting so go Kick Rocks dude.
When you go DI for cleans, you do it for the compression attack. Compression also gives you that smacky attack. Johnny likes hot pickups and 11 gauge strings, but for any strat or tele to get like Johnny you gotta understand what this guy is doing is run of the mill tone shaping. You can get very spanky and organic levels of compression. Get a nice hit and then diffuse. Comp'd guitar blends so much better with reverb and chorus. And with a mid and bass roll off you can get smacky treble side with 10 gauge or whatever. Johnny Marrs gear today doesn't so much reflect his sounds of yesteryear. Dynacomp is a No. But compression with mix knobs and release times, is the GOAT effect
LOL this has to be a drunken comment! Fucking hilarious. I don’t think I’ve ever read “wannabe” spelt out properly .. or was it the start of a new sentence 🤷🏻 well never know what Oli wanted to be 🥲 perhaps an accountant?!
