Beautifully done - Johnny sings with Marvin Hamlisch in 1981 on a Hamlisch special. A wonderful pairing of two gifted individuals, musical icons in their own time. Please enjoy. **
I'll always remember YOU Johnny Mathis...One could never forget that voice, those eyes, that smile..your kindness.. you are always in my heart forever more.. Jane in Ohio
Just found you again Johnny, after 50 some years.....you are thee Greatest.....My highSchool sweetheart and I fell deeply in love while you were singing in the background....never,ever forget you...All our love, M & J
I just need my Johnny Mathis fix on a daily basis. Since my husband died, his voice brings back all our memories together. We both loved him, and saw him in person. I would love to see him again, that's on my bucket list too.
Going to his concert at Foxwoods in 2 weeks, a gift for my eldest Brother who has always loved his music, and taught me how to love and enjoy Johnnys' music also
I first heard Johnny Mathis at a show when I was 16, many years ago. This is my all time favorite song of his that I've never heard sung in concert, (have attended about 8 of his shows) and as far as I know he's never recorded it either. Thank you so much for posting this song. For some reason most times I listen to it, I'm moved to tears. The lyrics as sung by Johnny are just so poignant. Thank you for posting this, Lenore.
Some years ago I saw Johnny in concert. What a class act. Took my Dad and sister; both are gone now due to cancer. Will always remember that great night with them.
Wow I didn't know Johnny Mathis had a version of this song until now... wow really mesmerizing, brings shiver up my spine .... truly I'm a Mathis fan -- die-hard fan!
I recently met Mr Mathis,, and that was a spiritual thing (hate the word 'magic") He possess agape love. Through all his records success and financial security, he still has agape love and I truly felt it when I shook his hand and he was so so gentile. Now there is another wonderful powerfully great musician as well in this video and of course that is Marvin Hamlish another gentile giant. I love his music and playing. Just wonderful
I've recently played a lot of pianist playing Scott Joplin compositions and found Marvin Hamlisch's the best. And there really are just no words to describe Johnny Mathis' voice.
This is a TRIBUTE to John Royce Mathis, while he is living and loving His family and fans. I HAVE been a person who has supported in his entire career, as an entertainer, from 1957 to the present time Why has Johnny not got a star on HOLLYWOOD BLVD? Let his FAN Base, Do It Now! Let us show and TELL him Now, Not Later! As Johnny says in one Of his offerings, LIFE IS A SONG WORTH, SING IT....We love and cherish you, for the whole person, YOU ARE. YOU are one of GOD's Treasures Emelda Lawson
+Susan M DePaul It is a disgrace if that is the case. How can one of the greatest singers ever who has overcome all kinds of prejudice not be there? But then i look at some of the later additions and think he should not be anywhere near these people.
+Susan M DePaul He DOES have a star, he got it decades ago. He wore white slacks and shoes. What he doesn't have is an honor from Kennedy Center, which is disgraceful
I wish to send this song, REMEMBER ME, in memory of my Beloved husband. Love does not die, when the Person does.. It goes into, Infinity! THANK YOU...Johnny Mathis....Keep Loving us with your GIFT. Emelda Lawsonl
Another beautiful song sung by the great Johnny Mathis.with the legendary composer Marvin Hamlisch. Would love to see all of this concert. We don't have Arsists of this calibre anymore sadly
Thank you lenore for making these videos for all of us to enjoy!!! Watching JM is such an enjoyment. He makes life easier with his voice. These videos will always keep him close to my heart.
+jonas reis Concordo c/ vc, Joana Reis.
Absolutely the best- . And wonderful together with Marvin- who was fortunately decorated with many awards including a Pulitzer. Write to the board of directors of the Kennedy Center - they are in charge- which is always headed by each First Lady. This might be one way- i don't think they can - unfortunately hear our outrage. Shame on them. Happy happy to Johnny! enjoy.
thank you for your note, Wendy. So sad and a loss- still young. I'm sure Johnny along with the many other singers who were fortunate to know him and sing Marvin's songs- will be quite saddened by the loss. Thank you for sharing the link- there are many other songs on YT of Marvin's- by Johnnhy and others. Take care.
lenoremewton, no tengo el gusto de conocerte, pero tu gesto demuestra mucho , gracias por tu informacion , y el detalle de tu canal , voy ha visitarlo ,gracias nuevamente
My boyfriend was in the hospital. I visit and there they were. Another girlfriend I was hurt left them. Went to cubao , araneta Coliseum, he had concert there at that time. So every time I hear him that incident gets stuck in my head. But that was not the only time I have seen him with another girl.
Hi Lenore, Hearing of Marvin's passing today as on Twitter, Jason Alexander posted his condolences. I sent this link & he replied saying he knows this song well. U may be hearing from him here. Check Twitter to see the conversation. God Bless, Marvin, for the most beautiful of lyrics + teamed with beloved Johnny Mathis=the best video of all time. Thanks again for this. It always moves me to tears for some reason. I wish Johnny would sing this in his shows. Bye for now from Canada. Wendy.
This is my favorite singer all my life. This man has such a unique voice in the world of popular music. He is working on a new album with Clive Davis and Babyface. Lady Gaga- dynamic performer is my new book Richard Shaw Audible.Com.
@johnnygal62 - thank you for sharing such lovely sentiments- I'm not sure Johnny realizes the deep effect he has on people- it's far beyond enjoying his voice and music- he takes one to a place that is elevated, often, so glad you found it here. A quick search- I do not see it recorded either. Please enjoy and you're very welcome- very glad to share- these treasures are for everyone to enjoy.
