Even at his greatest, and with all the accolades and applause, he didn't need his ego massaged like the 3 late night losers now who have to have the audience stand up every night for a bunch of lousy, politically filled jokes that there is uncomfortable laughing for. RIP Johnny.
There is a Thanksgiving show where Doc and Johnny have a back and forth about Thanksgiving. I don't know the year, but it is a must see if you haven't seen it.
One thing I'm thankful for in this day and age of cynicism and vitriol is the fact there are never any trolls in these particular comments sections. No one comes here to belittle the man or his memory. No one comes here to act as gatekeeper of his legacy or consider others to have lesser appreciation of his humor and genius. I agree, It's great to see the original openings and music and titles again. I love all these performances and interviews @Johnny Carson is uploading. But I really want more Full Episodes released, along with the studio commercials with Doc or Ed, please! 🙏 They only uploaded 2 Full Shows within the last 6 months or more. September 26th 1974 and Nov 12 1976. Both great shows, but definitely full shows, including this one from Thanksgiving.
Keep in mind: Half of the original 102 Pilgrims died within a year at landing at Plymouth because they weren't prepared to land so far north (they were aiming for Jamestown, Virginia), & the Native American tribe they celebrated Thanksgiving with agreed to help them live of the land in exchange for weapons & defense to fight off another tribe.
This is not possible because we know that all of the native people lived in perfect Harmony with each other before the white man came here and spoiled it all
