Show me one other fighter-ever-who made Barrera miss that many times. I will save you the trouble. There isn't one. Now think about all the guys Barrera fought. I don't know what demons Johnny was living with but he was beautiful in the ring. Vaya con dios juanito.
I don't care what anyone says Mexican-American boxers just move better and have better overall defensive mobility than Mexican fighters. They might not counter 👊as well or hit as hard from a stationary position. But they move better.
Johnny Tapia put Alberquque New Mexico on the map. He was proud of where he came from & always represented so well. Rest in Peace Champ. Me and my dad would always enjoy his fights on Solo Boxeo
This man knew his oppenents reach down to the millimeter, where it would be placed and had the meanest combos....Also, his life story makes me love him even more because I am not a stranger to horrible tragedy. R.I.P you are very much missed.
Johnny Tapia is one of the best new era fighters I have seen. American out New Mexico USA. His defensive skills were just amazing. Offensive skills were amazing also. Fighters today would lose sleep if they had to fight Tapia. Boxing hall of fame stock. Just making sure Joe Rogan doesn’t copy me and try to jump on the Tapia bandwagon like he always does with his filthy mouth. 0:07
Tapia with the longer hair was the ko version of him he was looking to knock people out , buzz cut tapia under the teaching of freddy was a 12 round non stop well enduranced boxer who was all about angles and traps and out pointing guys but even late in his career johnny was always down for a slug fest and would smile hell of a guy RIP to johnny forever missed
Lets not full ourselves johnny wasnt a boxer..he was a fckn brawler..a fckn warrior if ufc would have been big back then i think he would have done that.. Amor!loco! Arrrato vato 👊
Johnny tapia was a very good fighter. No fear. Crazy and tooth. Laugh my ass off when I heard he beat up 4 Latin kings. From Our Chicago. Excuse me 4 wankstas
